In My Thoughts Always

Good Sunday morning all!   The Tethered Heart striplet has been used in a double channel style card for today's post.  To begin, I embossed a piece of coconut white card using the Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder.  I cut it into three strips (they were roughly about
1 1/2" wide strips).  I added mounting foam to the backs of all the strips. I mounted the strips on a piece of teal card, leaving a gap between each that was just slightly more narrow than the striplets.
 Next I cut two of
the Tethered Hearts striplets and
glued them into place spanning across the channel area, just catching the edges of the striplets on to the embossed strips.  I stamped my sentiments in black Archival ink and cut it out with the Austrian tag.  I inked through the die with Peacock Feather distress ink before removing it.  I seated the tag on an oval cut from teal card.  I added the sentiment tag in the middle of the two striplets.  I completed the card with a double white mat layer.  On the inside mat, I added Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue dots all the way around to frame the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x  9" in size.

What a lovely choice of colour today Sue, it show's through your beautiful striplets a treat, I agree with nancyd with regards to your photography, the close up's are lovely.
Well after an awful day home alone yesterday, today is another day ! So with a minimal amount of crafting done (due to a fretful daddy's girl dog) today has to be head down and crack on, but with a fight with her car harness, and been litterally 'dragged' round the park I must admit to hurting some what ! Such is life.
So to my dear friends that also feel they have been in the wrestling ring I send you gentle hugs and hope you feel better as the day goes on. On the plus side my new Sue dies are waiting my collection from 'our craft shop' on the down side, I cant bring them to their new home till Tuesday, boohoo.
Sending love to you Sue and all that Parti on here today.
    Hugs.

  27. Lovely card! I love the Art Deco EB , I ordered the Bevelled Glass striplet and the Córdoba die yesterday , I know they are from previous collections but they have been on my wish list for ages so I thought I would have an extra Christmas present for Iain to give me ! I ordered from Icon , thanks Norah , they had the best price.
Also ordered 7" cards from Anna Marie as she has a special offer on linen effect cards, pity about the postage but she usually puts a wee extra in which is a nice touch!
Well we had great fun with Sandy yesterday, he was just so excited the whole day and announced he was the leader and would tell us what to do , we have the tree and decorations up but still a wee bit more to do ( always glad when I can just sit and admire it )
Love and Hugs to all xo

  32. Happy Sunday morning Sue,

Now I wouldn't have dared to put two such busy patterns together but it works!....maybe because you've used the Fanfare folder "upside down" to mirror the heart shapes in the striplet - not that there's a right way or a wrong way with this folder...great card and another idea to try...

Congrats to all comment game winners...

    morning Sue
You really know how to start the day off with a bang Sue. Today's gift is just one example of that. Not only using your beautiful Teal card -which I treasure every bit of-but use one of my favourite efolders and then to finish off your beautiful beautiful Heart Striplet. Who could ask for more!!!

Sandra - I always talk to both my parents. I think it's just a natural thing to do and besides loved ones never leave us while you think/remember them. They are always with me. Re Acupuncture I have an apptment with a clinical technician (whatever that title means)on 10th Dec who will show me how to use a TENSE machine. I thought hard about acupuncture/TENSE and came down on tense. So I have everything crossed that it will help.
I totally agree with you re parking spaces. In France the notices at the end of the disabled spaces says 'take my space; take my disability' I think we should do the same.

Well I'm off to visit my eldest daughter for the day. I believe she has a new lodger (a poorly Owl who has fallen down a chimney.

Congratulations to all you very lucky winners.
Hope everyone under the weather feels better very soon. To all please take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

Hoping to get some crafting done a friend has just called around and seen the post box I have done for my daughters classroom and the shelves I have done for her teachers desk and as a teacher herself wants some too! Nice to be appreciated but the to do list gets longer!

  75. Good morning Sue & friends,
You can't go far wrong with a Striplet Die and some peacock feathers Distresss inks! Lovely card Sue xxx
Janet, good luck with the 'Tens' machine, I have used them before, first time when I was in labour with my son (now 22), then again while pregnant with the girls, thee first time was more successful, by the time I had through girls my back/pelvis had deteriorated so much the nerves were all damaged, so the Tens didn't really work, I didn't understand about the nerve pathway until I gad my second hip surgery, I gad been in theatre for 8+ hours while they struggled to remove the dialed joint and try and rebuild my pelvis! they decided that the best form of pain relief would be to give me an Epidural while under anaesthetic, I was bought round from surgery having had only the epidural for pain relief to discover that it didn't work, because of the extent of nerve damage the epidural hadn't worked, I think they could hear my screams 40 miles away! Waking up to full pain of an 8 hour reconstruction operation with no pain relief is a nightmare that will haunt me for many years!
I can honestly say I have given acupuncture a try and it really hasn't worked, so I think we can tick that off the list, I think that they are running out of options!
I think today will mostly be playing with my new dies that arrived yesterday !
Steph, I hope you have a better day today x
I best go get organised ,

Stunning card. This striplet die is my favourite (but I've not yet got my hands on your new ones....). I've a wedding card to do soon and this technique is so effective. Love it. Best wishes, Anne O

Julie - My dies are all on magnetic sheets in boxes and each box has a list on the front of its contents. I have all my Christmas dies in the same box as they are not used all year. Hope this helps a little. x
