Hi crafters! Here is another way to use the Mini Rose Garden Striplet! It works beautifully for the stained glass technique using coloured PVA glues. I hope you will give it a try!
The finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x
Another beautiful card Sue. Tasteful, elegant and very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSP, your beautiful comment yesterday touched our hearts. I hope your friend continues to enjoy her crafting and Sues lovely blog will be here for you both any time.

Morning Sue. This is a stunning card. I watched this video a couple of weeks ago and had a play with my pva glues on a couple of different striplet dies and they all turned out beautifully. A really different look from the paper piecing and what a brilliant idea putting a fresh striplet piece over your finished coloured piece to hide any mess you have made. Thanks for another very informative video.
ReplyDeleteTake care everyone.
Best Wishes.

For the ladies who weren't on yesterday. My surgery went well and I got home same day. I'm quite sore this morning but it's manageable an I have to travel to Glasgow today for my fertility consultation. It's a bit annoying they couldn't wait a few days but they need to start asap.
I found out my cancer is the unusual one which they don't know much about which is called the hormone triple negative. Although I was very upset about it at the time I'm not dwelling on it too much and moving forward with the rest of the treatments as I keep telling myself there are worse off people with cancers too! Plus I'm still I've and I'm thankful for that. So another 2 weeks to wait to see the rest of the results from the lumpectomy ;-(
Thanks to each an everyone of u wishing me support it has been an amazing help.
Sue thank you too for not only sharing your cards but also letting us share experiences and things with each other.
You are one amazing lady and I really hope I get the chance to meet u sometime
Love to all xxx

Hi Sue such a pretty card today, glittery without the glitter! I always hold my breath when you blob on the colours as it looks so messy, but the big reveal with the top layer is beautiful. I must try it ( wouldn't buy the green pva usually but can see now it needs to be! ). Thank you for sharing.

Sue, I'm sorry that I haven't commented for the last couple of days, but when I went to look back at yesterday's blog, I realised that my comment had gone and also the previous day's too! I worked out what had happened! Stupidly, when I'd written my comment I forgot to publish it - what a dipstick! Bad enough to do it once, but twice - I don't think there's much hope for me!!!
Love and hugs to everyone especially those in pain, having treatment or going through operations etc, Alison xxxxx
Hi Sue.
ReplyDeleteI watched in amazement when you showcased this card on HOCHANDA a few months back, and still I wonder what makes you tick ! What on earth sparks the idea of trying different mediums, as you have said - your original stained glass is all done with glitters, but to use the Pva glue is just brilliant.
I'm hoping that after you read that beautiful post from SP that you will now understand how you affect those round you. It was the most heartfelt message I've ever read here.
On that note I will send my love to you and to Tracey, hope all went well in Glasgow my love. Sam I'm thinking of your lovely lady.
Hugs for now.
Lancashire Steph xx
Bit late today, relaxing now after a day out with 3 yr old grandson, boy has he got some energy!

