You Are Amazing

Hi crafters!  Ever play with a corner to see all the different looks you can achieve?  This card is all about the corners!  Eight of them to be exact.  I created my background first by embossing a piece of pale lavender card with my Checkerboard Pinpoint embossing folder.  I cut four French Collection corners out of coconut white card and glued them into each corner and adorned the tips with 8mm white flatback pearls.   Next I cut a smaller piece of pale lavender card and matted it with a white mat.  I added it to the centre of my card with some mounting foam.  To it, I added four more French Collection corners cut out of coconut white card. This time with the tips all touching to form a pretty shape.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smallest die in the Innsbruck set.  I inked through the die with Shaded Lilac.  I cut a pretty backing piece for it from the Salzburg die set and mounted the two in the centre of my corners.  I finished the centre off with pearls in the corners.  The final mats were added with my usual piercing to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 8" x 8" in size.

The winner of this week's Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Ita O'Bryne O'Keefe!!!

Congratulations!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your card.  All for now, Sue x

  7. What a lovely card, Sue, and so easy to achieve - as long as we have a corner die! (And I have, but not this one.) So will definitely use this as inspiration. Can see another black moment coming on.

  19. Hi Sue, Happy Saturday Wilsonettes.

Sue, YOU are amazing, why you ask, far too many reasons to list, but one reason is, you've made our Ita one very happy lady this morning. So pleased to see your name came up for the amazing golden guilded and white Wednesday card Ita. Enjoy.

I cant tell you how much im looking forward to the launch of your new dies Sue, it cant be long now. The little shop Barbiepink fairy and I use haven't ordered any yet as they have not been shown your new collection by the CE rep ! Im keeping my fingers crossed there is a grand square included to use as a large frame on my cards, time will tell.
Talking of frames, why do I feel clever for once, only because I used this corner in the exact way but with a different sentiment for a Silver wedding anniversary card I made earlier in the year, so maybe Im 'starting to get it' so to speak ! This is why your collections do so well Sue, there are so many ways to use them (not that I usually see them until you've pointed it out to me) ! But there are so many new dies out on the market these days that do just one job, your's do lots more for us crafter's and they intermingle, so thank you for the most versitile dies, roll on the launch and samples of your next dies. I will never ever catch up, how about 2 sets a year Sue, that way I could save up and catch up lol
I must say how beautifully the pinpoint folder shows up on your background card this morning.

Pam - how lovely to see you at no 1 this morning. Happy to see the cloud is lifting a little more for you.
Sending warm gentle hugs to our poorly friends. To those not feeling upto posting, hope your dark cloud starts to lift soon like it has for our 6am Pam.
    Have a wonderful day Sue.
To our friends, hope whatever your day brings I hope its a safe and happy day.
    Love you.

    morning Sue
Thank you for starting my day with the most beautiful gift using one of my favourite eboss folders; one of my favourite colours and of course to finish off my favourite set of dies. As this morning is my last for the next couple of days as I start my return to the UK tomorrow driving up to Calais and then sailing Monday. So if no-one minds I'm taking today's gift just for me.

Pam - You just do not know how wonderful it is to see you where you belong at the top of the list. Take it steady my friend.
Ita - how wonderful you must feel when you see your name to own a Sue Wilson piece of Art. Hope it cheers you up.
Steph - hope you're not still all glued and flaked up stuck fast in your little cubby. I just know that when I use sticky paper/gilding flakes and glitter I have you by my side to take care of me.
Norah - I hope all is well with you and yours particularly your tiny bump (not yours but Kirsten's of course).
Sandra - hope you have a good family weeke-end and if the girls are playing footy hope it's fine and not too muddy. Well I can hope can't I.

To all my Wilsonette Sisters who gave me advice re the very disturbing phone call I thank you from the bottom of my heart. In a way it's nice to know that we're not the only ones (in a way if you know what I mean) and we shall be using some of your ways of dealing with them. It's the first time in France that we've had these. So once again a big thank you.

Hope everyone has a good week-end and that all plans work out. To all under the weather I hope you feel better soon. To all take care and stay safe.
    See you Tuesday.
    Janet x
ps - the pastries were delightful. This week I had a very ordinary fruit tart but Mr E indulged in one called 'Fig'. It really looked like one too. It was a ball of choux pastry with some delightful concoction of cream inside and covered with green marzipan but didn't taste of almonds. It really finished his time here wonderfully as we have a fig in the garden - it's been in 13years and this year is the first time he has managed to get some fruit for himself. Before the little furry fellows that visit (European Doormice) just love them!!
Sorry that was a long ps.

