Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  Today's card giveaway is a pretty aqua and white card (I seem to be using aqua quite a bit lately, huh!)  I started by cutting the Stacked Diamond Striplet in the bottom of the card, using just the decorative insert die.  Next I did a letterpress on the entire background and inked up the Bed of Roses folder with Clear Perfect Medium and placed the die cut background into the folder.  I ran it through the GC which transferred the ink to the floor of the design.  I covered  it with Pearlescent Mica powder to give it an all over sheen, then dusted it with a tissue to remove any excess.  I backed this piece with aqua card so it showed through the cut out area.  For the focal element on the card, I cut two of the  Vancouver die and then cut them in half just past the centre point, keeping the two larger halves.  I cut the Lisbon die in aqua and backed it with white backing which I cut the centre out of with the Porto die.  I attached the Vancouver dies to the back of the Lisbon die so they were peeking out from underneath and trimmed away any area that showed through the centre cut out area.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the circle centre die in the Porto set and made a faux mat for it in aqua.  I mounted them in the centre of the frame.  I completed the card with some flatback pearls and a paper pierced white mat, a thin aqua mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  8 3/4" in size.  Leave me a comment to be included in the drawing to win this one.  Then check back on Saturday's blog post to see if your name was drawn!  Easy as pie!  All for now, Sue x

  11. Hi Sue.
Thank you for offering this delicate beautiful card today. Aqua is such a gorgous shade of blue and sits side by side comfortably along side many more shades of your foundation card, I love using it with the thinnest mat of black, and also with the vintage silver, plus it always seem's that little bit more brighter when used along side with the midnight blue, as you can see Sue im also a big fan of Aqua card too : )

Sending today's sentiment back to you.
    Have a lovely day.

    Morning Sue
I cannot think of anyone not wanting today's gift to come through their door whether for a special occasion or a 'just because' and as for winning it well as usual my SW spot is all dusted off and waiting.

It doesn't matter how often you use Aqua it will always be a winner in my book and today's gift just shows the colour off perfectly and it enhances your gorgeous dies
    to the maximum.
I managed to finish a couple of bday cards yesterday so I think today will have to be given over to December cards.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

You are forgiven for using Aqua. I don't think anyone will mind. And the sentiment - well right back at you.
Gorgeous creation. There is just a splish (that's slightly less than a splash), of colour and with the usual 'Sue ingenuity' the dies are showcased to perfection. To sum it up - awesome. Please let me win x

Barbara - Happy Birthday for yesterday. Hope you had a lovely day x

Beth B - there's being food orientated but then there's being two sandwiches short of a picnic! There is no easy way to tell you this but you are definitely the latter! lol x

Wheely Bad - sorry you are feeling so yucky. Hang in there and try and stay positive. I am sending big hugs. Hope you start to feel better. Does Mr W follow your instructions or does he pretend to listen and then do things his way? x

Molly - sorry that your granddad is feeling so rough. It does seem so unfair that the treatment that is helping him is making him feel so awful. Everyone is thinking of you and sending you and your family love and hugs x

Lorraine - I hate ironing. Have to say I have made absolutely certain that in my psyche is the fact that I will always ensure that it only gets ironed if absolutely necessary. Knickers - no, socks - certainly not, pillow cases - please!! Life is too short to iron your smalls and I can't be bothered. I was secretly delighted when George decided that he likes skinny jeans. I think they look dreadful but they are so tight that the creases are stretched out when he sprays them on - no extra effort required on my part x

Maria - summer cold? Perhaps it is man flu? I hear that is a dreadful condition!! I hope the cheese grater is no longer wedged in your throat. Hate having a sore throat. Feel better soon - hugs x]

Hope everyone has a lovely day. Hopefully getting a head of highlights so might even look more presentable this time tomorrow - fingers crossed.
    Crafty hugs

  136. Good afternoon lovely Sue and fabby Wilsonettes,

What a delicately feminine card, very vintage in feel I think, and I just adore it. The letterpress technique with the Bed of Roses EF and the mica powder creates a subtle sheen that makes this gem positively glow-as the lucky recipient will when they adopt it!
I love the diamond and lace striplet, it is just so versatile, I only wish I owned it along with the Portugese Collection but maybe they will feature in your next shows. I have dusted off my spot for this little beauty but I am not going to employ any underhand tactics to persuade you to let me be its 'mummy' because I now believe this kind of approach to be common and distasteful. Instead, I will put my trust in fate and hope that karma will take into account my tireless charity work with the underprivileged:-)
I am most definitely doing the happy dance, in such a way as to not cause injury, because my dies have been delivered by my gorgeous and prompt Postie-it took all of my self control not to jump him when I spied the rectangular brown envelope in his hand, I am sure that he would much rather face a rabid Rottweiler than a Sue Wilson maniac foaming at the mouth with excited anticipation!
I now have a special folder to house all of my current and future Christmas themed dies in the knowledge that I am sometimes so scarily organised that I am verging on lunacy!
Yvonne and Diane, of course you still iron jeans...skinny or loose fit, though even I draw a line at putting in a central crease because that's just sooo seventies darling!
Wheelybad and Alimecca, hope you are feeling a bit brighter today, sending warm, healing hugs your way girlsxxxx
I'm off to put the finishing touches on a birthday card before silently stroking my new dies....I did say that I was a lunatic:-)

    Love and crafty hugs,

    Laine1972xxxxxx

  159. Such a stunner of a card in aqua and white with added shimmer with the mica powder! Your Stacked Diamond Striplet die set is a delight to work with; and looks so different when cut out this way into today's card. So much detail went into this card. I am so glad you write out the steps for us Wilsonettes. I would have missed a couple of steps! Congratulations on the nomination for "Designer of the Year 2015". I eagerly await September so I can vote for you.
