Congratulations

Hi crafters!  I love the way this card turned out but I know it won't be everyone's taste.  Gold, black and milk card are the colour combo (in case it doesn't show up correctly on your monitor).  Using the Stacked Diamond Striplet, I cut four of them out of vintage gold card using both pieces to the die.  Next I used jut the shaped cutting edge and cut four black backing pieces and glued them all together.  I added mounting foam to the backs of each of them, then glued them into a square configuration.  I covered a piece of black card with a sticky adhesive sheet then coated it with Ebony Ice.  I seated the striplet square over it so that it filled up the centre open area in the square.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it with the Pierced Flags die.  I backed it with a larger black flag and used a gold paint pen along the edges.  Using the Perfect Peonies, I cut several different sizes out of black card and used the gold paint pen around the edges of each of them.  I formed each of the petals and glued a black Dazzler to the centre.  I seated it on some black tulle and added Maidenhair fern around it.  I pierced a white mat layer, then added a thin gold and black mat before finishing with a wider white mat and pearls in the corners.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
What a way to start the week.
As you know I'm not a lover of gifts on the darker side in colour but I do appreciate the format you have used today.
Your striplet dies are wonderful to work with and never fail to give a beautiful finish.

We have sunshine here this morning after a weekend of rain and dark skies. At the moment it is a lovely temp and so fingers crossed that it will stay at this level so I can get some crafting done.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  90. Top of the morning to you Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,

Long time no see! I've had a super busy weekend and with one thing and another I've been unable to comment for a couple of days.
Back with avengance though and what a stunning card to be greeted with. Okay, so the dramatic, opulent tones of the black and gold may not be to everyone's taste but I disagree, I love the rich, bold contrast. The diamond and lace striplet is a little gem and I really must get the peonies dies because I could do with an alternative to the camellias. I feel that this would be an excellent card for any men in your life, I used the midnight snow on my brothers 40th birthday card and it is simply gorgeous in real life. Even if the black card isn't to your taste, this is a design that would work just as well with softer tones....it's a winner for me Sue!
Had many appointments over the past few days, plus a visit from my niece-we went to the Milk Barn, a farm shop and ice cream parlour on the Scottish Icecream Trail and then to the Caledonian Cheesecake Company so many thousands of calories later and I can feel my waistbands tightening as we speak. I even indulged in some cheesecake for breakfast yesterday:-)Yum!
I didn't get my tarty/sophisticated? Red nail polish on Friday, I opted for the classier option of pastel purple with a shimmer and some nail art using pastel tones of mica powder...even nail technicians craft embellishments to enhance their work, no diamond snow though but some lovely craft glitter!
I had a challenging night last night with my little 'angel' Darcey who decided to stay out until 6.30am! There I was at 1.30am, in my dressing gown, trying to cajole her inside with a saucer of prawns but to no avail. I now have bags under my eyes as heavy as the luggage carousel at an airport! And she has the cheek to look as fresh as a daisy!:-(
I think I might abandon the ironing until tomorrow and have a lazy day today with some cross stitch duties-it's my Mums 71st next month and I'll be lucky to finish it before Christmas! Stitching a photo of my cats is the most challenging process I have faced, I have 50 colour changes to contend with and I am wishing that they were black and white rather than tabbys!
Beth and Debs, hope you enjoy your breaks away, you will be missedxxx
Yvonne, great to hear that you are almost back in the land of the living, your cheek and banter had been sadly missedxxx
Molly, wish your Grandad the best of luck with his tests and start of his next batch of treatmentxxx
Hope you are continuing to enjoy your break Sue, look forward to the launch of Phase 2 of the Christmas diexxxx

    Love and crafty hugs,

  118. Good afternoon Sue and the Wilsonettes,
Although i haven't up until now seen the need for this striplet to be on my most wanted list, after todays prize it has been entered at number 3 as it is just so versatile. A opulent looking card done in the gold and black Sue which would be great for our more stylish friends that don't have as much fun in them as others that we know or even for those pesky men that have me in tatters just trying to make something up suitable for them. Please can we have a section of making these pests cards as i don't suppose i am the only one that is at a loss trying to make something suitable that doesn't involve sparkles or flowers or bows.
Molly, i have my fingers and everything that i can cross crossed for your grandad as well sweetheart and i hope that your Nan and Grandad gets the news they are hoping for. Sending lots of love, hugs and prayers their way.
Well i have my little visitor with me who i see is going to be a proper boy as his eyes just lit up upon Lightening McQueen coming on the childrens channel, his wee eyes following the cars with his wee head going from side to side. I have been writting this since 12.45 with a few interuptions like feeding changing and trying to get a certain party to sleep so i will go now, have a great day everyone with love and hugs to all my angels that need, want or could just do with one
    love and crafty hugs

  121. A very elegant and sophisticated card today in the black, gold, and milk card. I like your stacked Diamond Striplet die cut. I cut some diamonds out last week for a card and found this set to be easy to cut cleanly and beautiful. I am a happy crafter when that happens! Wishing all a fantastic week.

  122. Hi Sue, this is indeed a very dramatic card and I love the way you make your striplets work for you. I am picturing it made in chocolate or chestnut brown instead of black but can also see it in pastel colours. It's a great design and I think it is up to the individual as to which colours they prefer to use.

  124. To borrow a word you have been known to use, Sue, LUSH !! Like the dark influence a lot and would have gone a step further and used black pearls. Clever use of the striplet and the flower and leaves somewhat decadent. Definitely a thumbs up from me!
Yvonne G - sounds as though you are starting to improve, back to normal soon - hopefully.
Deb C - happy holiday when it comes!
Molly, your nan is a wise lady, wait for the reviews to come through for the TODO - it's an awful lot of money just to get foil embossing as an extra, clever though it is. Hope all goes well for your granddad.

  127. Hi Sue this really is a beautiful card today and I love the rich colours you have used. It took me a few minutes to register it was a striplet die, I thought you had cut out lots of squares at first glans! Thank you for sharing, this really is a beauty.

I'm crazy about the color combo used and I can also see that it would be lovely in various colors. My first go at it would definitely be the black and gold tho. It just looks so rich & lush!
