Make it Square

Hi bloggers!  You can change the way that a die looks so easily by cutting it down in size and it is so easy to do!  Your rectangular shaped dies look great as squares and you just need to hide the cut lines. Today's video shows you how to do this easily.

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.   All for now, Sue x

  47. I have tried the edging technique before but have yet to get the confidence to try changing the shape of a die cut as you have done. I think I need to go through my dies to find out which ones respond well to this method and just go for it on copy paper. Perhaps then, I might come up with a card as lovely as this one. The papyrus is yet another lovely colour in the Foundations range isn,t it?

  81. Good morning Sue and the Wilsonettes,
THis is a bonnie card today Sue and the caramel/caramac colour of the coloured card is a nice soft shade but pops and lets the varying parts of the card show their own beauty off to perfection. Sorry again i don't have these dies but i will try it with some of your other dies that i do have. I am going through an aqua phase at the moment and it's all your fault Sue since showing the stunner you did the other week and i just had to get the colour and i am loving it. Anyway side tracked again there todays delight is so clean with the white and just that pop of caramel gives it a whole new look. THank you flower for the inspiration that you give so generously each day as i do appreciate what you do for us. I made a card for my Brother in law for Christmas with your dies but used some of the kaleidoscope mirri( i know, i'm swearing using the mirri word) to bounce the tree lights off it and it was just magical. But more than that him and his new wife loved the card as it was so unusual which is down to you and the inspiration that you so generously give flower. The other one was their wedding card which i made in the design of lemon and white card that i gave to a special lady when i met her in Glasgow. Thank you dear friend for being a constant source and wonder of inspiration, sending hugs your way just to keep you company.
Well folks it's a lovely day up here in the Ochils if a tad chilly because it's -2 but the spectacular view of the hills and the sun coming out now and again to bounce off them is stunning. Sorry i wasn't in yesterday but i had my father in laws fueneral and some how couldn't get into the spirit of things. I only hope that now he is gone his children can either get on or just leave each other alone as i have never known a family like this in all my life.
Tracy flower i hope that you are recovering from your latest dose of Chemo flower and that you have some get up and go back again soon. Sending you hugs to keep you going flower.

  138. Hello Sue
Lovely card and video reminding us how different shaped cards can be achieved by a little snipping!
The Papyrus card is such a gorgeous shade and I will be searching through my stash first to see if I have something similar as I have lots of card I have forgotton about. I am sure I am not the only one!!!!

  140. Hi Sue. Another fantastic card and video today !!! I always forget to cut down my rectangular dies to make square ones !!! I really must have a go at doing this with my dies. A great technique to do and I love the versatility of this die !!! The dies design looks equally fab as a rectangle or a square. I love the colours you have used to. Thank you for sharing this lovely card today Sue.
You are always in my thoughts Sue, lots of love and special hugs today from Tres x x x

Sending lots of love to everyone from Tres x x x

  142. Another great card Sue, must try with some of my rectangle dies. You always make it look so easy. Suppose at the end of the day it is only a bit of card.

  143. Hi Sue,

What a gorgeous card as always, nice to see them used differently.

Well I decided 2 weeks ago to wean off some of my medication and it's caused headaches, migraines and feeling very low so I've not caught up with blog posts but I hope everyone is ok.

    Hugs

  148. Hi Sue. Another of your fantastic cards. I love the way you cut into your dies to give us the inspiration to get more out of our dies. The colours are beautiful and the centrel die covers the join beautifully. Thanks for another informative video. I learn more with pictures than just words, it must be my age lol. Hope you are coping better Sue.x
    Best Wishes.

  149. Gorgeous card. Super cut-down. I don't have this lovely background die but I'll have to take a fresh look at the ones I do have. Just cut the Swirly Lace Edger dies for the first time and they cut like a dream.
    Take care everyone.

  150. First chance to look at the video (thank you), Sue, snip snip again, and so effective! Really nice card, the cathedral die so nice and love the sentiment die. You may say Papyrus but I'm with Norah - definitely Caramac! Ooh, blast from the past.
Tracy, rest up, nearly there now, brave lady!
Yvonne G, so sad for you and your friend. Far too young.
Hugs, Sue, and to all your merry crew.
