True Friends

Good Sunday morning all!  Fire and Ice for today's card.  I started by stamping the Justrite background called Tufted Vintage Labels Seven with our Flake and Glitter glue on to black card.  I gilded it with Summer Meadow gilding flakes once the glue turned clear.  I covered the background with a sticky adhesive sheet then coated it with Iced Snow.  I stamped the sentiment (Justrite Friendship Vintage Labels Seven) using a black archival ink pad and cut it out with Vintage Labels Seven.  I mounted it up on foam for dimension.  I gilded a piece of card then die cut several of my Classic Rose die out of it, enough to make the two roses.  I seated them on gold tulle with some black twine.  I made two matching stick pins to go with them.  I matted my background on a piece of black card that I ran dries clear glue around the edge of, then covered it with Midnight Snow.  I cut some white and black mats, including a white pierced mat layer to complete my card.    Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8" in size.

Im having a 'dumb' moment !! I could have sworn that the background was made by your embossing folder plus corner stamps ! Im really struggling with the instructions lol maybe I should re-read it when Im feeling a little more human !!
It really is a stunning card, full of luxury. I picked up a pot of the black snow a few months ago, and put it back, I shall certainly add it to my receipt when I go and fetch my gold and silver card from my little shop when it arrives, then I shall be all prepared to start my C cards.
Many congrats to all comment winners enjoy your gift.

To all that dont feel so well, I send my love and hugs.

    morning Sue
Today's gift is a little too dark and heavy for me. So for me the star of today's gift is the sentiment. It is the truest I have seen ever and I use it whenever and wherever I can. I'm sorry Sue I don't seem to be having a good week=end re your gifts. So I'm looking forward to this coming week.

Norah - Take your time. You have had one of the worst experiences you can have and everything cannot go back immediately. The pain never really goes it just changes as time goes on. Mum will always be with you as long as you remember and talk to her.
I hope I haven't upset you in saying that.
Pam - please remember take it steady tomorrow and be prepared to be absolutely shattered tomorrow evening.
Sandra - we don't use the tunnel as the ferry is much cheaper and we can get a meal/coffee and escape any noisy passengers whereas on the tunnel you can't.

We have a little sunshine again this morning and the trees are now wearing their beautiful Autumn wardrobe.
Congratulations to all the very lucky winners.
To all who are in pain and not well hope you feel better soon.
To all take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

  50. Hi Sue,
Sorry I haven't been around but as you know went up to Scotland and like the idiot I am, forgot to take my iPad with me! Had a quick glance through last night at the week's cards and have to say they were beautiful - I really liked the sunset one and the Christmas ones and the heart stamps were really cute! Love today's even though it has a lot of black! It is very rich and classy. Well done to the winners as well.
Pam, I see you are back to work tomorrow - I hope everything goes well but please take it easy as you will be shattered! I'm sure everyone will be so pleased to see you.
Norah - what can I say!we have had the most beautiful time in your lovely country. For once, the sun cam out as we crossed the border at Carter Bar! We had a bit of rain on the Monday as we got to Oban but it dried up and from then we had 3 fabulous days of glorious sunshine! Had a lovely day on Isle of Mull - hubbie got to see his White Tailed Eagle so he was happy! Another day on Seil and another up around Fort William and Glencoe. Went uo Gondola at Aonoch Mor and had such fantastic views. Glencoe looks even more spectacular in the sun! Friday was a bit washed out but then sun again yesterday for our travel back. Came home via Inveraray and Arrochar as that was where we last went and again totally different when you don't need the wipers on full all of the time. To top it off we called at the beautiful Rosslyn Chapel and I was blown away by it - absolutely stunning. You have such a beautiful country and all of the Scots made us feel very welcome. Mind you it's lovely to come home though! I have a very clingy cat at the moment who is following me everywhere and as soon as I sit down she just wants a cuddle.
Well must go and get started on the washing ( back to reality!) . I will try to catch up with all the comments, but I do hope everyone has a lovely day and sending love and hugs to those who need/ want them. Great to be back, love Alison xxx

  78. Hi Sue
Another stunner today, if a bit on the dark side for me. But it's the technique that matters not the colour of the card. Although I do like black cards. I must give this technique a go. I know I say that every time. But I will one day.
Don't over do it tomorrow Pam, you're first day back to work.
Hugs to all in need of one today, and I shall make a start on putting our bedroom back to its original state. Perhaps not quite as I'm trying to get Pete to throw away clothes that don't fit him any more. I know, you thought it was only ladies that kept their clothes. He's had so many operations on his stomach that he has 4 large hernias so what he used to wear will never ever fit him, so why is he keeping them I keep asking him. No answer, is the stern reply.
Hugs to all in need of one today and have a lovely Sunday.

