Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi bloggers!  You probably figured that this card would be the next up for grabs!  Fresh from it's demo appearance on my shows last week, it is looking for a really good home.  Just leave a comment on this post to be entered in the drawing for it.  I will announce the winner of Saturday's blog post.  I cut two of the Regal Striplet using just the inside decorative die to create a background.  I used spray glue to adhere them to another piece of coconut white card, then used Polar White Sparkle Texture paste to grout it and let it dry for several hours.  Next I cut the frame using the Classic Adorned Rectangle set and the new Blue Dusk card (very similar to Periwinkle but a bit lighter).  I raised it with mounting foam and placed it over my grouted background once it was dry, trimming away the excess from below the frame.  Next I used the scalloped edge die that is part of the Lavish Swirls diagonal die set to add a fine border all the way around the edge of a coconut white backing card.  I seated the frame on it and added some pearls in the corners.  I cut the Thank you die in both white and black and offset the black die ever so slightly to look like a shadow.  I backed it with the oval cut out of Blue Dusk card and glued it in the centre of the frame.  Next I made a single Cornflower by cutting 2 each of several sizes and gluing them together and then adding a black 8mm Dazzler to the centre.  I seated it on a blue satin bow, some white tulle and two of the Splendid Swirls as embellishments.  Finally I made two matching stick pins and added them to my bow.  I did my usual piercing around the edge before adding a thin blue and black mat and finishing with a white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    Morning Sue
What a wonderful blue that new card is - definitely on my wish list. I don't think it matters how much card/paper we have we always need more.

I love today's gift. Of course it's a winner how can it not be you have used your Noble Dies again. They are just wonderful to use and give fantastic results eg today's gift. I haven't grouted as yet so must get round to trying that technique.
As usual my SW space is dusted off in great anticipation.

We have had rain all night and it's very grey this morning so the fields must be feeling a lot better!!

It's a cooking day today so I'm off to start.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

What a lovely card to wake up to this morning. The colour combination is one of my favourites and the cornflower is gorgeous. Cornflowers are actually one of my favourite flowers and the die was a must have when you introduced it. It does make a beautiful flower. I remember seeing this on the shows last week and really liked it so pleased to see it today.
At last we have a bit of sunshine - let's hope it lasts( although not sure the forecast is that good!)

  44. Good morning Sue,

Well, today's card would be very welcome to come and share my home with me. She's so beautiful, loving everything about her from the colour combo to the gorgeous cornflowers.

Back home now after a fantastic 4 day weekend Family Reunion in Bristol. I cannot fault the Hotel or the staff, everything that I had asked from the planning stages to the actual weekend was over and above what I imagined. Family flew in from the USA and Germany to wet rainy weather, but we didn't let that dampen our fun.

Off to the Café now, whatever you are doing remember to leave some time 'me-time' for yourselves.

    Love & hugs

  52. gorgeous card Sue. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong, I bought the cornflower die as soon as it came out, but mine look like I've ripped the paper and nothing like Sues card today. I love making flowers but am baffled why mine look so awful. Do I need to cut into the cut leaves to make them thinner, as mine are really thick and don't look very nice at all.
Hope someone can give me some ideas.

  53. Morning Sue
Loved it when I saw you demo this card and love it even more now. I will be able to recreate this exquisite offering once my delivery arrives from C & C. Love a blue white combo and this new blue dusk shade is beautiful
I am more than happy to give this card a good home. I will talk to it every day and stroke it lovingly on a regular basis. After all, a Sue card is for life.

My spa afternoon was really lovely. I have perfectly painted finger and toe nails. Red - classy or possibly tarty - trying to decide. Lol. The jacuzzi was wonderful until 2 tall, young, leggy, bronzed, blonde, non cellulited beauties decided to join us in there. Was feeling quite glamorous up until that point then my straying mind jumped very quickly back into my 47 year old head. We didn't stay in the jacuzzi long after that. Apart from that little episode of feeling old, short and remembering my youth fondly we had a fantastic time.

