Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi guys!  Now that things are back to usual, it is another Wednesday card giveaway!  This card was the first demo that I did on the weekender shows.  I really liked the way it came out with the shadow effect.  I started by cutting two of the Scandinavian backgrounds, one in coconut white card an one in black card.  I added mounting foam between them to raise it a bit for dimension but you could just glue them together offsetting them to create the drop shadow effect.  I cut out the centre of the die with scissors so that I could recess the sentiment down a bit further. I stamped the sentiment on white card and centred it behind the cut out opening and glued it into place.  Next I cut a frame by using the outside die from the Oslo die set and the inside die from the Stockholm set.  I added mounting foam to the back and attached it over the sentiment area.  I cut a bunch of the smallest sizes of the Complete Camellia and formed them, glued a black pearl centre and arranged them around the sentiment (even a few on to the frame where I had gotten a smudge mark!)  I added my finishing mats and did the Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots around the edge of the inside white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6 1/4" x 8 1/4" in size.  Leave a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win this one.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post!  All for now, Sue x

  9. Morning Sue. Im so glad that your dies were appreciated so much over the weekend, I know I dont have many myself but I thought I was the minority, I was shocked that so many crafter's hadn't got them. I suppose that because we now have the Spring 2015 collection to be excited about, your previous collection seem 'old' now !! Hope you all understand what im trying to say lol I know what I mean lol.
Anyway it was great to hear so many familiar names, Pam, Jan, Patricia, Barbie and Sandra (forgive me for not mentioning more) and for Pam to win this card just topped off the hour for me with a big cheesy grin : ) that's 2 in one week Pam well done.
I agree, the CSDC glue IS invisible with vellum providing you use a drop and spread, sounds like a dance craze.
Its a beauty, and yet again the photography is superb.
    Love to you all.

  14. Great card, Sue, love the dropped shadow and the teeny camellia flowers. Like the way you have chopped out the centre (gasp!) to recess the sentiment.
Received the Noble PR's yesterday, oh my they are nice, but couldn't resist re-pricking the pierced edges for more definition!

    Morning Sue
I saw you do today's gift on Sat and loved it then. I have to say that I 'cringe' when I see you cut into your gorgeous dies as I always think they are just too beautiful to distress in any way. Your colour palette is beautiful and so not in your face which makes it a delight to start the day. I have to say that although I enjoyed last week I'm so pleased that everything is now back in place and where everything should be.

Mrs B - do we have any news yet?
Sandra - I see you three lovely ladies are to get your day together today so have a lovely day.
Steph - hope you managed to get your cards finished.

It's going to be a 'tidying up on scrap drawer' today. I know before I start that very little will be discarded but at least my head will know it's been done!!
My -Sue space- is dusted off and ready - well one can hope lol.

To all in pain or suffering I hope you day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  130. Good morning Sue, and all the ladies.
This is so beautiful, and the sentiment is perfect (Thanks Theresa for attribution to Eleanor Rooseveldt, clever you).
I've read all the posts, and I could scream at the way people have been misdiagnosed or fobbed off with explanations, it's diabolical. And, of course, you are left with the consequences.
Pam, lucky you getting that lovely delicate card, which one did you get Sandra?
Mrs B - any news yet?
Love hugs to all who are in pain, having treatment, caring for someone or who are lonely xx

  133. Hello Sue and all

Lovely card. Love the drop shadow effect. I really like the Wedgewood colouring. You did not have to tell us you had a smudge, but thank you,the effect of the flowers on the frame is really pretty, I think it is well worth copying. Thanks for sharing.

    Best wishes

  137. Oh I love this card so, it was nice to see you put it together on the show. I keep on trying to watch the segment on using the piercing ruler, but it seems they don't let you finish. I would love to see a little video on how you do your paper piecing so neatly and evenly around your card. Please?

  141. Good morning Sue and all my Wilsonette friends,
This is such a lovely card Sue and with the tiny little blossoms scattered around it, just finishes it off a treat for me. I do like how you have made the center's of the various places differing sizes just so that we can have the luxury of making small frames to match our projects. I do like the blue and white idea with the shading of the black as it is just a hint of, which for me works. Thank you Sue for another gorgeous WOW.
Tracy (Stitt) can your friend take a detour to Glasgow via Glenochil, i promise to be good and not wander off? Is it a Hillington the shop or more in the actual centre of Glasgow? Either way enjoy your time there as i love going into Aladdin's cave of craft or wool shops. See that's the eyes all glazed over just at the thought of it. I used to love a rummage through wee shops that had everything in them in all the nooks and crannies. Not so good in a chair or scooter but oh how you never knew just what you were going to find. Nowadays most shops look half empty so that they can let people like me on a bad day in with room to move around. Have fun with your friend any how Tracy as you never know just what delights you might find.
Woo hoo it's the 3 graces day to make mayhem and beauty, have fun Sandra, Mrs B and Pat, i wonder what fabulous things your going to come up with today.
Well Kirsten texted me yesterday with her wants for baby which was fine but i have to make a few alterations namely she want's this particular 4ply set in double knitting and a round instead of a v and no cables in it but the pattern has, she'll accept the wee 3 knit and 1purl st/ purl all the way back. She wants a tammie, no hood which i prefer as it keeps the cold of their wee necks and backs as well. I have put on my waitress apron and her baby mop cap to ask if there is anything else madam would like while i am about it. I used to love colouring in when i was small and even yet i still love to do it, but i found antarsia(picture knitting) knitting and fell in love with being able to use different colours to make up something special. Well my favourite making like Thomas the Tank going across the viaduct bridge with the hills, trees, clouds, grass etc and it goes all the way around the jumper with the sleeves being an intregril part as well. I made Rory for going to USA a cardigan in aran weight wool a blue cardigan with wee pockets on the arms and a red row of colour on the borders, wrists, pockets, but on the back stands Mickey Mouse in his silver star spangled royal blue trousers with his red and white striped jacket with waistcoat and white shirt and royal blue dickie bow tie and a top hat that has the silver starts around the bottom edge with the red and white stripes making up the hat. My Kirsten.... "Well you can forget making any that rubbish for mine as he's no wearing that". My friend and her daughter are trying to pinch the picture cardigans and jumpers for their wee lad because they haven't seen anything like it and mine thinks it horrible. Oh where did i go so wrong....
Anyway i will be having a wee play around to see what i can make for the wee one coming that he can where at Granny's house and when he is out with me.
Have a lovely day everyone and hugs to all my angels.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)
