New Zealand Collection

Hello there and welcome back!  The last post for today and the final die set in the New Zealand Collection.  This is the Wellington die set.   Shown here in it's simplicity, just using the decorative cutting dies as layered apertures, this die set is beautiful in it's floral design.  I think you will reach for it time and time again, I know I did!  If you would like a chance to win this set, just leave your comment on this post.  Do you have a favourite die yet?  I would love to hear.  That is it for today, but I have a surprise to show you in the morning.  The fun begins at 6am with a brand new concept die category.  I hope to see you then!  All for now, Sue c

  44. Good evening Sue,
This is pretty this card with just the decorative parts of the die cut out leaving the rest in the card gives it a whole different look. I know you say quite simple but it is so effective in it's simplicity and style. This is one of those cards that you could make for a lot of males as well as females for although it is flowery it is stunningly beautiful. Thank you Sue, have a good night flower and see you in the morning,

  114. Hi Sue

Wow, did not see that card coming after seeing the die packaging... what a smart idea! A very ornate die, almost like little flowery fleur de lys (apologies to any French speakers if I spelled that wrong) on each corner. The die has blown the packaging out of the water and I like the die much more now.

A favourite? Awwww, Sue... don't do this to me! Ok, that big noble NZ border is amazing, anything with a hint of lattice work is automatically a favourite too. Me? predictable? Damn straight!

Anyway, enough silliness. Tomorrow is another die! (SIC)

Big hugs to everyone, plenty to go around! Hope you all have a lovely evening,

  133. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a fitting end to a glorious day...and I'm not referring to the state of the weather:-)....the New Zealand set is an absolute triumph of design, intricacy and flair. I don't know why, but it always does, surprise me when I see your die sets transformed into a 3 D masterpiece- the packaging bears little resemblance to the finished article in that it fails to convey the beauty and sheer versatility of the die concerned.
Favourites?ooh you are awful making us choose from such tempting delicacies, but if pushed under threat of torture I could narrow it down to the Australian background, Auckland and Maggie dies....but I will be buying them all at some point because I am a crazed die addict whose overwhelming urge to feed her habit is at boiling point just now:-)....just got to break the news to my bank manager and financial consultant, ie my mum!
Well, my attempts at a baked rice pudding didn't work out as planned, I followed the recipe contents and cooking instructions however the end result was devoid of any moisture and almost cake like!??! I think there was too much rice to milk ratio so I'll give it another go and try to be less distracted by the goodies on today's blog...not that I'm blaming Sue for my culinary ineptitude, at least with her help I can conjure up a half decent card nowadays:-)
Yvonne, missing you honey, I'm assuming that the flu has taken hold and you're unable to follow the launch so I hope you pick up again soon in time to enjoy the proceedingsxxxx
Not much chatter on the blog since the launch, just hoping everyone is bedazzled by the dies and rendered speechless and not feeling under the weather like poor Yvonne.
Sending love and hugs to the Usual Suspects:-) Beth, Linda, Rebecca ,Wheely bad, Lorraine, Maria,Jan, Tracy, and Theresa and anyone in need of a cuddlexxx
Beyond excited about tomorrow's surprise, I think it will be a case of me keeping Darcey up half the night rather than the other way round:-)

    Love and crafty hugs,

  145. Hello Sue and all

The Wellington dies are beautiful, love the way you design your die sets to be used with and without outer cutting borders - it creates such a different look. This card is just lovely.
I keep going back to the Australian background as a favourite but it is so close, who knows what the favourite will be after tomorrow?

I have been following for a while and a good collection of your dies. I have to say these new dies are excellent. One question now that your dies are in Hochanda will you be bringing the dies as a bundle like when you were C&C. Marva P x

  154. Gorgeous. I love them all, but the Australian background has already made its way onto my wish list. And I love the flourish you used yesterday, but I don't think the name was in your post....cannot wait to have that one, too. Whe wide lacey die is awesome. Love the leaves on the other card today....my goodness....I think I love them all. Can't wait to see more....Jan D., Florida, USA

  171. Love the New Zealand collection. Hard to choose a favourite. Will you be creating a 'Christchurch' as a tribute to that beautiful city which was devastated in the 2011 earthquake? My son's home was severely damaged leading to a rebuild.

  176. Hello Sue,

Well, after a day in which you have brought to us some wonderful new dies you ask us to choose which ones we like best!
A difficult question to answer as there seems to be something for everyone especially for those of us who like to make smaller cards.
I must say I love both the Australian and New Zealand backgrounds but then I like all the rest too. How you come up with all these intricate designs I do not know!!
I am looking forward to seeing tomorrow's new Concept dies!