Janet, I will be thinking of you tomorrow as you start that journey back to us here in UK, I find it a sad journey, usually because our holidays are over when we embark on that journey, I guess you will be spending your day putting things away, packing up etc, I always think it will be easier to pack on the return journey but it isn't! Take care on those French roads my lovely, so glad Mr E's last pastry was a memorable one! Hugs xxxx
Anne, sounds like you definitely had a visit from Steph's 'messy fairy', I always love how both of the kittens sparkle in our house when either gilding flakes or glitter are in use! As long as you had fun, if you got a good result too that's even better! Hugs xx
Steph I can imagine you and Barbiepinkfairy, standing in your little craft haven, battling over who us buying which die! I so agree with you about how versatile Sue's dies are too, they also all work together so well, luckily for us Sue is a genius and things about every detail and comes up every time with exactly what we need, like for instance having a set of dies that includes a die slightly larger so that we have the perfect 'matting edge", no other dies in the market are created by a crafter as talented as Sue, I don't even bother looking at the other big brand these days! So like you I am literally jumping with anticipation! Hugs Steph, thank you for your lovely comments on my Blog too xxxxx
Well I have been writing this post for about two hours, interrupted by the telephone engineer and my mum in law! So I really must get motivated to do some creating!
Ita, I am so pleased you won the card you so deserve a lovely treat, enjoy xx
Hugs to all of my lovely craft friends,

  112. Hi Sue
Another stunning card today, and I love how you have used the corner die. I also think they make a lacy background. Lovely lovely lovely. Well I've just finished making a very very wet chocolate cake. Mind you it's supposed to be like that when you put it in the tin. No fat just vegetable oil and hot water and the usual eggs flour etc. Mind you the receipt says cook for 30mins, but my sister in law cooks it for 1hr. Mine took one and a half hrs. Mind you I did cook it on the middleish shelf. I wonder if I'll ever get the hang of cake making.
Hugs to all in need of one today.especially Pam who seems to be going through a bad spell at the moment.

  120. Hi Sue,
Beautiful card as was yesterday's ! Sorry didn't manage to comment. We travelled home from Scotland in the most awful rain and spray from the lorries makes it worse.
However we made it and it was actually sunny when we got home.

Pam - really lovely to see you back - maybe not on top of the world just yet but on top of the blog! You were missed. x

Anne - hope you enjoy your 9 holes of golf! So nice to get out in the fresh air.
Michelle - (PharmacyMichelle) - so sorry to read about your friend. Thinking of you and your friend. Retail therapy will help a little I'm sure - I'd try it anyway - it won't hurt. x
Barbiepinkfairy - what a weekend - hope Children in Need Party and onesies went well. You'll need a holiday on Monday. Didn't they raise a lot of money this again. Restores faith in our lovely country.
Sandra - will check out the blog. A little behind - not my physical rear - my reading! x
Lots of love to everyone, including Lynda - thanks for keeping in touch with Lynne.

Yay,Pam you back where you belong,so nice to see you again.Hugs.
Congratulations Ita for winning one of Sue's,I'm not jealous or :)

After being cooped up indoors for days because of the weather we thought we have a stroll over to Dobbies to see their x-mas things.
Usually a nice little walk ,under the A5 at one point, but it never happened because it was flooded underneath and very muddy so instead we tried to go under at a different point to get down to the grand union canal but once again we had to turn back as this place was even more flooded. Conclusion is that winter is here and it will get worse but I saved on not getting a "fika" Coffee and cake, good for the expanding waistline and hubby was happy too for I didn't get any more x-mas stuff. Only blisters on my feet from new shoes ! :-) It will be a crafting day tomorrow I'm saying to myself.....

To all- Take care and warm Hugs

  140. Good evening Sue and my Wilsonette friends,
I think you must have been reading minds again Sue as i have just used this die yesterday to do exactly the same centre for a wedding card that i have to make. I think the French set is my very favourite followed by the Spanish and Californian collections next and of course well all the flowers. I think this set always makes such a beautiful card and because it can be worked in different ways makes it versatile. Thank you Sue for creating such a beautiful card for our delight and i am on tender hooks here waiting on seeing the new collections made into works of art.
Pam, so lovely to see you back at the top of the day as it is quite disconcerting seeing others there. This is my stupid brain that has things going in certain directions and can't accept it not being like the way i have come to expect. I hope that you are back on the track coming out of the darkness that unfortunately consumes us at times, but are starting to feel a bit more like your self also. Although not here in body, Tim will always be with you in your heart and mind. You keep him alive because of your love for him, which is how we keep our loved ones near to us. Thinking of you dear dear friend.(())
Its, i hope today's surprise has given you a wee boost that you could do with too. You have had it hard this year and i am hoping that this is the start of things on the up for you.
Janet, take care coming home flower from France. I have asked for good weather for you traveling but he didn't promise. Reading Mr, E's waiting game for his fig tree/bush to produce and for him to get any reminds me of my daddy and his goosegog bush. He had it under a wire fence and lid and fine mesh so that the birds wouldn't eat them all before he could get any. Every year he lost out to the birds until he went on sentry duty when he spied any of the wee blighters as he says coming and he would chase them. Mum and i were in fits and hysterics at his antics at trying to stop the birds. He said he didn't mind sharing but for them to try everyone of the fruits so that he couldn't get any was not on. He never did get any goosegogs, so i hope Mr. E is more successful.
Well having not stopped all day, i am going to finish knitting my friends bands for her cardigan and do the neckband so that it is finished for her on Monday. Hope you have all had a lovely day and things have gone to plan, if not there is always tomorrow when we can try again. Sending hugs to all my Angels who i so deeply appreciate their support, both on the blog and not at the moment i am thinking of you all.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)
