Good morning all! I had hoped to have a bit of a different sort of treat for you today, but unfortunately it has been delayed until early next week now. You know what they say though, good things come to those that wait! LOL On offer today for the card giveaway is this pretty little peach number. Again this week, I do need to say that this card will be posted out after my Weekender shows on Feb. 7th and 8th when I return so there will be a very slight delay before the winner will receive it. I started by embossing a piece of peach card using the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder for the top half of my background. I used my score board and added vertical lines to a piece of coconut white card for the bottom half of the card. I cut this piece on the diagonal and glued it to the embossed peach card. I cut two of the New York borders in white and off set them across the diagonal. I added 3mm and 5mm white flatback pearls to the border's edge. For the focal element, I kept it simple and cut the Oval Dainty Frame out of white card as the backdrop. I stamped my sentiment in black and cut it out with the New York tag. I inked it lightly with Tattered Rose distress ink before removing it and mounted it with foam on the oval frame. I cut a strip of peach felt and folded it over lengthwise and glued the edges. I made wide cuts into the strip and then rolled it to create my flower, using Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue along the edge to secure it. I seated the flower on a white seam binding messy bow and made two stick pins to match. The card was then completed with my usual pierced mat layer, a thin peach card mat and a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/4" in size. If you would like to be entered in the drawing to win this card, just leave me a comment. The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post. All for now, Sue x

Hi Sue and all lovely Wilsonettes. We can wait a little longer, we have to wait long enough inbetween your appearances on our screens so whats a few more days between friends ! I second Sam's comments - we need to see more demo time not hear about the presenter's lives, some just DONT know when to stop talking about themselves ! Lrts face it, we have switched on to get our Sue fix and all the inspiration, help and tips you give us. Sorry Sue, rant over.
ReplyDeleteWhich ever friend is lucky to receive this W.O.W is a very lucky person, it would be so lovely if one of our friends that are struggling had this through their post box. Ive never done a multi tone diagonal like this so will put that right today. Its such a pretty delicate gift, and a card for many occassions.
I hope you are managing to balance work with fun Sue, we are all counting down the sleeps before you are in our homes again (just hope the expected awful weather doesnt disrupt your travel arrangements) !! So till tomorrow - video day, I send my love and thanks for a very special place to meet lovely people whilst getting lots of wonderful inspiration.
Thinking of our missing friends and gentle cuddles in abundance to those that need them today.
Love to all.
Lancashire Steph xx
The peach colour really makes this card "shine" for me not too pale but not to "in yer face" either! Could be easily adapted with other folders and borders as well Looking forward to your news ... More dies and folders?

Hi Sue. You are teasing us again! Can't wait until your shows, they will be fantastic as always. I actually like them showing the products in depth on C&C especially when Leonie or Dawn are on with you as they show loads of samples and it gives you time to explain the extra things you can do with the dies. Today's offering is so pretty and will be perfect for an upcoming birthday card I have to make. x

Look forward to you coming back, although check the weather carefully before you come.

Beautiful, simply gorgeous. I love that although this card looks simple to make it looks lovely. Love the felt flower.
ReplyDeleteHugs to all who needs one stay wrapped up and keep warm. It's very windy here (outside) lol

Right up my street Sue, I just adore these diagonal cards, they look so special. I have made several and everyone who has received this from me comment how unusual they are and they have not seen another one like it.
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else, can't wait for your little teaser to appear, so we will have to count down the days.
Maxine T, I hope your cataract op went ahead as expected and you are now on your way to better sight. Big hugs dear heart.
I will also second Sam's commwents on the presenters not giving the demonstrators enough time to say anything or to get more than 2 demos in. I taped Jane Means gift wrapping programme the other day and that Stephanie Weightman had so much verbal diarrhea coming out of her mouth, I only got to see bows and a bag made!!! We were supposed to see how she actually wrapped but no chance, so I rewound and Stephanie hogged the conversation to the tune of 45 MINUTES wittering on about about next to nothing. No wonder it is not my favorite channel any longer. I'm off my soapbox now.
If any of our lovely Wilsonettes are going to the craft show at Westpoint, Exeter on Thursday, I shall be there also and it would be lovely if we could bump into each other to put a face to the comments. I shall be wearing a hip length purple fleece jacket and have my C&C badge on.
Love and hugs to all our dear hearts in pain or under the weather and to everyone else also.
Hugs Cheryl xxx

Still curious - could it be new products/dies ???
Hugs, Rose
Morning Sue, beUtiful card today, love the peach colour! Looking forward to next weeks reveal! Kind regards Janet k xxx
ReplyDeleteLove this diagonal card it's really quite striking, I like the peach colour as it is soft but not insipid and the felt flower is gorgeous also such a pretty border die! Also , yesterday 's card was beautiful , I didn get the chance to comment as I was away in Inverness all day and was so tired when we got home I forgot.oops.
ReplyDeleteThis is our walking group day and as there is no snow yet I must make the effort to go, I started making new curtains for the front room the other day and because they are so heavy to work with I can only do a bit at a time ( I've had a frozen shoulder since last June and although I don't let it stop me from doing things it certainly aches afterwards) so I guess they are going to take some time !
Hope you are feeling better Maureen or at least on the mend!
Love and hugs to all xo
Love today's card, really taken with the diagonal design. Crafting today with a friend in the warm Portuguese sun and will have a go with whatever we have available.
ReplyDeleteLikewise we get annoyed with "chatty " presenters that's why the videos are such a good idea. Looking forward to your return on TV.