  92. Good morning Sue and Wilsonette Angels,
WOW Sue, this is one of those dear cards that i just couldn't afford to buy. I must admit having fallen in love with the stamp and the die as it is a lovely shape but it will need to be way down the wish list as there are other more important things before it, like top of the list is getting the filigree poinsettia die as it is so pretty and i could them put the filigree bow with it to complement it. Thank you Sue for bringing that touch of luxury to our grasp as well.
Well done to all our winners this week.
Pam, i know exactly what you mean about the stating back work after being off for a while as i felt queasy, sweating, scared when i had been off for a year and they put me into a total new team that i knew no one, so yes flower deep breaths and do a Les Dawson in arms under bust putting everything in place and walk with head held high and as long as you are in flats you shouldn't fall.
Sandra, accomplished i am not, but i am trying to make them as handmade as possible and not look homemade. I took one to let my friend see it as i am going to be making her sons' wedding invitations(he is marrying my special niece) and she was fair taken with them and i am hoping that it wasn't because she was trying to be nice as i don't want to make a fool of them. I have made these in silver and white with iridescent lace, a diamanti heart with chiffon and satin ribbon through it. So fingers crossed that they are received ok.
Steph, you are just getting that after me yesterday, as i just couldn't get it through my noggin yesterday that it was patterned papers and not stamped, so don't worry you are good company. I wish instead of our brains going off on holiday by themselves they would take the rest of our body with them.
Alison, i am so glad you saw my beautiful country in all it's glory as it can be breath taking on some of the roads that you go up or come down. When the sun is shining you get to see all the different colours of trees, bushes, heathers and plants and just how they mark out the landscape is remarkable. We can have beauty in the tiniest thing though and so does England. A kind word, nod or action can make all the difference to a holiday and i am so glad you got treated to that. Welcome home though and i bet your cat is wondering if you are going to desert her again soon. How is your Aunt?
Tina, i have a stupid question:- is Anthea your daughters maid of honour? Because i can be slow i am not sure but what i can pick up is that she is your "adopted daughter". I have friends like that, that have adopted me over the years as the either the daughter they never had or the one they could always tell things to when their own was going off on a collision course with reality.Mum always said that Jim and I would get a piece(sandwich for anyone not Scottish, sorry) at anybodies door.
Thank you my angels for keeping me going when i need it most. You pick me up when i am down and keep me going when i don't see any point, so thank you can never say what i really feel and mean for what you all do for me.
Well my hills are still having a sleep in this morning so i will go and leave you all with hugs for all my angels here on blog and those not able at the moment,
    Love and crafty hugs

  117. Good afternoon Sue, and all the ladies.
I love everything about this card, Sue, but the background is a bit dark for me. Of course, seeing it up close and personal may convince me that it's not too dark (lol).
Alimecca - glad you're back and enjoyed your break in Scotland.
Sheila - congrats on your Anniversary. Only a few bumps along the way of 46 years, you're lucky. We have bumps every 46 minutes!!!
Pat SW - hubby's clothes are one of the bumps that we have. Them and shoes. He's worse than a woman for shoes and I cannot tell you how many have gone into the charity bag never worn!
Norah, because Scotland is so close we go regularly and have been when it's red hot, and when the golf courses have been under water up to the top of the flags. Doesn't make any difference - we always have a wonderful happy time.
Yorkielass, I'm so disappointed I won't get to meet up this time, but you're probably heaving a sigh of relief ha ha. x
Pam, don't get stressed, just go in and breathe and I bet everyone will make such a fuss of you.
    Love to all xx

Have just been to see my Mum and her sister who is visiting for a few days. Bless her she comes over from Ireland twice a year to check on Mum. I'm not sure they have stopped talking yet!!
Pam I along with everyone else will be thinking of you tomorrow. Just think how happy everyone will be to see you back - but remember you will be exhausted tomorrow night.
Congrats to the winners and I hope everyone has a good day. Helen K xx

Sheila. Many congratulations on 46 yrs of marriage, I hope you have had a lovely day. X

Hi Norah. Yes, Anthea was Claire's Maid of Honor or ( dis-honor )Her words not mine. Claire and Anthea met when Claire was doing her Saturday job. They instantly clicked ,and have the same wicked sense of humor. She adopted us the 1st time we met, she said she loved the mother daughter relationship I have with Claire and asked if she could be part of it. We didn't hesitate,as she comes with a lovely boy who thinks we are grand parents. ( love it ). Her mum is a lovely lady but does'nt really listen to her. Don't get me wrong she loves her mum. I have met her several times and she's lovely, but I get what Anthea means by not listening. They both have a tough path to walk now with Anthea's cancer, and we have opened our home up to Anthea her son Jake and her mum if they need a break and want to be waited on at weekends before the treatment starts again on the Monday.
Love and hugs to you and Rory X

Hugs to my special friends X
