Diagonals

Hi bloggers!  Welcome to day three of the die blog launch.  I hope you are enjoying seeing all the new designs!  Do you have a favourite yet?  We are starting out with a new idea that I had; Diagonally designed borders.  I love a diagonal cut on my cards (as you probably know), but found that somethings just didn't work well that way.  I have designed three, two that go one way and the last one which goes the opposite direction so there is a bit of versatility to them too.  There is also a place I have worked into the design to make a vertical cut if you would like to use them in smaller card projects too (I hate having to cut through a design!)  These come with an extra thin border that does not have a cutting edge so you can make them as wide as needed (if you lie to add mounting foam like I do, this is a must!)  I have used the Lavish Swirls here with it's border in this sample, but there is also the Love Hearts Diagonal and the Labyrinth Diagonal die sets (shown below).  Leave me a comment if you would like to be included in the drawing to win one of these sets.  Please join me back at 12 noon for the next blog post.  All for now, Sue x

  114. Good morning Sue and my Wilsonette friends,
What a beautiful card Sue and for me just the right amount of black in it. Having seen one of them in action now maybe they are a needed set now. They really make a difference the pattern staying up the right way and not sloping off the wrong way.
I was at my old school friends' house last night and while looking for my phone to put something in it so that i wouldn't forget(the memory is not what it was). i found my gel pads that are suppose to be for the balls of your feet but i use them on my sticks to help cushion my hands on them, anyway normally they stick no problem, well would they last night.....no. I just said that i would wait until i got home and adhere them with double sided sticky tape when away her hubby goes and brings in the biggest widest roll that i have ever seen. It must be 2" wide and 3" thick, so just imagine how long that is going to last and that wasn't a new roll. The lovely Andy gave me the roll to keep and said that he would get me more if i wanted or needed it, wasn't that kind? I went up to teach her how to knit or more to the point how to cast on, increase, decrease and cast off. My friend can knit just and no more if someone casts on and does all the other things for her but what is the use of that, she needs to know these basics for herself. Someone cast on and ribbed the bottom of a back of a babies cardigan for her when her grandson was born, but left her to flounder and get disheartened because she can't do anything else. I have given her a plan of action in that i will start her off with a pair of mitts as they are small enough for her to see her coming on and getting somewhere, but also gives her the basics that she needs to learn. Maybe the fact they are small and knit up relatively quickly for a new knitter she will be hooked or needled into making more things.
Hubby is off today and tomorrow with a hired van to take things to the tip like mums old doors and skirtings and such and to move Kirstens furniture across to her house. I know what is coming before it even starts today in "What are you doing today as you could be doing......." boy does he make me tired before even starting. He can't see the little but often approach works better for me than the all out assault that has me knackered with in the first half hour.
Anyway i will see you all after hopefully.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

  130. Hi Sue,
You are indeed a talented lady, diagonals I thought, not sure, I don't make that many large cards, but ah says Sue you can use them on smaller cards on the vertical! WOW WOW WOW!!
You continue to inspire and each time I think you can't surprise me, Bam!, you do just that. These are now on my wish list.

  137. Hi Sue. What a gorgeous start to todays releases. This card shows off one of your fantastic Diagonal dies a treat. Once again you have looked at just what is needed, rather than simply bringing out the same old type of dies time after time. You really are an inspiration in all that you do Sue, thank goodness you are kind enough to share it with us : )
Norah, it is good to hear from you but make sure you don't overdo it today. Campbell will have to either do it himself or be patient won't he!
Sending my daily hugs to everyone.
See you at noon : ) Take care.