Beautiful card and a fantastic video!
ReplyDeleteI really like this striplet die and the stained glass effect is gorgeous.
Oh wow I love this card, it is so pretty and can imagine it being fab in any colour.
ReplyDeleteI do love detail on all the striplet dies and must get this to add to my collection.
Will watch the video as soon as I get some peace and quiet.
I havn't been able to craft for a couple of weeks because of nerve damage to my back but
seeing your cards and videos is giving me lots of inspiration for when I can.
This is such a lovely card Sue, I knew when you started to apply the glues that you were going to add another die cut.xx
ReplyDeletestunning card. great technique. i will try to incorporate this, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card Sue. I love the striplet, it has a look of Rennie Macintosh about it. Beautiful embossing too. Pat x
ReplyDeleteGood evening lovely Sue and her crafty crew!
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying seeing your interpretation of your new release of dies Sue, it is a refreshing change and stops a saturation of festive cards- when you are faced with a mountain of Christmas cards to complete, a bit of light relief is always welcome. My list of must have dies is growing by the card though, I just hope Santa thinks I've been a good girl this year....I know my bank manager thinks not!, not to mention my Mum:-)
I love the stained glass effect though I haven't had time to enjoy the video as yet, I'm saving it for a quieter moment. I'm going to have to put an extension on my craftroom so that I can fit more dies in, don't do another release until I catch up dear Sue:-)
Had a 'day off' today so thought I'd attempt another Chrimbo card- out came the iced snow and Brodie quickly appeared out of nowhere...I swear he has a radar for when I enter my craftroom! He likes to sit on the window in front of my desk, unfortunately he has to walk all over my work first to get there...I'd managed to use the glitter beforehand but he still got it all over his paws when he jumped onto the copy paper:-)
I have now completed four cards so at this rate I'll be ready next July:-) I hate to simplify my cards but it's either that or send shop bought ones!Shock!Horror!
Tracy, how heartening it is to see you focusing on the future so soon after your op- fertility treatment is a really positive step and gives you a definite goal for the future, you are one courageous lady, good luckxxx
Melody, you have been in my thoughts today, it's not an easy proposition for you and Francis and I pray that the surgeon gives you some hope for the future. Give my love to Molly and her family of course, who are on this difficult path with you. Huge hugsxxxx
Wheely Bad, migraines can be so debilitating so I really hope your new meds prove successful and give you some relief from the symptomsxxx
Beth, many happy returns dear, hope you had a fab day spending all that birthday cash at CE Towers- your hat will be working overtime today!xxx
Yvonne, hope you are okay my love, always worry when we don't hear from you. Take care sweetiexxxxx
Off to take Brodie for his evening constitutional...minus his new harness/straight jacket , he managed to negotiate his front leg back through the arm last night whilst doing the toilet so had to be carried home growling with displeasure...another return to Pets at Home then!
Love and crafty hugs,
Laine1972xxxx
Hi Sue
ReplyDeleteLove this, the poinsettia striplet and the snowflake, as well ast he rest of the configurations are "next" on the list. Very excited by this as it's a lot of dies for not much cash!!! Soon as I saw this I thought, like a lot of others, that this would look great done with the poinsettia. The configuration die you used is perhaps my favourite. I use it a lot to edge toppers or pictures, it looks beautiful and lifts the card or journal page tremendously. Anyway, back to the card, I shall watch later when all is quiet ;-)
Tracy, You are one amazing lady, strong and positive. I hope today's appointment and travel didn't take too much out of you. Hopefully now you can have a rest and recover from the last couple of days. Sending gentle but caring hugs(I'm a "T" with an "e") xxx
Beth B, happy birthday! Birthday hugs! Hope you're having a lovely day xxx
Melody, Francis & Molly, sending hugs xxx
Dawn Holben, I'm sorry your back isn't better yet. I know exactly how frustrating it is and I'm sending you hugs and positive, healing thoughts so you can be crafting as soon as possible xxx
Theresa, Mr W suggested a couple of Christmas's ago to get him some reindeer antlers! He is trained to pull on command to help me get about the house or garden (I keep a nylon lead on the chair that I can clip on him when needed- and to stop him pinning visitors to the sofa for a barrage of kisses!). He does catch you unawares on a walk if he catches a nice scent in a bush or by a tree. He has caught a few of his walkers off guard but he can't pull me and the powerchair though lol
Marg, I've been on pizotifen for a while and trying to keep from putting on more weight has been almost as annoying as the migraines! It takes the edge off but has not stopped the very severe attacks, the doc said they are hemiplegic migraines. He gave me tablets to take when it starts to happen. I've gradually reduced the pizotifen but I'm now back with an almost constant headache though as I've got problems with my neck it might be that causing tension. There are so many types of migraine, none are nice to have at all. I'm lucky I don't get sick, though they knock me for six for a day or two after. It is surprising how many people suffer from them, just looking at the blog comments there are plenty in the same boat as me. I have to keep the tablet and phone on low light and balance the light in the room, I have had less since having a daylight bulb in the living room but when it starts I have the lamp on only to darken the room. I also avoid dehydration as that will cause headaches. Sending hugs to all the people who get them and hearing your experiences has been a help to me xxx
Okay, time for a lay down and a rest before Billys and mine bedtime routine. Hugs to all of you, I got plenty extra if they're needed,
T x
Love this card I really enjoy what you achieve with the striplet dies. Have not watched the video yet but am hoping for a quiet period tomorrow
ReplyDeleteEvening Sue
ReplyDeleteI am the proud owner of the holly striplet and I absolutely adore it. This card is beautiful and I will attempt to emulate it's beauty but sadly I do not believe it will look anything like the wonderful original. More like a cheap forgery but one can try!! I have missed you whilst I have not been here for almost a week. Hope you are fine and dandy x
A short explanation as to my absence - I am fine and have not been commenting due to the fact that a friend of mine accidently took home the charger for my lap top. I am not the owner of a super duper posh phone that allows access to the internet. My phone serves it's purpose adequately. It rings and I can make calls if necessary and I can text. It may be akin to something pre war but it works!
The boys both have I phones and if I had been able to unglue said phones from their grubby little paws then I may have been able to check out the last weeks cards and comments. Trying to get them to part with the technology that is their choice of entertainment and the only way they seem to be able to communicate, is an impossible task. So, I have been going cold turkey since my last comment and am very pleased to be back.
My friend dropped off the charger about 25 minutes ago and I could hardly contain my excitement as I immediately plugged it in and got my first glimpse of particraft for almost a week.
Aforementioned friend has been warned that if she ever deprives me of my fix again by stealing my charger then it would be a wise decision for her to go into hiding in order to avoid my wrath!!
Anyway it is late and I will spend time tomorrow catching up. Lots of love to everyone.
Tracy - I hope you are ok - lots of love x
Melody - you have been on my mind whilst I have not been around - lots of love x
Lorraine - not saying I don't trust you but will be checking your comments to make sure that you have not been causing havoc x
Nite nite all
Crafty hugs
Yvonne

ReplyDeleteThe news for Francis was tragic, they told him they don't feel the operation will be any good for him, an really just told him to go home to die said he as around 6 months an if he did the operation he would be dead in about 3 days, Francis sled if he could try to build up an get the numbers up what they seem to be going by an they said it would take least 6 months for that to happen an the growth would b to big by then, I said you can't just say go home an wait to die he is 51 years old, an the surgeon said I would kill him if I did the operation. Francis then said I can do it in 6 weeks what you say will take 6 months he said he will try an build up more an do more excise the doctor was just shaking his head but Francis wouldn't give in an said I want to be the tested in 6 weeks I will prove you wrong an went on to say even if the points ain't as high as you would like I still want to be booked in for the operation if I going to die I am going to die fighting I think that's when I lost it.
Sorry to tell you such bad news but you have all been here with us from the start an I felt you should know what's happening now. Francis as had our son down getting all his excise stuff down into the living room an says he is starting tomorrow to prove them all wrong, he even said on way home I want a roast dinner where he ain't really been eating, I came home made him a roast dinner an he ate every last bit an said I told you I going to do this. xXx
