  13. Hi Sue. Thank you for reminding me that I need to buy some more glossyness (is that even a word) ? Its quite amazing what a difference it makes to your cards. And I just love how you have bought your ivy die to life in your video tutorial today. I do have the ivy but unfortunatly not the Rhodes, never mind I can improvise with another.
Hope you are having a productive time whilst having some family/leisure time too. Thank you once again for a lovely, inspirational video and look forward to Thursday's too.

    Morning Sue
    We have Sunshine!!!!
Your gift today is just beautiful. A simple format with your dies doing all the work just like you need them to do.

As you know border dies are not my favourite but having seen the Ivy one today I think it's going to be a must purchase and with the Season coming up I think it would be so so useful.

It's Knit and Natter day today so will have to be off to sort things out in between one or two laundry jobs.

Sue do you have the dates for your next visit to C&C? please.

To all in pain and suffering today I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  74. Good morning Wilsonettes & a very good morning to you Sue...

Have just enjoyed watching your fabulous video & what an eye opener with regards to inking the card first, as someone else mentioned I would have done the exact same & used green card stock or inked whilst in the die...but your video shows a much better, less messy way & as you say it gives it a more realistic look to the ivy.

My eyes when I first viewed your gorgeous card were immediately drawn to the Ivy Borders which then in a very clever way left the beautiful centrepiece open to be made from other S W inner dies other than the Rhodes.

Thank you so much for sharing with us Sue...you are an exceptionally generous person to give your time making time consuming videos so that we also have a visual of your remarkable genius, you are an inspiration to us all.

I shall be using my smoothies for this & for the sentiment stamping...I never realised that when I included the smoothie tip it would help so many, & they truly are the best thing since sliced bread...lol...but at the same time it is good that it has helped confirm to you that they are a product worth having, especially if your inking is not so great like mine...lol

Then again they do say an artist is only as good as his tools will allow him to be....lol

Alison keep smiling Hun because if you can give yourself a wee smile every day then one day you will realise that happier memories of your aunt are in the forefront. X x x

To any Wilsonettes who needs a hug & smile, get ready to catch as they are coming your way.

To everyone please enjoy your day. Take care love Beth x x x

  91. Hi Sue, a beautiful card and I love the inlay technique. Not something I have tried before but there is a first time for everything. I have used your tip for inking white card with two or three colour pads lots of times now, not just for ivy but for leaves and swirls as well. It works a treat and looks so much more realistic than a plain piece of card does. Love the glossy leaves and see that I must now get some lacquer. Hoping to receive the Canadian background and some of the new Finishing Touches dies tomorrow ready for play-time at the week-end.

Enjoyed the video and the techniques shown on it. Thank you for the video. I will have to try replacing the apeture around the cut away pieces.

Well, I must give you an update on my attempt of your lovely "Thanks So Much" card. I have my version completed except for the flowers which I will make today. Not having the dies you used, I used some of the dies of yours that I do have on hand. The following are the dies I used: Noble die - Ornate Pierced Rectangles, CED5502; Gemini die- Carina, CED 4405; Caribbean Island Collection - St Kitts, CED5204; Finishing Touches - Camellia, Complete Petals, CED1421; Spun Sugar Distressed Ink, a glitter that I think is close to your Iced Snow. Finished card: 6 x 7 3/8 inches. I am very pleased with the results with the combination that I selected. I will try this card again when my order of the dies you used arrive at my door. I found a company here in the US that has the dies you used up for sale on their site. I ordered them last night. Thank you for such a beautiful card!!!

  129. Hi Sue,
Really lovely card. - love the ivy and I do agree it would make a lovely sympathy card.
Beth, I am trying to follow your advice. I've been out for lunch with some of the staff from my last school who had also bought me a lovely present - some Pandora earrings, bless them. It was lovely to see them again. On Thursday I am off to Rockcliffe Hall (5 star hotel in Darlington) for afternoon tea with friends from my first teaching school. Myself and one of the others are treating everyone to celebrate our 60 th birthdays, so really looking forward to that. I do remember my aunt and some of the daft things that she would do and find myself having a little giggle so I suppose the healing process has begun.
Love and hugs to you all, Alison xxx

Well I am late agin, enjoyed your video very much, especially how you achieved the inlaid effect which looks fabulous, especially with the high gloss on your ivy. It is a beautiful clean looking card and like Janet, I think I need this die for the dare I mention it......Christmas cards.

Alison, so pleased to hear you can look back fondly and have a giggle. Your aunt will be smiling down at you.

  147. Hi Sue. Oooooh this is a fab card and video today !! I love it all !! The video is great Sue and so easy to understand. I love the way you have used different inks straight on to a piece of card before cutting the ivy dies. It gives such a realistic blended look. I also love the way you have glossed them with clear lacker to really make them stand out on your card. Your inlaid technique looks great. I am not sure I could get my ivy to look as good as yours though !! The Rhodes dies look really beautiful Sue. Another die set for my wish list !! I think this is a really great card Sue and would be great for many different occasions, including a mans card or a sympathy card to. Thank you for sharing today and for all your continued hard work to bring us the best cards, inspiration, dies and videos !! I just don't know what I would do without you !! I hope you are having a good time with your family. Take care. Sending you lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x