    Theresa - I didn't have bubbly. Decided to have apple juice - I'm a good girl x

Diane - very relaxing thanks. Even uncrossed things for a while x

Lorraine - now now. I'm a little disappointed that you can even imply that you are possibly more superior than the current chair of BCAS. I had been thinking of allowing you to be part of the commitee, but I feel that it might be best if you become a lowly member and then you will have to work your way up the ranks on merit. You may have cheekbones that can cut paper but I have a tongue that can wound severely so prove your worth and I will consider your promotion. On a brighter note did your parcel arrive? Mine didn't but fingers crossed it will today. Hope your hospital visit was ok x

Fluffy cat - apple juice - clear head - BCAS is still in safe hands x

Saba - couldn't possibly offer you a senior position in front of the other applicants - I will give you some thought x

Magpie - you disappoint me - thought you had more fight in you. What about a position in an advisory capacity? x

Deb C - Military training? Well I think I've just found me a bodyguard. A very necesssary requirement I think considering the kind of activities the BCAS will be participating in x

Wheely Bad - not tempted to apply? Happy Birthday to hubby x

I think that there has been enough talk of BCAS. After all we could start giving away secrets to anyone who is thinking of beginning their own rival society. Time to start planning to put your money where your mouth is. Any of you aspiring members hoping to attend Ally Pally? I think it would be lovely if we could possibly make arrangements to have a meeting if anyone is game. Let me know x

Getting impatient for my new toys now. Hope my courier makes an appearance today.
    Have a Wowzer Wednesday everyone
    Crafty hugs

  68. Hi Sue,

Loved this card when I saw it on C&C - very classy and elegant but I also love how the shaggy cornflower adds that little touch of informality...and texture pastes are great fun to work with and much easier/less messy than I thought when I first bought mine and also surpisingly thrifty as like loose glitter most of it is scraped off and goes back in the pot so a definite must-have in anyone's crafty arsenal...

However I have all the dies, card stock to make this card so I think I will give it a go. Looking forward to your next shows when you return.

  158. Good evening Sue and Wilsonette babes!

A little late for me today, where has the day gone? I loved your demonstration last week, the colour-yes, I managed to get the card- the composition- I also managed to get the Noble Rectangle-and the grouting technique is ingenious. Can I just point out that I LOVED IT SO MUCH that I e mailed C&C only to be pipped at the post by another candidate! I am a worthy recipient Sue, I am childless and able to devote the time , care and attention this little gem will need to flourish in its new environment. It will be loved and cherished in a way that an only child would be, so please consider me for adoption, you would make my dreams come true!
Yippee! My parcel was delivered at lunchtime and since I had an afternoon to myself I could play to my hearts content all afternoon, with Brodies help of course, he could see that I was struggling with the triple bow and felt he had to step in and intervene- after a minor cufuffle I retrieved the now frayed ribbon to complete my task in another room!
Yvonne, don't be disheartened by the blonde babes, I find that discreet industrial strength taping in those looser places can achieve a comparablely taught, firm silhouette ! Everything went south when I hit 30 and I find that short of full body reconstruction a bit of deception can go a long way....just don't take your clothes off unless the room is in complete darkness!
Please reconsider my executive post to the BCAS team, I am sure that our joint experience in the field of duty would prove mutually beneficial.
Which brings me neatly on to Deb C, I feel that your military expertise would be invaluable during reconosance duties and your skills would be highly beneficial during interrogation and retrieval of suitable memorabilia!
Wheels Bad, hope your hubby enjoys his day, I find a bottle of Prosecco fits the bill nicely when I want to forget my advancing dotage:-)
Hope everyone patiently awaiting a delivery have been as lucky as I have today, have a lovely evening my lovelies

    Crafty hugs and kisses,

    Laine1972xxxxxxx
