Hi bloggers! Today's video is a good example of using your dies in ways that may not be so obvious. The Diagonal Foldover Flower die not only makes beautiful flowers, but makes a great border as well!

ReplyDeleteYears ago when I first started crafting I used to do a technique called Lace, that involved a lot of cutting and folding. Although I enjoyed it tremendously I had Carpel Tunnel in both hands so it became too painful for me to do. This die has the same look but so much easier lol! I love the new colour card from Creative Expressions. Your card is beautiful you have such an amazing eye when creating. I enjoyed the video as I always do thanks for sharing your ideas.

Well ladies chemo day has arrived again. Have to go in at 9 this morning to try obtain bloods from the picc line as it didn't want to cooperate for the district nurse yesterday nearly 1.5 hrs she was in at the house yesterday.
Not my usual nurse as it was a bank hol everything that could go wrong did for the poor woman.
Gloves burst as she was trying to put them on. Then she dropped a pair on floor getting them out packet. Then at the dressing change the sticky plaster thing that hold the line in place was so sticky it had adhered. Solid to the line it wouldn't come off!!! It did eventually. Then the blood wouldn't come out!!! She tried everything. Poor lady she like its like a carry on film u couldn't write the script. I just kept laughing to try lighten her mood she was stressing lol
Ah well let's hope I can still get chemo today without any hiccups.

Morning Sue, this brought back memories of Lace years ago, with a stencil and sharp knife, took ages, hurt your hand and usually for me the last cut went wrong and the whole thing ended up in the bin or a cross the room. Now we can have the effect with little or no effort, thank you Sue. Beautiful card and the lovely Heraldic square too.

ReplyDeleteYour card is stunning as per usual Sue and it's great how we do a lace technique, which is a gorgeous look to add to a project but normally takes a wee while to cut. It's nice when we get two looks for the price of one and showing just how different a flower can be is shown in todays masterpiece. The colour that you have accented it with is like a cinnamon spice which is a wee bit different from your usual colour schemes. I will look at the video when i have finished but i like to guess first, more to give the brain a workout than anything else, to see if i'm right in your teasers that you give us. Well at the moment Coste de Glenochil is bright and dry but we will see how long that lasts for as we are just waiting on the storms coming but being on a hill we don't suffer the same as the folk down in the valley of the hillfoots. They normally get cut off from this side of the county for days at a time because the river Devon over flows it's banks. The eejits that we have for builders up here also built on green belt land that was always that because it was a bog, but they built a whole load of houses on it and now the folk get what our poor friends in the top of England are going through. Anyway i'll shut up and let you all go but wish you all a good day and sending special hugs to Tracy, Melody and her family, Wheely Bad and Sheila who are going through a tough period at the moment and i am hoping that with the new year will be new good luck for all that really could do with it.

I'm sorry that I haven't tried my version of yesterday's card yet, no crafting got done today as when I got up this morning I found my oldest furry friend had died peacefully in his sleep and I think anything I made would have got very wet.

Like many of your ladies, I too spent many frustrating hours with a craft knife and stencil in hand determined to conquer the lace technique so I will be eternally grateful to you and your ingenious dies for making that process far less stressful and laborious
This is a stunning card and typifys your style beautifully, I really enjoyed taking some time out after a mound of ironing to appreciate a master at work. I have had my eye on the fold over flower die for some time, now I have no good reason not to make it my next purchase.
I've had a busy day catching up with some housework...after spending too many days watching movies on daytime tv....so back to reality with a bump! I always find the week between Christmas and New Year an odd time when you don't really know what day of the week it actually is and all normality goes out the window-roll on the return to routine and structure...after I've drank my own body weight in alcohol on Hogmany of course:-)
Tracy, what an ordeal you had to endure yesterday but I always find that facing adversity with a smile somehow helps the situation too. I hope that your chemo session passed without incident- how are you getting on with your wig? Are you able to wear it yet or are you still rocking the scarves look? Take care honeyxxx

Are you still on babysitting duties though or do you have a reprieve until after New Year:-) I call my mum Victoria Meldrew because she has got whinging down to a fine art- it's a generational thing, once you hit a certain age you feel it is your duty to point out the 'reality' of a situation as my mum puts it, I simply find rather her curmudgeonly in an oddly endearing way...if truth be known, I'm probably getting a glimpse of myself in 25yrs time:-) hope you're feeling well sweetiexx

Apologies for being so late commenting. I had take m cat to the vet yesterday, and ended p having have her put to sleep. I love this card, but even this can't lift the cloud I'm living under at the moment. Hope everyone is well. Jules x
