Debossed Peace Card

Hello crafters!  I have a really easy card to share with you today that I think is perfect for either a male or female recipient as well!  It can easily be spruced up with a floral element if you like too, so making it very versatile.

The finished dimensions are 8 1/4" x 9" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  16. Hi there Sue, hope you feel refreshed, and that the party on Sunday was the perfect end to your weekend - is there no end to your step daughter 's talent !
As you mentioned in your intro for today's card, this is perfect for those awkward male cards but can be equally dressed up for our girlfriends and female relie's. I use to dread making a batch of male cards for market and I have to make enough of them to allow for taste and choice and every card has to be different (stating the obvious ) so I make at least 20+ but since you've released your new festive dies, they have given me the tools to make 'male' type cards without the panic and anxiety I use to feel leading up to filling my male card market basket, so thank you so much for taking the strain for me and off me too : )
I must say that I love the way you have colour co-ordinated your white, black, and gold top to go with your white, black, and gold card today : )
Have a lovely day whatever your plans are for today Sue.
Love and hugs to you and my friends that pop in today - you know who you are xxx

Not a 100% on this one I'm afraid and I don't know why! It might be the colours as I do like all of the elements. I'll keep looking at it and it will probably grow on me.
Melody, I'm so sorry, not a very nice position to be in and my heart goes out to you and Francis ( and Molly) . I know exactly how you are feeling as it is very similar to what we went through with my aunt, but at least she was 89. You must try to get some rest though and look after yourself as Francis will only worry about you on top of everything else. We all understand if you are not up to leaving a comment, but do know that we are all here for you all and my thoughts and prayers are with you.

What a very simple gift today. Simple but so so effective and beautiful. Definitely in the file of 'less is more' and one which can be created in batch form just ready to be personalised when necessary or not depending on the recipient.

I love your efolder. It is the first 8x8 folder I bought and has saved me hours and hours of having sit and put in the lines. I cannot thank you enough for this folder. If anyone hasn't bought it yet please do so as it can stop anyone from going crazy having to get the needed affect by hand (but as we crafters are already crazy then it just saves you hours)lol.

It's my Knit and Natter afternoon and thankfully not my turn to provide the card to be made. Looking forward to catching up with some of my crafting friends.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  62. Hello Sue & WW!
Today's card is so nice & elegant. After watching your video, it does look like an easy process (but with results that say otherwise). However what you make look easy and how it really happens for me often don't line up! Lol. Actually it's more an issue of my lack of speed than it is difficulty level. :) I still don't have the debossed snowflake, but wish I did. I even think one of our local stores had it early on and I opted for the Festive snowflake background instead as I didn't fully understand the potential of the debossed piece (or of having multiple or all pieces in a collection). Silly me! Now I know, if it's Sue Wilson, just buy it! Sue will show me what to do! Inevitably, you'll demo it and I'll want it. I guess it's a good thing for my bank account local stores don't carry more S.W.! I also noticed how nicely your top matched the colors in the card, made me smile.
Thank you Diane (or should I say 'Dainty' :) for all the clarifications. It sounds like your "kraft" color and ours is one in the same. After reading your description, I think my iPad did the taupe color justice after all. Even if it didn't, the card was beautiful!
I do know what Dancing With the Stars is, just don't happen to watch it. I'm sure I would like it as a lot of my friends do (especially with all the peachy bottoms Laine keeps extolling - and here I thought they all watched it for the actual dancing :-) Laine, given your area's climate, are you sure your Mum's perpetual hot flashes aren't due to watching Strictly? ;-) btw, congrats on getting the cards done for your uncle! I still haven't come up with a plan for my husband's or uncle's bday cards, let alone put dies or adhesive to paper :( whatever I end up doing, I'm sure the inspiration will have come from Sue.
Diane, as u said, it's so nice that we have all been brought together from around the world for our love of craft (thank you Sue!). It has allowed each of us to expand our own little world beyond our physical boundaries. We have the opportunity to learn, laugh, even grieve (sounds like a friendship of sorts to me :) with people we likely would not otherwise know. In that spirit, heartfelt hugs to all, especially Melody & family.

I'd been in loo most of yesterday with the dreaded D and then the cramps kicked in at midnight OMG I'd not had an attack of cramps so bad before I was almost doubled over I couldn't breathe!!

Stunning. An absolute work of art. The colour looks beautiful and I am looking forward to watching the video a bit later as I am sure there are some hidden gems in there to fill me with inspiration as always.
I loved yesterdays card as well. It was 'busier' than usual but that meant every time I looked at it I saw something I hadn't noticed before. I don't think there has ever been any of your cards I haven't liked - and that is why I am your favourite stalker/fan! Lol x
Apologies for the lack of comment yesterday. I was later than usual commenting and I do not know what I did but meant to click publish but whatever I did my comment disappeared. I was very frustrated as you know I am not a woman of few words. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Fingers crossed I don't muck it up this time x
Melody - I so feel for you. 50 is such a young age and one would never expect to have to make such a decision. When things like this happen we find ourselves questioning why and very rarely find any answers. Trying to make sense of such an unjust situation is hopeless. Life is such a precious gift and we only appreciate this when such situations are thrown in our direction. Please try and get some sleep - although this is so much easier said than done. I am sending love and warm hugs to all of you. I will be thinking of you and pray that whichever choice Frances makes is the best one for him and all of you. Look after yourself. With much love x
We never know in which direction our lives and the lives of our loved ones is going to go. Something we often hear is live for the moment and take every day one step at a time. Why save that best dress with the price label still on it for a special occasion? If you want to do the housework in a cocktail dress then why not? You never know what tomorrow will bring. I lost my partner 4 years ago. It was completely unexpected and he was only 49. Life is too short to 'save things for best'.
    Take care everyone

    Hi Sue

This one is right up my street. Has an air of simplicity and class about it. Not usually a sentiment that I would use, but can see how this can be swapped out with another one to suit. That being said this is beautiful..