ReplyDeleteMe again! Meant to say I agree wholeheartedly with Cheryl , Stephanie Weightman's blethering does my head in more than all the others! She is so full of her self she's a pain!
ReplyDeleteJust thinking about trying to meet up with other WOWs when we go to shows , maybe Sue could do a badge design for us all to copy which we would instantly recognise? Sorry Sue , but can't think how else we would all see the same design, anyway it's just a thought.

Cheryl, great idea of wearing a home-made WOW badge so that people will recognise you.

ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card, love the diagonal line, and the colour is lovely.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card for the Wednesday Giveaway, I don't know how you bear to part with them. What always amazes me is how your embellishments always match your card stock so perfectly. Would love to know how you decide to start a card, do you first pick a card colour and then match everything up or do you start with the embellishment and then decide what colour card to use? Your stick pins are fabulous and the peach colour, just perfect, that's what set me off thinking.
Love and hugs to all in need
Saba

I will be in my craft half a room crafting along- if I can't do that I will relax in my bedroom, some little crafty bits on a tray or some crochet, some sugary treats... oooh! And such good timing too! It's my birthday tomorrow so will hopefully have some "craft vouchers" to spend and ever since Sue first mentioned this treat I have saved my club renewal voucher. Sue, safe journey back and wrap up warm when you get off the plane, not kidding, you'll really notice the cold if it's still like this! Ironically after a grey morning and lunchtime the sky is now bright blue, it looks so lovely but it means it'll be very cold tonight.
Have to agree that some C an C presenters do waffle on more they they should. I accept they are there to sell the products but fingers crossed you'll be on with people who'll let you get on with the demos.
Cheryl, I love your WOW badge idea. I'm going to the only big show in this area on the 14th of Feb (Saturday) at the Five Lakes resort near Colchester. If anyone else in the East is going that day I'd love to say hello. Mention on your post if you're going please. I'd love to do a major show this year but have some logistics to sort out first as to whether I'll make one or not.
To the Wilsonettes who have been ill, to those who are in any sort of pain, recovering from operations or having treatment many many hugs and best wishes. To Wilsonettes everywhere stay warm and safe. Hugs and crafty good wishes to all of you.

Hi Sue,
ReplyDeleteI love absolutely everything about todays card! It is gorgeous. This is one which I really will try to make although I will change it a little bit! I love the felt flowers and they always seem to work for me which is a bonus.
I have always been fairly quiet on the presenter front but if it's Stephanie I'm afraid I mute the telly it turn it off! Say no more, Myra!
We can wait a few more days Sue. Really looking forward to the Weekender and like everyone else will record all the shows!
Late today as went out and got stuck in horrendous traffic jam! Turned out all traffic lights were stuck on red! So were some faces , I guess, some from embarrassment and some from rage! Glad to be home! My husband is still not back yet so he must have got stuck also!
Love to everyone, stay warm and safe.
Cheryl all the best with the designing! I do hope you manage to meet someone from the blog.
Anne - take is easy with the curtain making! Hope you enjoyed your walk.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous - no other words to describe it!
ReplyDeleteJust peachy! As usual I enjoy your great color selection. I've never thought about the scoring technique, but it truly works in this card. The straight and curvy lines are very balanced. Anyone would really love this card. Thank you for showing it to us. Gail

ReplyDeleteHi Sue, love this card - really pretty. Reminds me of a garter - ooh la la!!Looking forward to seeing you back on the box, but I have a dilemma...? There is a craft show VERY local to me that same weekend!!!! Do I stay or do I go out - aaaargh. Beautiful card Sue!
ReplyDeleteLovely shade of peach though its a colour I rarely use.
CHERYL totally agree with you certain presenters really get on your nerves. They would sell so much more if we could see the product getting used instead of all the nonsense that they talk.
agree that it is a very pretty little number. liking that peach colour too, hugs xx
ReplyDeleteFresh, bright spring colours, shows the card off to perfection.

ReplyDeleteHello Sue,
ReplyDeleteThis card is just so beautiful Love the soft Peach and your felt flower is gorgeous . You certainly have a fantastic eye for design and seem to have the ability to JUST GET IT RIGHT.
We can wait for what ever you have in store for us. we just need you to be OK.
Take care, Love Brenda xxx
Hi Sue. Ooooh this is a gorgeous card today !! I love it !! You have used the beautiful New York border die that I love so much at the moment. A great idea to use it diagonally. It is different, unusual and adds more interest to the card. Your Dainty oval frame set looks so pretty. I have decided to collect both sets of frames as they are both so beautiful, it is impossible to choose between them !! I also love your messy bow, beautiful felt flower and fab stick pins. Your wonderful Rambling Blosooms EF is also on my huge wish list. I do not own any floral embossing folders and this one is so pretty that for me it is a must have. Thank you for sharing such a pretty card today. I can't wait to hear about your surprise. x x x
ReplyDeleteSending you lots of love and hugs from Tres x x x

Hi Sue & ALL The WIlsonettes! Hope you are all well & not suffering too much in this dreadful weather? Thankfully we have not had snow, where we live, but we have got VERY high winds & heavy rain! I am SO sorry for not posting this earlier but I have been in hospital having bladder stones removed (after waiting since September!), so I have been spending my time sitting by our coal fire! I only move to go to bed! You have produced another STUNNING card, again today, Sue! I love everything about it, especially the colours you've used! I would love to be in with a chance to win a card like this! Love, Mary Blight XXX
ReplyDeleteHi Sue,

ReplyDeleteHello Sue. What a really lovely card and such a lovely sentiment too - although I do agree that it would make a fantastic wedding card. You are such a tease - what can your news be I wonder. Go on - I won't tell anyone!! xx Maggie (better without a bow)
ReplyDeleteJust gorgeous Sue. I think the border looks like a lace trim. Good enough to frame. Big hug.
