Hello crafters! Today's offering is a bit different, but it showcases the lovely inlaid technique. I started by cutting the
Austrian border in white to use as my base. I attached it to a
sticky adhesive sheet so the open "fall away" areas now had adhesive exposed. I cut the border several more times in varying shades of pale pink, rose and raspberry. Each time I picked a different portion of the fall away from the die cut and used them to in lay them back into the original white base piece. I decided when I finished it that I wanted to make a wide border so I repeated the same process so I was able to put two of them together. I will admit that this is a rather time consuming process, but I find it strangely satisfying! When finished it has a lovely smooth feeling to it, with only the embossing giving it texture. I stamped my sentiment on a larger piece of raspberry card and added my borders below it. To add a bit of a floral detail, I cut the
Delicate Daisies Open Petal in black and made a flower with a
flatback pearl centre. I added it to the card with a
Curled Vine embellishment. The card was finished with a pierced white mat, a thin black mat and a final white mat. The finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.

Lovely card Sue, congrats Sonia.
Nice technique Sue , very effective. Congrats to Sonia. Have a nice week- end everyone. JJx
Hi Sue. Well, this is really gorgeous. I love the double inlaid border in the lovely pink shades (why do I love pink on cards yet not for anything else that I wear or own?) I can also see it in blues or purples - my favourites, or in any other colour for that matter and that makes a change for me and my lack of imagination! : ) The open petal flower is gorgeous, haven't seen them made up like that.
Sending my daily hugs to everyone. Have a good weekend, I hope you are getting a break Sue : ) Take care.
Sorry, forgot to say congratulations to Sonia : )
Hi Sue
What a different card today. This is something I have not tried, but will do now
Pat x
Good morning Sue what a beautiful card I love this technique. And the colours you have chosen to use. And I really love the design.

Really like this, Sue, almost has a retro feel to it. Don't know if I'd have the patience for this technique - well, yes, do know!! But the end result is well worth the effort.
Well done to Sonia, a wee bit envious but, hey ho, getting a Sue card is one of a very tiny number on the list of things to hopefully achieve.
'P' in Wales
Good morning Sue and everyone. Love the inlay technique with the different shades of pink although I'm sure that if I tried this I would lose the last piece to be put in (it always happens with jigsaws)!
Congratulations to Sonia on your win. Cheryl, you are doing the right thing cutting the negative people from your life, you just need to be concentrating on your recovery. Norah, you are actually doing the school a favour by giving them a long list as it's probably things they have never thought about, and when they have the dreaded Ofsted visit they'll be able to use your comments to show what they are doing to improve. Sending hugs to anyone in pain or just feeling down. Sue xxx
It may be time consuming but the result is certainly worthwhile.
Morning Sue
I have to say that I'm not that sure about today's gift. I like the idea and the effect it has but am not too sure about today's colours.
Perhaps if I try it in a different colour it will change my mind. Sorry Sue it's not many of your beautiful pieces of art I don't take to.
Sandra - have a lovely day with your friend and I hope that the journey isn't too horrendous.
Pam - everything back to normal. You're at the top just where you should be.
Yesterday's visit to the market was useful; Mr E bought a couple of bottles of red wine for his cupboard whilst I bought the household usuals and a large bag of bird seed for our little feathered friends.
This is the time where anyone who doesn't like sweet things at this time of the day- Pastries this week were for Mr E a beautiful creamy piece of Flan (a little bit like our baked custard)with pieces of plum inside whilst I went back to Raspberries only this time it was made up of on the bottom a thin layer of spongs soaked in raspberry juice; on top of that a gorgeous layer of crunchy (sorry just do not know what the ingredients are for it)on top of that a beautiful raspberry mousse with whole raspberries within topped with another thin layer of raspberry sponge and to finish this delight of gorgeousness a layer of raspberry gell with a tiny triangle of white chocolate. Np cakes now until next Friday.
Have really got to do some housework today - would really prefer crafting but it has to be done. It appears that my 'House Mr Dobbie' has gone AWOL this week.
Congratulations Sonia you very lucky lady.
To all in pain or suffering I hope your day gets better. To everyone please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Sam, so nice to see you back ( for now) we DO miss our regular sister's here hope you are starting to get over your illness. Lynn M and little paws, miss your funny stories SO much.
Hmmm - inlaid technique otherwise known as a bodged up disaster LOL when you showcased the last one a month or so ago I thought Id try it, oh boy oh boy, thank goodness for embelishments ! You used a more detailed die last time with pin head size bits of card to inlay... How cruel LOL.. Card pinging from my tweezers, glasses falling to the end of me nose, getting hot and frustrated with my stupid fingers, it went like a dream, it should have been easy and straight forward but not in my craft world LOL,it was hillarious that something so quite easy can cause me so many stupid problems, but I persevered in pale blue and white which in essance done 'properly' would have been so pretty, so where the die had double cut, and the inlay just wasnt snug, it was hidden with pretty daisy flowers and you'd never guess the panic that lay beneath LOL. So I will try again but with a larger die with larger pieces to inlay, it may just prove that Im not such a crafting numpty as I sound (maybe)
Anyway, thanks for bringing back the comical memories of me searching for the weeeniest bits of card to inlay with the background die used on your previous card : )
Sandra have a lovely day with your friend.
To my lovely Wilsonette ladies in pain rest well and keep warm and snug.
Sending love to all that Parti today.

