Someone So Special

Good Sunday morning!  A black and white beauty for today's offering.  I prepared the background of the card by covering a piece of black card with a sticky adhesive sheet then coating it with Ebony Ice for a pretty bling.  To the lower portion of the card, I added a scored white strip.  I cut the Delicate Filigree Buckle Bar die twice out of black card.  I lined the filigree section with white card before connecting the buckle sections.  I attached the border to the card right where the upper and lower portions of the background met and then I tucked the ends around to the back of the card and taped them.  I stamped the Alexandra Rosebury Toile stamp in black and cut it out with the Alexandra die.  I created a black and white frame using the Grace die and seated it over the stamped sentiment.  I attached it to the centre of the decorative stamped die cut to complete the focal element.   I also added white flatback pearls as accents to the buckle bar feature.  To complete the edge of the card, I paper pierced a white mat, added a thin black mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.

  33. Such a pretty card, Sue - perhaps an odd thing to say for black-and-white but the daintiness of the stamp does make it all look pretty.
Caught John on H last night - using my favourite die to make a pentagonal tall box - fabuloso!! He mentioned his friend Mrs Duck - haven't seen that little yellow bird around for a while?

  81. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Not too sure off the black sparkle Sue as it's a bit too much black for me but hey you know i don't do black that well flower but the rest of your card is stunning and for the right person that does do black the card is a stunner in its own right. Seeing you use these buckles that you have designed on a card is great the different ways in which you use them. I have seen them made up into napkin rings with emblishments on top and they are just stunning, so thank you for coming up with something that we can literally take into our homes for use as well. We will never need to search around for the right colour of rings to match our plan again because of your dies.
Well Pat S. Whitney i am so very chuffed to see your name as one of this weeks winners flower, enjoy your prize when it comes and to all this weeks winners, have great enjoyment and playtime with your new toys when they come and you can honestly tell your other half that you didn't buy it and your halo's will remain intact, lol.
Well we are having another lovely day up here in Central Scotland at the Ochils with the sun shining down a the mearest whisp of clouds in the sky. Although not warm as it's a bit nippy, its still a beautiful day. I hope that where ever you are today you are having a beautiful Sunday, sending hugs to all the Wilsonettes that could do with them,

Had Scamp back to vets this morning and she was very pleased with her progress especially the fact that she's now using her tray all of the time and her walking is getting better. Still a bit gimpy but I would be too with a broken hip! Took her out of her cage today to let her sit in the bay window in the sun and she absolutely loved it, even wagged her tail which is another improvement. So all in all a good day and haven't got to take her back to vet until 9th March.

  126. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

How positively charming, so elegant and sophisticated...well, enough about me, what do I think of the card?:-)....like I said, it's gorgeous and in one of my all time classic colour ways , black and white. I know black isn't to everyone's tastes but who could resist a little bit of ebony ice in all it's magical glory- I have to resist myself from using black and cream all the time, it's a real favourite and this card emphasises how well it can work when used by an expert....you not me!.....I'm pleased to confirm that my die delivery on Friday included the Grace die but unfortunately, despite my best attempts, I couldn't get hold of the buckle die, well, better luck next time....the composition of this card is perfection, and I look forward to creating it when I can source said buckle die:-)
Before I forget, and before I go off on a tangent, can I just say huge congrats to each of this weeks lucky winners, particularly my good friend Wheely Bad because I can't think of a more loving, nurturing carer to adopt one of Sues little gems. I hope you get as much pleasure as I have out of receiving such a prized gift.
Another glorious day in Stirling, the advent before the storm my Mum informs me, but I choose to enjoy these days as they come and worry about any inclement weather after it arrives:-) I hope all my blog buddies have had an equally beautiful Sunday, it all bodes well for Spring. Yes, the tide is turning, I can feel my SAD beginning to recede as the days become brighter and longer and I am filled with hope for the coming weeks and months- I can't believe that March is upon us almost and I haven't even done one card this year!??! That will all change this week when my pal Gill visits for a card tutorial on Wednesday...we would have had one sooner but she has just been on holiday to Sweden and the ice hotel, not my personal choice for break away, I much prefer the heat but the photos were amazing.
I'm afraid that I will be reduced to accosting the Postie tomorrow in the hope that he has my new dies in his parcel otherwise the card class will be abandoned....okay, not quite, but I will be dreadfully upset:-( Is it just a tad sad getting so excited about receiving a few pieces of metal?
Alison, I am beyond pleased about Scamp, I kid you not, she has been on my mind this past week and I am so glad that she is coping so well with the situation:-) what a huge relief it must be for you knowing that she is improving bit by bit. Hugs to you bothxxxx
Jan, so pleased you're having such a fabulous time, if only my own family were so attentive at my birthday:-) It certainly takes the sting out of getting another year older but the most I can expect is incontinence pads, anti ageing face cream and a reminder that I'm not getting any younger!:-) Hope you had a lovely day with your familyxxxx
Yvonne, how lovely to hear from you my dear, this is one chronic hangover you've developed....maybe you'll think twice about being drunk and disorderly dressed as an oompah loompah/ cast member of The only way is Essex! I'm missing you and hope you're back to your cheeky, insulting self as soon as possiblexxxx
Huge hugs to Pam, Maria,Linda, Lorraine, Theresa, Beth, Saba, Tracy, Melody, Rebecca and all in need of a cuddlexxxx

    Love and crafty hugs
