Serenity Scene

Hi crafters!  Today's video card is a sympathy card, which unfortunately we all need to do from time to time.  They can be very difficult to do sometimes, but I think the serenity of this card makes it a perfect choice for those difficult cards.

John Lockwood has shows on Hochanda today at 9am, 12 noon, 4pm and 7pm.  Don't forget to tune in to see his fabulous demos!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

cr@fty Heather T - so sorry you've had a tough time too, onwards and upwards hey?
Someone asked about Steph, from what she posted think she's decamped to Facebook. Has anyone any news of Janet (Ecco, Sheffield)? who also hasn't been on for a while. So may regulars gone AWOL, something Sue once touchingly wrote about. Great to see Lindsay back again - how are the horses?

  75. Oh, my...such a pretty card and really versatile by changing out the word dies. Today's card looks like a Florida scene/setting.

I try to have sympathy cards made and on hand for those terrible times I need to send one. It's difficult for me to be creative when I'm sad...at my age, it seems I need these cards as well as "Get Well Soon" cards more and more often.

You definitely design your die sets with the end user in mind...right/left orientation considerations, more than just one die of a type like foliage and this catkin so you don't have to make so many passes to get enough die cuts, outline dies for making a solid backing for those intricate dies....you seem to think of everything. Do you beta test your designs?

I think you are a genius!!! Have a great day!!!

  101. Good evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!

What a fabulously calm and serene ensemble, and totally appropriate for a sombre occasion as well as being very adaptable depending on the chosen sentiment. I love the setting and the rich colour tones, like a beautiful Carribean sunset with the midnight blue water shimmering below- the dark catkins provide a stunning contrast in the foreground too.
I haven't had a minute today to enjoy this demo, will definitely treat myself to some me time later on though:-)
I am getting increasingly excited about this weekends shows, even cleared some extra space on my sky+ box in anticipation:-), I've had a sneaky peek on the CE website at the products on show and that has only served to raise my levels of expectation and excitement off the scale! Wishing you a safe flight Sue back to Blighty, be sure to pack some thermal underwear, a pair of wellies and a cagool because Florida we ain't!:-)
Had a busy day today, didn't finish off my cards as planned, decided to visit my friend Monique instead- she has a Shitzuh puppy called Lulu who got so excited she piddled all over the floor:-)....I tend to have that effect on animals and the elderly, and occasionally small children:-) I have to admit that I am more of a cat person though....
My mum has just called me to tell me that my Uncle who she visited recently has just died this evening, we are in a state of shock even though he has been very Ill since September- it makes today's card all the more poignant for me, I have never done a sympathy card and to do one under these circumstances is heartbreaking. I apologise for cutting my comment so short and rather abruptly but my head is spinning and I feel a bit numb.
Huge hugs to my blog buddies and those in need of a comforting cuddle

  110. Hi Sue

Sympathy cards are never easy, I find the ones in the shops are more aimed at older people which sadly isn't always the case. It's nice to have ideas for them that are different. I also agree with some posters that with a change of sentiment it'd be good for a get well or a thinking of you card.

It's Friday soon... hooray!!! Thouh Laine is right, wrap up warm!

Tracy, glad the line is in, hope you're feeling ok after your chemo. Thank you, I'm relieved he's ok and I'll talk to him tomorrow so I will find out how the house is. Many, many hugs xxx

  117. Hi Sue, I really like this card, the simplicity, the colours and the layout. Great video too. I have had way too many Sympathy cards to make this year, and they are difficult and make me very sad. Bx
