Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  I have a bit of a fancy card for the giveaway today!  There is a lot going on, but I just love the way it all came together and hope you will like it too.  Just leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one.  I started by embossing a piece of coconut white card using the Leafy Quad embossing folder.  I used Polar White Sparkle Texture Paste and paper grouted it for a bit of extra bling.  I set it aside to dry for a while then cut four of the Portuguese borders out of white card.  When the background was fully dry, I hooked the centres of the borders over the top and had them meet in the corners which I tucked behind.  The borders provide a pretty, and fancy frame for my background.  Next I used the Classic Adorned Design Noble to create a debossed frame.  I cut it in the middle to make it a bit shorter, then taped it back together and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I stamped my sentiment using a Black Archival ink pad on coconut white card.  I cut two of the Petite Arched Adornment and added them to the inside of the frame with the straight edges lining the sentiment.  I stamped a variety of the Perfect Peony flowers in black ink on sky blue card and cut them out with the matching dies.  I stamped the leaves and inked the with Forest Moss after cutting them with the matching leaf dies.  I assembled the flowers and arranged them in opposite corners on my frame, taking card to conceal the cut line in the frame.  I matted my background on sky blue card to add a bit more colour, then added my usual matting and layering with piercing to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8 1/4"  x  8 1/4" in size.  The winners name will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Only about an hour since I commented on yesterdays card.
This strikes me as being a little different from a typical 'Sue' creation but it is really delightful. I love the Perfect Peonies and when stamped like that they are super stunning.
Have a lovely day everyone and take care. To everyone who is under the weather - hang in there.

    Morning Sue
A beautiful summer gift to start a lovely summer's day. Once again you prove that all your dies right from the very first launch to the latest do all the work for you and all we need is a little inspiration 99% from you and the remaining 1% our and we never fail to make a beautiful gift for that someone special. So please can you keep your fantastic combination of dies and inspiration coming as we are completely lost without them.

We had a cooler day yesterday but back to full sunshine this morning and the promise of a lovely day ahead.
To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  87. Hi Sue & Wilsonettes...

What a simply gorgeous card today & I love the way it has come together...sometimes it is nice to step outside the norm & go with a little bit more & with the Portuguese Border & other dies & flowers this does work for me.

I'm so glad that I have the Peony flower dies & matching stamps as they really do give stunning effects especially more so if stamped onto clear or coloured Vellum, embossed with Emboss powder, left to dry & then cut out with matching Peony dies. I obtained mine a while ago from Julia Watts web-site (Creative Expressions Kettering HQ). If not available from Julia or JS then try Craft World in Glasgow, they are usually pretty well stocked with Sues products.

Luckily my Steve has a day off Thursday 2nd July so have managed to book in at C E HQ Kettering for Sue's demo 3.30-4.30...finish work at 2pm so home freshen up & off to learn much & to enjoy.

He also has tomorrow off (unusually) so I will be out in the garden with Lauren pretty early hoping to catch a wee from her...so watch this space & please wish me luck...from previous experience of getting a sample from her this should be very lengthy & entertaining experience...lol...

LESLEY...I really feel for you Hun...Sending you (((((HUGS))))) & sincerely wish you on the mend soon x x x

Thank you as always Sue for sharing your amazing talent with us & guiding us with your inspiration...wishing you & yours a lovely day x x x

To all the lovely Wilsonettes I wish you all a lovely day & for those who would like I send (((((hugs & Smiles))))) x x x

    Love Beth B x x x

  112. Top of the morning to you Sue,

What a fantastically intricate card, it is like a work of art that you can stare at for hours and keep seeing something new. I love how you have utilised the border die and attached it in such a novel way. The Peony dies are lush and could well overtake the camellias as my favourites.
Paper grouting is a technique that I haven't tried as yet, it looks a bit messy and would challenge my OCD tendencies but it is so effective that I really should invest in so me texture paste soon.
My MOT at the GPs had a few hiccups-need an ECG and full set of bloods to check why I have heart irregularities and cramping in my arms and legs. It is just precautionary cos I have had a couple of heart attacks in the past, but it could just be my electrolyte balance that's askew.
Hope you feel better soon Lesley, I have gall stones and there is no pain quite like it so I can really empathise with your predicament.
Good luck with your mission in retrieving Lauren's pee Beth, it should be comical if nothing else-it is so much easier with cats but I have my fingers crossed that all will be well. I am really enjoying reading everyone's little anecdotes it brightens up the predictably cloudy, drizzly days suffered north of the border. All of my local craft shops and classes have now closed so I really miss interacting with like minded people, whilst my family love my creations they don't quite share my obsession with card, glitter and bling. Does anybody else have stashes of paper that they just like to look at cos it is too beautiful too cut? :-) maybe I do need help.........!LoL

    Love and crafty hugs,

  126. Hi Sue and lovely Wilsonettes
another sunny day, hooray again! Such a gorgeous card today, I won Portuguese border a while back and am so thankful for the inspiration, it's really pretty used like this holding on to the edges. I think this card has a Victorian feel to it with the lacey dies and stamped flowers, love the colours and the sparkle from the grouting. I really need to sort my craft space out so I can have a go at this, not much room to work at the moment. Adding stamps & dies to my list as I type lol.
Lesley, how awful for you. Sending healing prayers.
Beth, hope your wee sample collecting is successful.
Alison, hope the mess isn't too bad, it'll all be worth it.
Sending love to all and special hugs for all who need them, blessings
    Deb C xx

Hope you feel better soon Lesley (Thomas). Hug for you.

  136. Hi Sue,
So much going on in this creation of yours but it all ties together awesomely.
Although I only have both sets of peony dies, I have managed to make some gorgeous ones with different papers and they all look fantastic on my card. My stamping not much good, I either use too much pressure or none at all so I think i'll stick with my paper stash.
Lorraine, I too have many stashes of papers that I love so much, I get them out think to myself 'oh no I have to CUT this!' And they go back. One day they might get used.
Love & hugs to all those of us in pain and discomfort, may your day be kinder to you.
A huge basket of warm fuzzy (((hugs))) are waiting for a pair of arms to jump into. Help yourselves to as any as you like.

  147. Good afternoon Sue and Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue i do love this card that you have made for our delight today. The Portuguese border looks like an antique linen lace napkin and the flowers on top are just so beautiful. I find today's card very apt as it is just sometimes you find out who your real friends are and their metal and i am so pleased that all because of you i have found some beautiful friends that really pick you up when you are so down and you can't go any further. So i am sending hugs to all those going through the mill the now from a drizzly day here at Costa de Glenochil
    Love and crafty hugs

  148. Hello Sue

What a beautiful card. The Portuguese border is so pretty and delicate.

I always love flowers on cards, and these are extra special with the stamping detail.

Lesley, I can definitely empathise with your pain. I had gallstones and was ill for ages without a diagnosis. Then collapsed in agony and had emergency op to remove them and my gallbladder. The consensus at the time was to have gallstones you would probably be fair, fat and forty. I was dark, thin and 25! Get well soon.
