You Are Amazing

Hello everyone!  I struggled to get the colour to come out right on this one so think pale lavender and white as you look at the pictures.  I used the inside cutting ring from the Innsbruck die set to cut an aperture in the centre.  Next I embossed it with the Rambling Blossoms embossing folder and added mounting foam to the back of it.  I stamped the Floral Paradise stamp in black on the same pale lavender card.  I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet then coated it with Diamond Snow.  Over the top of the glitter, I used a Milled Lavender distress marker to add some highlights to the flowers (make sure to wipe the tip clean of any glitter when you are done).  I centred it on the aperture then attached the background over it.  Using the Innsbruck die, I made a white frame using the two cutting edges and the outside cutting insert.  I backed it with pale lavender card and mounted foam on the back and added it around my aperture to frame it nicely.  Using the corner from the Austrian Collection, I cut four of them in white card and glued them into the corners of the background.  I added a floral element to the card using the Classic Rose die set.  I made a flower out of white card and used Dusty Concord distress ink on the edges of the petals before assembling it.  I sugared it with Iced snow when it was finished and seated it on a white seam binding messy bow and black jute twine bow.  I made two matching stick pins  to embellish it.  I stamped a small sentiment and cut it out with the small die in the Innsbruck set.  I inked it with Dusty Concord before removing it and mounted it on foam in the corner of my stamped aperture.  The card was then completed with a pierced white mat, two thin mats (black and pale lavender) and a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  8 1//2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  20. Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. How on earth can anyone get the Monday morning blues when you wake up to perfection, I think Particraft should be on free prescription as I know it certainly lifts my day. This sentiment comes right back at you Sue, because if it wasn't for you, your wonderful products, and this blog my craftty den would have probably been turned back into a bedroom by now and all my craft stock sold. But yesterday I made my first card in some time, its not one of the 'better' cards but at least Ive broken the cycle of dis-interest, its all down to you lovely friends in Sue land too for giving me that push and encouragement I needed, so thank you.
I couldn't think of a nicer way to start my week, this card today feels quite soothing with its gentle shade of lilac.

SANDRA - Have left a message on your blog.
Tina - Good Luck for your first ever CEDT card tomorrow, go nock those socks off with your talant.

We are missing SO many of our regular Wilsonettes at the moment, so if you are popping in - we do miss reading your comments, your funny stories, I really hope you will come back soon feeling well and your usual happy selves xx
To our Wilsonettes that are struggling with health and pain, my basket is over flowing with soft hugs so take as many as you need.
Have a good sleep Barbie after your shift.
What ever you all have planned today I hope you have a happy productive day. I for one will wrap up warm on the first day of my health induced hibernation and hopefully make another card.
    Stay happy and warm.
    Love you.

  23. Good morning Sue and everyone. This card is so beautiful, all the elements fit together so well. Wishing you an uneventful journey back to the USA (when I worked in the travel industry we were never to say "have a safe journey" in case the passenger was a nervous traveller!).
Sandra, I'm sorry that your fair wasn't very good. As someone else has already said, wrong time, wrong place and wrong person to share with. Don't let it put you off but perhaps go with your daughters next time? Do you have any local small shops (eg a Post Office) that might showcase your cards? Anyway, to everyone going back to school today - good luck!!! Sending hugs to everyone with extra for our missing friends. Sue xxx

    morning Sue
It is you who are 'Truly Amazing'. Today's gift is definitely a 'Sue Wilson Artwork' at your best. It has everything that I think of for a SW gift. Your colours for thi very damp and wet Monday morning are wonderful and just cannot fail to make me smile so a very BIG THANK YOU SUE for starting my week.

Sandra - Oh you lovely Lady I really feel for you having the most horrible day for your first Craft Fayre. I can only say that whoever organised it need lessons on how to make a successful show and how to treat their clients. I also think that your other shared 'friend' was really relying on you to sell her 9 products! Hope you feel a little better today.
Pam - hope you feel a little stronger day by day.
Steph - So pleased to see that you went into your craft room yesterday and started creating again.

To all who are under the weather and in pain hoping you all feel better soon. To all take care and stay safe.
    See you tomorrow.

  76. Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes friends,
I love the colours in today's beauty even with the wee touch of black which just pops it. I can honestly say Sue i have a lavender card on my computer screen as the photographs are beautiful showing up every detail. I love your rose to coordinate with your stamped image as it is the finishing touch that it needed. The embossing folders give it a nice deep look and texture to it and this one is just gorgeous. Thank you Sue, give your mum a big hug and love from me and enjoy your time across home.
Anne, i hope i didn't cause Iain to have another heart attack yesterday with my comments. He will find out that there is no one safe from my humour not even him recuperating but i send him hugs. :)
Pam dear friend sending hugs to you and our boy Robbie, i hope that he is going from strength to strength.
Awh Sandra, that was so unfair and the work that you went to both exhausting and painful. I am wondering why your friend wanted a table to start with though when she had so little to show and sell. I think you should have been given your money back for the cost of the table as organisers were bang out of order putting you all through there and then not even directing people through to the overflow tables. Please don't be so disheartened as it has confirmed to you that you would be in town the next time and be in the main thorough fair so that you can get maximum exposure. Rest up today so that you are fitter to go and play with Pat and Mrs B tomorrow. Hugs x.
Steph flower, i am so pleased that your mind has started flowing again with new creations. Maybe it wasn't one of your better cards that you made, the thing is your crafty brain brought together a new creation for you and broke your lack of mojo and brought back the reason that you started crafting in the first place again, for enjoyment.
This funny wee words or numbers that keep coming up to prove i'm not a robot, well i hate to tell it but first thing in the morning that is a very debateable subject and one that even i'm not sure that i'm not with the automatic pilot my brain goes into at times. Anyway i have just being clicking on publish my comment and so far it has worked but i don't know if that is because of me having a google account or that. Hope this helps everyone like me that it is fine with the bold words but the funny looking ones my wee eyes have a hard time deciphering. Another horrible day with dark heavy clouds and the rain just staying away and no more. I am away to book our tickets for Cinderella up in Glasgow with John Barrowman and the Krankies as together they are really funny and he knocks a right rise out himself. Have a good day everyone sending hugs to all my Angels that need them or just want one both on blog at the moment and not, we miss you girls.

