Christmas Double Days

Hello there crafters!  We have come to the end of the Christmas double days!  It's about time, huh! LOL  I do still have some Christmas cards left that haven't been posted but those will all go up on Christmas day.  I have chosen two red, white and black cards to finish up this years double days.  First up, I cut an oval aperture in the middle of a piece of white card and embossed the aperture with the Swirling Holly folder.  I raised it with foam and then added a black frame around the aperture.  I embossed the area within the aperture opening too and cut the Seasons Greetings die in black.  I layered up two of them then added them to the centre of the framed area.  I cut several of the Classic Poinsettia in red card and coated them with Cosmic Lacquer and allowed them to dry before assembling.  I added them around the frame and accented them with Holly sprays.  The usual pierced white mat, then a thin red and black mat and a final white mat finished the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

For card number two, I started by cutting the Three Wise men striplet in the card on the left side.  I backed it with a piece of black card that had been coated with Ebony Ice.  I cut the Vertical Peace die out of both white and black card and offset them to create a shadow,  I mounted it on the lower right hand side of the card. Using both the Classic Poinsettia and the Poinsettia Outline die, I created three tone on tone poinsettias.  I added them around the sentiment and striplet as accents.  I finished the card in the same way as above with my usual pierced mat and other layers.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 3/4" in size.  I hope you have enjoyed this years Christmas double days!  All for now, Sue x