Hi Sue, a beautiful card. Love the technique. Will have to try this as I now have the die!
Great card love the colours and flower x xhazel
Hi Sue I love the effect this gives and it is so worth the fiddle. I saw a demo on C&C the other day where a tumble dryer sheet was put underneath the card as it is cut and this makes the fall away pieces stick to it. This would be so useful when doing this technique as in theory all the bits should be there. Must give it a try!
Have a great day. Love Diane G xxxx

Hi Sue, a gorgeous card. It looks to have a beautiful quilted effect. Congratulations to the very lucky card winner.
Hi Sue, a very contemporary card for today. You are a very special friend and I hope you have a very Special Day,
Love and Birthday Hugs xxxxx
Beautiful Sue, it's a lovely cheerful card with great colours
What a lovely card. Think the effect of replacing the waste from the die is really effective and particularly in this selection of colours. Just beautiful
Fabulous card Sue (as always)! Congrats on your win Sonia!
Happy Day all!
Hi Sue
I love this technique. I may have mentioned before but I call this a 'jigsaw' technique. I even go as far as choosing dies I can do it with! It's very hypnotic, almost like zentangle as you get in the zone! I have a strange relationship with pink. I like bright, in your face pink and only if there aren't too many fluffy, girly details. The balance on this is just right and again I can imagine it in many colours too so it's a winner all round.
For Steph and anyone else who struggles with picking up the little off cuts for this technique I suggest you find a sticky tipped pick up tool. Used by nail technicians, crafters and for putting chatons on polymer clay jewellery. I really love using them to help position pearls and other little embellishments on cards. there are many types out there, the pencil types are not suited to paper but the ones with the sticky tips work. You can mock something up with the tack stuff you put posters up with or by reversing some low tack tape just to help you get the off cut in the right place. then use something with a tip like a fine embossing tool to hold the off cut in place while you pull the sticky away. I'm not sure my description has done the idea justice but I hope it helps some one.
Sam, so sorry you've been feeling poorly. Top up on vitamin C as well as doing what the others say by getting that 'good' bacteria back in your body again. I hope you feel better soon xxx
Janet Ecco. It's good I'm alone, the sounds I was making reading about those pasties may have sounded like something else...! Good thing I had lunch before reading.
I'm going to leave it there for today. I need to order some fabric for Billy's bed cover having settled on what I want. hoping to find some fabric bargains for my sewing course while I gather needed items. If there's some cash left over I may then treat myself to a little something crafty!
Big warm hugs to all, take care if it's icy, stay in the warm and craft!
Extra hugs if you need them, got plenty to go around!

Hi Sue and everyone. I like how you have managed to put all the little bits back in on the sticky sheet, can believe it is tricky but well worth it because it looks lovely Sue.My new year resolution(one of them)is to make up some cards out of the massive stock I got so I can buy more at the AP :-)That's include learning to use the gilding flakes and sticky sheets properly ! just shaking in my boots thinking about it!!

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card today. Love the shades of pink - my favourite colour - and another black flower, fast becoming my favourite too. Tomorrow is a crafting day for me and I will be trying out this technique as I am lucky enough to have that border. Wish I had some raspberry card too, but never mind I will have to adapt.
First of all though I have to make a birthday card for my gorgeous Granddaughter who will be 5 next week. Think it will have to be a "Frozen" theme.
Sam S and Tres, sorry you are not feeling well, gentle healing hugs to you both.
Pat W. Happy Birthday , hope it's been a good one.
MARIA ALDER. have you checked last Saturday's post yet. If not, do it now!!!!
Congratulations Sonia on winning that fabulous card.
Love and hugs for all

Good evening lovely Sue and my wonderful Wilsotte friends,
Just thinking that if you were really keen Sue you would have a lovely quartet that would make a beautiful gift for someone if you made up the leftovers, but I know you are always up for challenges. Thank you for stretching us Sue with a strangely simple yet not creation today.
Well done to Sonia , this weeks Wednesday winner and to MARIA ALDER on last weeks. Give Sue a line Maria as you will be kicking yourself if you don't.
Happy Birthday Pat, I hope that you have had a wonderful day and got lots of lovely cards. I hope they only put the one candle on your cake as it takes a lot of puff to blow out the other 20.
Janet I bet your really happy that cakes are only once a week, I must say I do admire your self control and will power.
Sam, Tres I wish you both better days to come as I know just how long term I'll can bring you down. Take care dear ladies.
LittleLamb, oh the difference you are going to find with your sight after the op. It's going to feel a bit gritty or iritating but honest it is worth it all in the end. BUT remember you can't bend over the sink to wash your hair as it brings undue pressure on to your eye. Get some lovely person in your household to do a back wash shampoo on you for the next few weeks.
Sandra, I hope the wee lass feels better soon. Sorry.that you have not been able to go to your friends party but you would have worried the whole time if you had went with Paul on your own.
Cheryl, you are better than them any day sweet lady, people like that have no room in your life. Friends, real friends don't put a friend through that. Look up to the sky tomorrow , take a deep breath and live for you and grab life with both hands.
Sending hugs to all my lovely Wilsonettes Angels and baby Wilsonettes.
Love and crafty hugs

Good evening all, don't know where the day has gone. Love this card, but not sure I would have the patience for this, but then I use fabric for patchwork, so perhaps I should try it.
Cheers

Hello how late it is. I think this is a lovely card and such detail. I expect it needs a fair bit of patience, but what a result at the end. Lovely. xx Maggie (better without a bow)
Fantastic card x
Fabulous card. Time-consuming maybe but the result is definitely worth it. I've been dithering about getting this border die but it's jumped up the wish-list. Change of colour and sentiment means it will earn its keep in no time!
Take care everyone.
Hello Sue,
I am very late commenting on Saturday's post. Have only just read it. This card is very clever. I love it.
