You're Amazing

Hello crafters!  Today is the day that I will be doing the drawing for the free die giveaways.  I am hoping to get it all finished and posted by mid to late afternoon today so be sure to check back later to see if your name is among the winners! For today's card, I have a pretty one from the Scandinavian and Striplet collections.  I started with the Floral Meadow Striplet and cut it on either side of my background without the outside cutting edge,  I inked through the die after embossing it with Tattered Rose distress ink to give the flowers a bit of colour.  I mounted my background on foam and adhered it to another piece of coconut white card.  For the focal element, I cut two of the Copenhagen dies in white and nipped it in apart so that there was a longer and a shorter side to it.  I then rearranged them so that the two longer ends were placed top and bottom and the two shorted pieces  were layered on top, filling in the open space.  I stamped the Floral Flourish stamp using a clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I inked it with Tattered Rose distress ink and added some detail to the flowers on the stamp with Distress markers.  I cut it out with the oval centre die from the Scandinavian background and mounted it in the middle to disguise the cut ends of the die cuts.  I finished the card with flat back pearls in the flowers and a couple of white mats.  I used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to make dots all the way around to frame the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2"  x  9" in size.  Don't forget to check back later today!  All for now, Sue x

  9. Hi Sue,
That striplet die is beautiful. The flowers look like they have the open petal finish to them, but it is just inked through. Very clever.
Best of luck everyone. I wish we all could win later today.

  12. Good morning Sue & friends,
Such a pretty card today Sue, lots of girly, feminine touches, I am lucky enough to have both the striplet die and the Copenhagen die set so I may do a 'version' of this card myself, I think that we the dies we really want, then a new set appears so we forget about the older ones, I make myself challenges to use only older die sets to make a card, for instance I would decide to use only the Califorrnian set of dies! That we I am ensuring that I use all of Sue's fabulous collection!
I do hope these new dies are selling well in the shops Sue, I know that some of the more popular online retailers have had sell outs!
I look forward to reading the list of winners later on Sue, so exciting to see familiar names!
    Good luck everyone!
    Hugs

  22. Good morning Sue & all wilsonettes... well Sue what can I say...yet again I have arrived here to find yet another sparkling GEM...perhaps we ought to rename this Sue's Treasure Blog....because that's what it is for every day & every work of Art (craft card) is an absolute Gem. Everything about this card is so eye catching...from the soft colours, the die cutting technique to the delicate flowers...I found a site that might be able to help with dies my fellow crafters...it is Inky Finger Zone...Julia Watts has a lovely gallery of cards, a shop & she occasionally advertises workshops...never been to one & I had planned to go on Monday but my husbands shift has been changed & as I do not drive then sadly I have to put that aside for another day...will be thinking of you all today..Take care...Love Beth B x x x

What a beautiful card it is so pretty, when I first saw it I too thought you had put some of the smaller Camelia flowers on the panel. All your striplet dies make it so easy for us to make beautiful cards, the only difficulty is choosing which one to use or buy next. Sandra that's a good idea about using older dies, I'm guilty of forgetting about them and seem to only use the new ones so thanks for the idea.

    Morning Sue
We have lovely sunshine this morning and fingers crossed that it will stay visiting for the day.

Oh Sue what a beautiful way to finish the working week for some and encouragement for those who have to work through the week-end.

At the moment I still do not have this striplet but it's slowly but surely coming my way. Each and every time I see it it wows me. I love your colour palette white with the little hint of colour is always a winner in my book.
I'll be in later to see the results of today.

I'm afraid that as it's Friday housework calls before any crafting so the sooner I get on with it the soone I can sit and craft. I'm sure a lot of you know the saying 'Housework Whenever Crafting Forever'.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  116. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Oh Sue this is a very pretty, delicate looking feminine card today. So beautiful with the flowers highlighted from the striplet and with the frames in the centre so lacy and with such filigree, they just look lovely. Thank you Sue for such a pretty start to the day and for continuing to inspire us each and every day like you do. Your blog is such a lovely way to greet the day each morning and does fill a lot of lives with such beauty that they would otherwise miss.
Well don't we have an interesting day with the TV and i don't think. I have turned on my old faithful which i do most days and that is the radio. BBC 4extra is filled with the old and new, plays, dramas, funnies, even an odd quiz. Although only 48 i was brought up imagining the stories that the radio brought to life. I think now of the times of listening to the stories and think that it would benefit todays youngsters greatly by bringing their imagination to life that you help them through out the rest of their lives. Imagination is a wonderful thing as the things that take to our minds as we see ourselves actually at the places or similar places from years gone bye.
Well i am going to have a rake through Sue's old posts to give me some inkling into making 2 80th birthday cards and a wedding card for one of the said 80ths who gets married the day after his birthday, good luck to him i say.
Well i will go and leave you all with hugs for all my angels,
    love and crafty hugs

  128. Morning Sue and the lovely Wilsonettes,

What a gorgeously intricate card to end the week with-I am fortunate enough to have these dies in my stash and I will definitely be attempting to recreate this little beauty for some upcoming birthdays.
My birthday is in 10 days and I asked my Mum to make a card for me instead of buying one-her response was incredulous, stating that she would prefer me to make my own!!?!??! Such is the life of a crafter I guess!
    Have a wondrous day girls,

    Big crafty hugs,

  147. Hi Sue

Super pretty, feminine card, the Copenhagen dies look like lace at first glance and also at my first glance I thought you'd used a patterned paper (the size of a mobile screen gives some fascinating first glances!) but it was the little flowers on the striplet coloured in! I love the resist affect from the ink over the embossing powder, those stamps are perfect for that.

Good luck everyone for the draw later xxx

Sun is shining, I've been ultra efficient today and de scaled the kettle. Time for a rest now and I'll see what happens after! I hope whatever you are all doing you have a lovely day x

Hugs to every single one of you, there's plenty here for everyone with extra if they're needed,

  151. Hi Sue. Love the card, I have the striplet die, so although I don't have the other die, I am sure I can find something similar in my small collection to try to emulate the card.
I don't have the Cosmic Shimmer PVA glue, I have tried other makes to do the little pearl drops, without success, they look ok to begin with, but then they just collapse. I am going to Happy Stampers in Port Sunlight, with my daughter, tomorrow, so may get the item there.
I don't know if you know about Happy Stampers Festivals, but they hold a festival in spring and Autumn each year in Port Sunlight, LiverPool. We have been going to these days for the past 4 years, and we always have a lovely time, spending more than we should. Don't know if we will find anyone selling your dies, but it will be nice if we do.

  167. Hi Sue. This is such a lovely card today !! I really love it all. Your Meadow Striplet Die looks beautiful used in this way, either side of the card. I love the way you have highlighted the little flowers with the Tattered Rose distress ink, it looks great Sue !! The middle focal area using the Scandinavian Copenhagen Die is sooo very pretty and delicate looking !! I love the final centre oval with white on white embossing and finised to perfection using more of the Distress ink. I know you say that the layer of card underneath the striplet dies is white but on my screen it actually looks like the Spring Green foundations card. I think a coloured card underneath the stiplet dies would look equally lovely !! Thank you Sue for another lovely card today. It is always such a pleasure to come and look at your new card each day, and also have the instructions of how to make it to !! Take care Sue. Lots of love from Tres x x x