  110. Beautiful design Sue. I love the embossing folder also with all the detailed lines. This is a very elegant card.

Dear Tracy, so sorry you are suffering with IBS, been there also, to the point of hospitalization and bleeding colon. Terrible pain, rather go through childbirth any day. After years of this, I finally found a physician, an allergy specialist, who took the time to really find some help for me. I know each of us are different, and what helped me may not help you, but if it could alleviate any of your pain, it would be a sin for me not to share. This is all "over the counter", no prescription needed, here in the USA, at least. I think we are even more regulated here than in England, from what I've been told. Anyway, back to the subject. This doctor felt IBS was an inflammation caused by the body reacting with histamine (sort of like your nose does when irritated by something you're allergic too). So, he had me try two antihistamines, one was loratadine, like Claritin an allergy tablet. The other, cimetidine, like Tagamet, this was used for ulcers, but he explained it is a histamine blocker 2, for the gut. After my insides calmed down (about a week or two on this routine), he recommended a good probiotic daily. This for me was life changing. So if ever my symptoms flare up, such as when I have a lot of stress, I return to this combination for a few days. Like I said this may not help in your situation, we are all different, but it could. I hope these are "over the counter" meds for you.

Sorry all to get off Sue's wonderful creations. I didn't know how else to share with Tracy.

  115. Good evening Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,

I especially relish video demo days at this time of year, so many cards to do and so little time so I really appreciate all of your fabulous hints and tips ...not to mention that I will never be in danger of losing my mojo with the steady flow of inspiration you gift us with on a daily basis.
You provide us with the tools to create fabulous cards for both sexes, challenge us with new techniques and keep our own creative juices flowing. Today's beautiful example would be the perfect choice for the difficult to please amongst us ie men! I simply adore the Debossed snowflake, it was one of my first purchases upon the new release, it is particularly stunning when the beautiful detailing is highlighted with some gilding wax. I also remember the days when I would spend hours labouriously scoring lines to create the same effect as your gorgeous EF does in seconds...thank The Lord for technical advances:-)
What a gorgeous day today, the weather is glorious at the moment, a little bottle of Rebecca's sunshine has finally arrived and Brodie took full advantage! We were trying to squeeze in a bath, cleaning said bathroom, hoovering and steaming the oak floors, accepting a supermarket delivery then putting it away, all before rushing off to a doctors appointment when Brodie decided to take this moment to display his full escapism repertoire....we had secured him inside Mums bedroom whilst the delivery arrived safe in the knowledge that he couldn't escape..Ha!Think again!...he somehow managed to put his full body weight on the handle whilst pressing it down thus opening the door and running for freedom. we spent the next two hours trying to coax him home before we had to leave for our appointment. I decided threats, begging, pleading and crying was having no effect whatsoever on him so my only option would be to let him take me for a walk until he became tired out in the sunshine. I was patience personified, following, much to his glee...the only thing missing was my lead!..until he eventually flopped down and let me pick him up and carry him home 15 mins before our taxi arrived. Phew!
Life may not always offer us the best of hands but you really have to make the most of what you have when you have it- it's not until something we cherish or even take for granted is placed in jeopardy that we realise just how fortunate we have been. I've always been a glass half full kind of gal, choosing to find the positives of a situation rather than the drawbacks. Whilst things have often gone pear shaped I have learned a valuable lesson along the way that life is essentially very fragile and it is there to enjoy now, not tomorrow or next week. Yvonne was so right, wear that glitzy dress to the supermarket, don't save it for another day. I've came perilously close to death a few times and it has made me determined to make the most of what I have, not mourn what I have lost. It's a hard lesson to learn concerning our own physical limitations, even more so the hurdles faced by our loved ones. Family and friends are precious and often we would rather be hurt than watch them suffer, the hardest thing is to feel helpless. It is with this in mind that my thoughts and prayers are with Melody, Francis and Molly who have more than their fair share of heartache lately. I'm sorry if I am waffling on a bit but my uncles prognosis is very bleak and I know what it feels like to be think that you are redundant and useless. What this blog has taught me though, is that we are never alone in our struggles and for that I am grateful.
Sorry for my sombre mood, I hope that I haven't depressed anyonexxxx

    1. Hi Melody
I'm still very new to this blog but I have been following yours and Molly's story. My heart heart goes out to you and your family, I once read that for your guardian angel or any angels to help you all you have to do is ask. So Melody I have asked for all the healing angels to be sent your way and I pray that you get some good news soon.

  128. Hi Sue - I love the way that you've made the stripey background on this one - would be great as a background for a man's card as it's textural but not floral or glittery. Thanks for sharing, Susan x
