Ivy Trellis

Hello crafters!  Today's video shows how to use the Greek Island Background easily.  Part of the die is designed with a deboss feature to it and I show how to use it simply.   It really is a simple card, but with beautiful results that I am sure you will love.

Buy from Joanna Sheen

The finished dimensions are 5 3/4" x  7 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  25. Good Morning Sue and all you lovely Wilsonettes.

The sun is shining here in my little corner of Somerset and I'm feeling fine.
Thank you all for such lovely comments and congratulations yesterday. We now have 5 generations back on our Family tree.

A beautiful card Sue, love the ivy. Although it is a pest in my garden, I do like ivy on cards, it suggests longevity for whomsoever receives a card with it on.
I wasn't too sure about the die when it first came out, but you have shown me to look at differently now, I am very impressed.

I don't have a wish list because the one wish I would dearly like to be granted would never ever come true. So I am now a 'Seize The Day' person and when I find it, who knows?, it could just throw itself into my basket.
My wish for those of us under the weather, that today will be kind to you and yours.
    Love & hugs

    Morning Sue
Today's gift is so elegant and you have just shown me that it can be either dressed up or down depending on the occasion and gender.
When you launched these dies I too wasn't quite sure but I just needed to be shown how you can use it. I think it's going on my list of needs which by the way is just getting longer and longer.

At the moment here it is dry but the clouds are black so I think it may be a stay in day and perhaps have a play day crafting. I'm up to date on bday gifts so can try out one or two things.

To all in pain and suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

I love this die and every time I use it it gives me stunning cards. It also makes such lovely sympathy cards, something that unfortunately we shall all need at one time or another.
But what with the wine theme (because Greek) it certainly can be used for more joyous occasions.

  135. Hi Sue,
Gorgeous! I really loved this background die when you launched your new collection. Now I've seen this card, I really think I must have it. Goes really well with the ivy die too.
Camellia, really lovely to have you back with us - missed you.
Had a lovely afternoon with friends. - always lovely to go to a 5 star hotel ( not that I do it often!) good excuse to get dressed up. Birthday celebrations almost over - just got London to look forward to. Have had a lovely birthday this year although there has been the sadness too.
Sending love and hugs to all, Alison xx

  138. Video running perfectly now, Sue, and time to watch it properly. Thank you so much, full of inspiration, and love how the inking brings out the deboss so well. Altogether such a gentle card, topped with your lovely felt flower for the finishing touch. Am very fond of the trailing ivy dies, so pleased to have them.
Sam - wonder if you have internet access at all? Hope you are feeling a lot better, having a great time and enjoying your special birthday!

  142. Such a lovely card Sue and I have this die! Wasn't sure when I first saw the die but then saw a card made with it and decided to buy it. Didn't know about cutting the did out first but that makes sense having seen the video. Thank you for showing us.

  147. Hi Sue & Wilsonettes...apologies for the lateness of comment for this card but I had a heck of a busy morning then a workshop to attend with Julia Watts & John...for a first time it was really great...

As always Sue your creativity is outstanding, I have quite a lot of your Dies but not this background although it is lovely...especially the centre trellis...I simply couldn't visualize making a card from this but how you have proved me wrong...just watching your video has triggered off some ideas on what I could with this die...so guess what is next on my list.

What a great idea to ink the backing card to match your colour design...I tried it once but it didn't look right at all...but watching your video I realised it was because the border of inking was too wide & your demonstration shows that you only need a narrow border to show it off to its best.

Thank you for sharing your lovely creation & the video...it certainly has helped me to learn some new things today.

    Take care & hugs & smiles sent to you & yours & to all Wilsonettes...love Beth B x x x
