Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  Welcome to another Wednesday card giveaway.  Today's card features some pretty Justrite stamps with a layered resist technique. I started with a piece of coconut white card and stamped the Justrite Doily One stamp all over it using a Clear Perfect Medium pad.  I heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  Next I used Dusty Concord Distress ink and inked over the entire background so the doily resisted the ink and the white embossing popped out.  Using the Floral Stitched background, I inked it with a Black Archival pad and over stamped the entire background with it, creating an interesting look.  I matted it with a thin white mat and a wider black mat to frame it.  Using the sentiment from the set, I stamped it  in black and cut it into a long flag.  I made two flowers out of felt, one purple and one white. These were made by folding a strip of felt in half and gluing the edges together, then snipping down the length of it and rolling it.  I seated the flowers on some white tulle with pearl strings and several die cuts of my Petite Vinery as embellishments.  The card was finished with my usual pierced mat layer, a thin lilac layer then a final white mat.  The finished dimensions are 6" x 7 1/2" in size.  Leave me a comment to be entered in the drawing.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's post.  All for now, Sue x

Morning Sue, Pam and all Wilsonettes. Such a stunning card today Sue, I love the way you have done the background with the black sitting flower effect from the stamp, the colours are so vibrant when you have the black and the embossed white patterns on them. This is my second favourite colour so your on to a winner with this one. I have not tried the felt flowers yet, I have loads of felt so must get round to trying it. Looking forward to seeing you on Sunday on C&C, will be glued to the box as well as taping it in case I miss anything hehe.............

I was reading some of the messages here yesterday and it is amazing how many crafting friends there are here, I can certainly understand why you have the second largest blog out there, and well deserved it is too, (I think you should be 1st myself.. what do you all think ladies and gents).........

Pam, still struggling with Robbie website......

Well best finish now as getting ready for my craft morning. Have a great day everyone, stay safe, healthy and happy and for all of you who are suffering in any way, sending healing hugs June Smith xxxxx

morning Sue
Today's gift is a beauty in lilac/white - a combination of colours I love.
What a fascinating background you made =must try to do something like it. I love your flowers and have yet again have to admit that I haven't tried forming flowers like these. Will really have to get my act together.
I still haven't made one C.card since I got back - I really do not know what's happened to me as by now I've usually got all of them done.

Norah - take things one step at a time. It's not an easy place where you're at. You're all in my thoughts.
Steph - where's that bubbly Steph gone? Hope you're OK.
Sandra - hope you're having an easy week as you'll need all your energy if you're going to Alley Pally. Just wish I could go - never mind I look forward to your report(lol).

Well I must really get on and complete my demo card and then start cutting. See I'm all behind with that too as I'm off to Manchester tomorrow to a craft show and then a very busy week-end. Where is all the time going!

Hope everyone is feeling a little better today. Take care and stay safe. See you tomorrow.

But with so much gorgeous things on show I usually fail miserably, but then again I expect we all do.

Best Wishes.

Pretty colour. I tried the resist technique but the ink seemed to really fade away. Has anyone else had this happen? Was it the paper? Have yet to try making felt flowers. Too bad work has to get in the way of crafting. Have a great day everyone.

Hi Sue oooh I like this, the resist background is lovely, the white really pops out. The felt flowers are few at too, must have a go using the felt I bought ages ago! Safe journey back to the uk Sue. Don't sell out of things on the Saturday please we are visiting Bath university so will have to watch on catch up but hope to see the Sunday shows. Went to a different supermarket today which is near our craft/vegetable shop. Thought I would take a sneaky detour, turned off at the wrong traffic lights and ended up going in a circle so gave up and came home- fate telling me not to spend my money lol! Have a great day love Diane G

Muriel hope you make a speedy recovery from your operation and take care hobbling around. It's great you can stay in touch with the blog whilst you are in hospital. Take care love Diane xxx

Hi Sue and all the Wilsonettes. What gorgeous flowers. I've made some a bit like that with paper but have never done any craft work with felt. That's another technique on my list of things to try. The resist stamping is really effective and I love the doily stamp. The lilac is a nice restful colour and the entire card is beautiful and a fantastic one for the Wednesday Give-away. As always, thanks for sharing with us. x

This is of course beautiful but more importantly this is the first card I have ever seen where I appreciated the use of felt. Normally I don't like that on cards but on this card it looks wonderful. Pinned it of course. http://www.pinterest.com/pin/415386765604931609/

Hi Sue, lovely colours as usual. Lovely stamping must try it.
Steph, no problem should be pushed aside, as if they don't matter or not as important as others. We are all here for you too remember that.
Well I'm glad yesterday's story of my fruitless trip cheered some up!
No fun happenings today, just been mending rugs all day, one day I will get to do more card making.
Well got to go and get ponies in ready for lessons this afternoon, big hugs to those suffering today in any way.
Special thoughts to Norah, Steph, Pam, Cameeli, Maureen, Margaret, tres, Tina, Lynne, June, Janet, Linda, Myra, Alison, Karen, P in Wales, Mrs B, Mrs Duck, Sandra, TOB, Theresa, and everyone I have missed xxx

Hi Sue, a lovely card that I think we would all like to win. The colours are perfect as are the felt flowers. I confess that for a nano-second I too saw a snowflake when first opening the blog lol.

A message from Norah - I never realised just how blessed this world was of pure Angels. I am so very blessed to know each and every one of you. My mum would be so touched at the amount of beautiful people I know. Just out of hospital as I have gastroenteritis. I am hoping to be better for Friday. Please let my ANGELS know just how much their kind thoughts mean to me.

Hi Sue,
superb card yet again today.
I love this fab technique and those lovely stamps.
Now after your demo yesterday I decided to play with my bow die, and it makes a lovely edge that looks like a doily round a circle die cut.
So thank you for helping me find an extra use for that die, as I do like my dies to do more than 1 thing, as I am on a pension and pennies for crafting are usually tight.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Hi Sue,
Beautiful card and I really like everything about it. Looking forward to seeing you on our tv screens at the weekend. Will have the recorder set.
Norah, please take care of yourself at this very difficult time. Hope Rory is coping alright, it must be very difficult and confusing for him. Sending you both big hugs and know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Lindsay, I thought that there was only me who could get something that wrong! Maureen, as much as I would like to say I would come and decorate for you, the answer is a firm NO! I hate every minute of it! At least Dave and I are still speaking and not heading for divorce!! Only downstairs to go go now. Lounge has to be finished by Monday night as new sofa arriving on Tuesday.the poor cat doesn't know what is going on and looks very unhappy. She's taken to sitting in the dining room on one of the chairs hiding under the table. She's not going to be pleased when we do in there either!! Steph, so sorry that you aren't your normal self, please know we are all here for you too. Love and hugs to all those above and also, Pam, Myra, Tres, Julie, Lynne and fur babies, Cameeli, Sandra, Yorkielass , Wheely Bad and apologies to those I've missed but sending love and hugs to you too!! Love Alison xx
