Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello my crafty friends!  I had a request for this card so I thought I would make it a giveaway as well.  I started by stamping the Heart of Blossoms stamp using a clear Perfect Medium pad all over a piece of vintage gold card.  I heat embossed the image with gold detail embossing powder.  Next I cut the background into strips and mounted foam on the back of each piece and reassembled them on to a piece of white card with a small gap between them.  I cut a multi-layered frame for my background using the Double Pierced Rectangles Set B.  One out of white card and a smaller gold frame as an inset piece.  I added mounting foam and adhered it over my background.  I stamped the Heart of Blossom stamp again and gold embossed it.  I coloured it with Distress Markers, then cut it out with the matching heart die.  I added a gold paint pen edge to it, then glued clear micro beads into the flowers centres.  I stamped my sentiment and cut out each word on a Pierced Flag die, adding a slightly larger gold flag mat.  I seated the flower with the sentiments forked outward from the side.  Finally, I added a white pierced mat, a gold mat and another white mat to complete the card.   The finished dimensions are 8" x
8 3/4" in size.  If you would like to be entered into the drawing at a chance at winning this card, just leave a comment and check Saturday's blog post for the winner's name.  All for now, Sue x

  137. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

You are such an expert at stamping and colouring, and it is always such a treat to see you exercising this skill for our benefit. I'm not atall surprised that this card has been requested, it's stunning- I'm afraid that I still have two shows from Hochanda still to watch and I'm guessing that this card features in one of them so I'd better get my skates on and watch them...I've been spending an embarrassing amount of time watching Big Brother and the soaps so I only have myself to blame, I need to prioritise particularly with the mega weekend almost upon us.
I've had a busy day, went to the hospital for another surgical procedure on my skin cancer. I was slightly nervous after my last experience and was tempted not to have the operation but common sense prevailed....and it seemed rude to deny my consultant the opportunity to teach his two students, particularly when he was suited and booted for the job at hand:-) Fingers crossed I'll be luckier this time...I promised not to have a bath for 48 hrs this time just in case it causes another infection:-(
I had a sneaky peek at the new release Sue and I must say they are amazing! It's so exciting! I'm hoping that they will be featured in your shows next month because my cash drought will be officially a thing of the past by then, I can't wait! I won't spoil it for anyone else but there are a few welcome returns as well as some new concepts:-)
Molly, I was so pleased to hear from you, you have no idea just how worried we have all been about you, your gran and grandad. I'm sorry to hear that your gran has been so sick, she's a tough lady though and I'm not surprised she's fought back so bravely, give her my love and well wishes for a speedy recovery and a return home to granddadxxx
What an upheaval for you all having to move out of your home, you poor souls:-( I hope the council can find you a nice home soon so that you can all be together again as a family. You've had to be so brave sweetie, you should be proud of yourself! Hugs to you all, especially granddadxxx
Linda and Wheely bad, sorry to hear that you've been suffering with the dreaded migraines, they can be so debilitating. Hope you both feel better soonxxx
Lorraine F, hope you're feeling chipper today too and that cold hasn't taken a grip, a hot toddy can work wonders....or a few Lemsips?
Yvonne honey, hope you're okay and not suffering from some ailment or infection...it's a bad time of year for such things!Take care and hope to hear from you soon.
Tracy, hope you are well too and the chemo is going to plan, it's a long hard slog but you're doing just greatxxx
Love and hugs to all my buddies and absent friendsxxxx

  140. Beautiful card Sue!
I always love it when you go back to rubber stamping as that's when I first saw you on C&C all those years ago. You were demonstrating summers stamps with flip-flops and ladies in swimming costumes if I remember right.

Wow!! I really love this card, is there no end to your talents?

Molly, I'm so sorry your Nan has been so ill I hope she's soon back with your Grandad, and your poor Grandad I really hope they can do the operation. How awful that you are all split up I hope you all get sorted with a house soon xx

  146. Hi Sue
Oh my goodness - absolutely adore this card. I fell in love with it when you showed it on Hochanda and was completely transfixed to the screen whilst you made it. I trust you have had a rewarding and worthwhile trip and managed to muddle through without me x
Checked my e mails for the first time in over a week today and imagine my delight and excitement when I came across more than one e mail inviting me to preview your up and coming new collection. And how beautiful are they. So dumbfounded that you have once again managed to create such an original and astoundingly unique set of pure genius so soon after the last collection. Your crafty acumen far exceeds that of anyone I can think of!! And that is why we all love you x
I feel like I have been away for forever!! Was taken over by a severe bout of fatigue with my energy levels burying themselves 6 feet under. Today has been the first day of being able to achieve a vertical position for longer than 10 minutes.
I am not going to go into details of the rather lovely event that tired me out but it is a story worth sharing but I will leave you in suspense until I am able to type for a bit longer.
Haven't caught up on everyone's news yet and what you have al been up to but am going to try and achieve this tomorrow. It will keep me out of mischief and away from the housework.
    Lots of love to everyone
    Crafty hugs

  148. Hi, Sue and fellow Wilsonettes, hope you're all keeping well.
I saw this card on your recent show on Hochanda. Beautiful, Sue.
I bought the Heart of Hearts Die and this lovely stamp from Ben last Thursday, after seeing your demo and card samples on TV.

Congratulations PharmacyMichele on being one of the comment game winners. ( I used to be a Pharmacy Technician ).

Sorry, I've just been flitting by, not commenting the last few days.
Our older rescue dog, Sooty ( who's 14 or so ) wasn't well on Boxing Day and when we took her to the vets on Tues, Dec 29th,
( the first day they were open after Christmas ) we found out she was seriously ill, in Renal failure.
We had to take her from our local branch to the main veterinary branch where she spent the rest of the day and night having I.v fluids pushed through her.
The outlook didn't look promising, as her creatinin, urea and phosphate levels were off the scale.
We'd made the decision to bring her back home on the Wednesday, so she'd be comfortable and in familiar surroundings.
And if we needed to we'd have the vet to the house on Thurs,( New Year's Eve)
    to put her to sleep.
Thankfully we'd managed to get her eating the tin of renal food we'd brought home from the vet, by hand feeding her and she was holding her own. So we decided to see how things went, until the weekend.
Sooty was continuing to eat and showing signs of improvement and on the Saturday, Ken had to drive to the main, Swansea Branch to
buy some more food for her.
So far, Sooty is still here and I'm continuing to hand feed her. She'd been eating well up until yesterday, when I had problems getting her to eat. I think she dislikes the Renal biscuits I'd introduced into her diet a few days ago mixed with the meat.
Today I have gotten her to eat three small meals so far, just the meat, so hopefully it was just a blip, and we're back on track.
Sooty can only have her Renal diet now, so it's imperative I keep her eating.
No more dog treats or milk for her ever again !!!
Her tail which was between her legs when we brought her home, has gradually risen and is now being held up.
Sooty's doing well, considering Ken and I thought we'd be seeing in the New year without her :-)

Best Wishes and hugs to you all,

    Angela in S. Wales Xx
