Sweet Dreams

Good Sunday morning all!  A simple, but sweet card for today's offering.  One of the things that I love to do is change die cuts to suit my card needs and this is no exception.  I started by embossing my white background with the Floral Brocade Pinpoint embossing folder for texture and interest.  I selected some aubergine coloured card and cut it with the Mystical Embrace die.  I love the look of this one, but it was just too long for my card.  I nipped it in the centre where the two circular knobs are and took that section away on the top and bottom.  I put the die back together, shortening it to fit my needs.  I glued it on to the background and overlapped the swirls in the ceentre to cover the cut area.  I used the smaller die from that set and cut it in white and shortened it as well.  I stamped the decorative scalloped circle from the Justrite Butterflies Cling set and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet before cutting it with a circle die.  I peeled the backing paper off and covered it with Iced Snow.  I stamped it again, but this time only cut out the smaller circular centre section with the butterfly.  I coloured it with a Shaded Lilac Distress marker and mounted it up on foam in the centre.  I finished the card with a pierced white mat layer, then the matching aubergine coloured card and a final white mat.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 7 1/4" in size.

    morning Sue
Before I do anything else I must congratulate Lynne for being the Wednesday winner and apologise for forgetting to do so yesterday. You're a very lucky girl!

Sue today's gift is so simple but so so elegant and beautiful. It certainly fits the bill of 'less is more' and who wouldn't love to receive this through their post box! I love the sound of the colours used today but on my machine they have come out as a steely grey and I love it in that scheme as well. Will definitely be doing this one.

Pam - So pleased to see you in your usual place. Yesterday just wasn't the same without you being their at the side of me while I was typing. Please take things slowly and very very carefully. You do not want to undo all that good work you and your surgeon have done.

Steph - you know that old song 'pick yourself up; dust yourself down and start all over again'. I use this a lot when things don't do what they're supposed to do because of me.

Norah - belated birthday wishes to that fantastic boy of yours. Sorry they're late as I didn't know. He's certainly one in a million and we could do with many more like wee Rory.

Well I'm saying this very very softly because I don't want to hex things but we have sunshine this morning and that makes two mornings in a row. It's down to single figures on the Angel (thermometer) but at least it's sunshine.

Congratulations to all the very lucky winners. I just know you'll enjoy your prize.

Sue - what are you doing to us? More surprises!! You're not doing my blood pressure any good. So looking forward to tomorrow.

Hope everyone is feeling a little better and brighter this morning. Enjoy the rest of the week-end and take care in whatever you do.
    See you tomorrow.

  31. Sunday Smiles to you Sue and my dear friends.

Pam - I did worry when you were not in your usual pole position yesterday, then totally mortified when I checked back to read the later posts I catch up with to read you had had a fall ! Oh my goodness Pam please take lots of care. I know it must be so hard now and I do think about you lots, just look round for any possible hazzards you may come across whilst on crutches and if any changes need to be made for your safety, remember its only temporary, and certain things will get back to 'normality' eventually.

PINK BARBIE - craft heaven shop warning ! Sue's dies in Tuesday but has orders. She ordered 3 of each and in her words "when they've gone, they've gone' as after making a phone call to head office - I presume, she was told that due to stores round the UK already sold out due to pre orders and requested more, they may well completly SELL OUT. So if you cant get to the shop Tuesday then ring her, ask which she has left and put it by so you dont lose the opportunity of a Sue C die.

On that note - CONGRATS Sue, seems like your C dies are going to be as hard to find as hen's teeth (in 'street shop's' )
Well done on your wonderful success again.

I love today's Sunday alarm. It really scream's a Sue Wilson simple but stunning. The die's are so pretty, and like on Janet's screen, it show's almost pewter for some strange reason, but still looks really pretty. I took a visit to my local craft heaven yesterday, bad move (at least it will be when I get my statement and found bank charges applied - again) !!! I know I know, someone here will probably want to reply ' no sympathy, only you are incharge of your finances) ! Yup ! Anyway, I had just been pipped to the post with the one and only Row's Of Bows EF she had in stock : ( but on a brighter note, I came back with the Lattice Heart folder : ) oh, and a few more essentials, so before our beautiful daughter pays us a visit - her new husband on call the weekend, I shall play.

Yet another tease I read lol. You madam, you just keep us hanging on ( I hear a tune buzzing round my head all day now) !
I will end now with many congrats to all winners today, enjoy your gift.

To my sweet lovely friends, I wish for you a happy, painfree day. Stay safe and as well as you can.

    Love you.

I'll say it again, you are a tease, another surprise, can't wait.

When are you on C&C, is it before or after Ally-Pally, because i would like a couple of Em. folders and being a crafter do not like paying the P&P on the telly.