I'm early today! Lots of reasons for that but they don't matter. Sorry I missed yesterday's . I looked late last night but decided to go to bed! Yesterday's card was really beautiful and today's is a real picture. I love the colours and your rose and pins are just gorgeous. Love the milky lilac colour of the beads.
Well, its a beautiful sunny day for now with clear blue sky..
Yesterday evening I walked into the utility room and the boiler light was winking at me! After trying a few things - rang British Gas and turned boiler off! A very nice man came this morning at 8 am!! It's now fixed and I'm ahead of myself - for now. Pleased it happened now and not in dead of winter.
Been reading yesterday's posts as well as today's .
Steph - really pleased about "The Return of the Mojo". Happy crafting and keep warm.
Anne and Norah - your posts made me laugh too. Glad Iain making good progress.
Norah - sounds lke a fun night.
Sandra - what a shame - others have said it all really but things can only get better after that debacle.

  97. Good morning Sue, and all the ladies.
This card is so opulent and beautiful, I love it.
I hope everyone feels in top form today, I've had this flu thing for two weeks really bad and then last week I was on the mend, when I had to get the decorating done whilst we didn't have the grandchildren to see to!!!
I'm back to volunteering in school this afternoon, and then coming back on the school bus - oh joy of joys, the racket the children make is incredible, and remember they are all primary school children!! I take sweets for them all (it costs me a fortune) and that keeps them quiet for a little while).
Sandra, so sorry your experience was not good, and I know it's disheartening, but don't let it put you off.
Pam, love to you and Robbie.
Norah, I envy you the Krankies and John Barrowman, should be a bundle of laughs!
Alimecca, I think you've chosen the right time to go to London, crowds should be hopefully down a bit but I've read that it is so reverential and not rowdy at all - lovely.
Love and hugs to all - Steph I've taken one of yours - and hope you all have as good a day as you can.
    Love also to Sue xx

  111. Good morning Sue & truly lovely friends,
Gorgeous card today, I do love a lilac card, the stamp is so pretty too, you can't go wrong with flowers, the Stick pins just raise the card to a new dimension, they are gorgeous and really give an expensive feel to the card, I have made some, with the little stoppers on the bottom so that they can be removed from the card and used as a lapel pin, which is like a little bonus gift I think!
I am still really poorly today, writing to you from my bed, not sure what it is but not do I feel ill, I think it's partly exhaustion, it feels like my body has given up, I can normally fight through the pain, but this is different, I am shivering one minute, sweating the next, I did try and get to tidy the devastation in my craft room, but I just can't stand upright today!
Steph, thank you so much for raking the time to write on my blog both before and most importantly today, it meant the world to read your kind words, thank you so much. X
Hazel you too, your message today was a real boost, thank you so much x
After a bit of detective work, it would appear that the woman who I was made to do the stall worth through (guilt) husband (hope you are still following) works for the lady that 'organised' the event, he apparently was in charge of marketing! (He like my husband is in the RAF) they can try to boost their career by taking on secondary duties, so he encouraged his wife to have a stall to please his boss! I guess I should have been stronger and said no, I hadn't realised that she had so little to sell, I was a little embarrassing to be honest as I wanted my items together on my 'half' of the table, but she was all for mixing everything together, but knitted baby items didn't really work in amongst cards and jewellery, when the organiser came to collect payment she asked who had made what and before I could open my mouth, she was told that "we had both worked together to fill the stall" ! I was just gobsmacked to be honest! Please don't get me wrong, I have always thought that nobody would buy my cards, I don't want anyone to think that I think that I am better than anyone because I don't I suffer majorly with low self esteem! I was pushed into doing this stall, as I wasn't strong enough to stand up and say no!
Lynda, Maureen, Margaret, Hazel, Steph, Pat, Sue, Nora and every single one of you that has offered help and advice I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, don't know what I would do wirhout you all xxxx

  112. Hi Sue,
    Another stunner! Love the colours.
Steph, it doesn't matter that it wasn't one of your better cards as you put it, what matters is that you made it and hopefully now you'll make lots more brilliant ones. Sandra I said yesterday how sorry I was that things didn't go well but don't know if you would have seen message. Maureen, I hope it's not too busy but I just want to see them so fingers crossed. Hope you survive the little horrors - a bit of bribery works every time! Love and hugs to all especially those friends missing for whatever reason . Love Alison xx

I guess we can't like all of the cards and i do like to be honest - I guess it was being brought up in a country where people tend to say it as they see it!

  154. Hi Sue,
This card was one of my top 5 favourites from the shows the other week, mainly because of the stamp, I simply love the idea of these stamps and this one in particular is so elegant and would look good against any card in one colour like you have done here, without any colouring, the whole card looks elegant and classy, beautiful work as always my friend xxx Hugs, Vick xxx