  98. Hi Sue,
Thank you so much for showing that it is perfectly ok to cut up a die.....the number of times I've wanted to use one and it hasn't been the right size so I haven't used it as I've been wary of cutting it up - now I won't be. This card is lovely done this way.

  105. Good morning Sue and my fellow Wilsonettes,
What a lovely card Sue with that touch of Aubergine. I think that the mystical embrace die is such a beautiful one and was my favourite of the spellbinders release at the start of the year and the only one that i bought of spellies. I love your floral brocade folder and was using it yesterday. I think it might just be my favourite at the moment as it is so pretty when done and doesn't need too much in the way of decoration just a sentiment and bow and/or flowers. Thank you Sue for another beauty to add to our inspiration folder.
Well done to all the winners this week especially Anne Crawford, i know you will all enjoy your prize when it arrives.
Oh Pam flower, i hope that you are ok and there is nothing untoward happened to that ankle as i would hate to think you would need to go through all that again. Please take it easy, i know that it is hard trying to stabilize on crutches but take it slowly. Going at the top speed of a tortoise myself at times has a lot to be said for it. Please get up slowly and wait until you and crutches are as one before going off any where. Sorry lecture over, but sending you hugs.
Steph flower, put all away from your table and take out a couple of sheets of card,an embossing folder and die and then think what can i make with this. It might just help you just thinking of the one card at a time. I know you want all these different cards to be available but write down your ideas on a different sheet of paper for each so that you don't forget them and start at number 1. Don't put yourself down like that as you are a good card maker, and everyone hits that wall you are trying to climb. Sending you inspirational hugs in the hope that it might give you a boost.
Thank you Wheely for yesterdays story as it was really funny to hear about Billy and his antics as i thought he was a child up until a few weeks ago when you told us about your helping friend. I am sitting with visions of a dog lying down with it's back to you and it's paws crossed because it is in the huff. It's amazing how these clever animals can tell when there is something wrong and stay plastered to your side like sticky plaster. And as for ASD, yes my boy has to have everything counted and the right way and facing the exact same way but that could have a lot to do with his mum here having everything in colours, sizes and sets as i can do this all higgilty piggilty. He gives me kisses and cuddles all the time, i can't tell you the last time his sister did.

  107. Part 2 of the saga
Well after waking Mr M up at 6:20 this morning as i thought it was Monday and time for him to be back to work after being off for a fortnight, but it was just wishful thinking when i got barked at "it's sunday, shut up" oh well i could live in hope. I am so glad that his holiday is up although he was getting that fancy dancy upgraded lazer work done on both eyes, has it stopped him from working on in the house..NO. Now to explain, my hubby doesn't think he should be working all day and me not, so expects me to keep up with all his different jobs with me not sitting down either. Well this would be fine if i was under 26 once more and have had no accidents by this point but since i am well in excess of this mark and having abused my body numerous times in throwing it downstairs and having big artic lorries crash into the back of me making my Astra into a Corsa, the body complains, the legs complain and then i get the message from the brain when lying prone "well you had been warned and you should know better". Hubby doesn't notice until i am in said prone position and then gives me a lecture about knowing when to stop. Someone give me strength. Why is it that some men are so blind that they can't see in front of their noses what is happening? Anyway, after getting up and rested, he comes and says wee gems like "are you going to sit there all day and do nothing", where can i win. Oh for peace to rain serenely again tomorrow and then the Schools are back on Tuesday, so might just take my bonnie lad for a McD’s as we only go when it is a special treat as I am a funny peculiar mum that doesn’t agree with too much of this rubbish.
Well it's still not nice weather up here so i will go and leave you all and see you tomorrow hopefully. Sending gentle hugs to Robbie, Baby Leo, Cheryl and all the very special people that make up this blog,
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

  114. Hi Sue,
You are such an inspirational person you know. This card is lovely and I really should follow your lead and start cutting into die cuts etc. I just never seem to think about it! Love the aubergine card as well. Really looking forward to your surprise tomorrow.
Steph, I really felt for you yesterday, but don't give up. Obviously people like your cards otherwise they wouldn't buy them! We all have times when we just want to throw in the towel and wonder what on earth we are going to do. I can spend about 4 hours looking at things trying to decide what I want to do for one card. Once I've decided what to do the actual card might on,y take about 45 minutes to make up!! My husband can't believe that it can take so long for one card. Sometimes I just walk away for the day and come back the next day and find that I know exactly what I want to do! It also doesn't hurt to go and spend a bit of money on something ( as long as you don't go crackers!) - I think it's called retail therapy! Hope everyone is ok and sending congrats to the winners. Love and hugs to all especially those feeling down. Love Alison xxx

  115. Hi all, Sue I love the way that you make the dies work for you rather than working around the die! I've never tried it cos I reckon i'd end up cutting it wonky! Still if it goes wrong it's only a piece of card! Love Sarah
