Christmas Wishes

Good Sunday morning all!  I was going to keep the Christmas cards for Fridays but I had already loaded this one up for today.  I am still sure they are more than enough Christmas cards to do double days as well as a few scattered here and there!  In other words, I made a lot of Christmas cards!  I love the simplicity of this one.  I stamped the Quilt Block background by Justrite using a Snow cap Adirondack pigment ink pad on to white card and heat set it.  I inked over the background with Aqua Adirondack ink, bringing the pattern up just so it looks like a ghost image in the background.  I used the Justrite Snowflake and a Cobalt blue Archival ink and over stamped the background.  I matted it with a thin white mat.  I stamped my sentiment on to vellum using a Clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I cut it into a strip and mounted it across my card.  I used a Create a Flake for my snowflake which I seated on the end of the strip.  I cut a larger white mat and ran double sided tape around the edge and coated it with Iced Snow for a bit of bling.  I layered up my background on it then added my final double white mat with the inner pierced layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.

  1. Morning Sue and everyone, lovely card today, so gorgeous. Well done to all winners.
Thank you for all of the wonderful comments about Robbie, you don't know how much it means to have all of your support. I feel as if I am so far away to support them but you are all here to listen to me, my blog sisters, I am so very grateful. I forgot to say yesterday, Robbie is building his AB strength to sit up, he now has a 2-pack and is working to regain the other 4. Mary said he is very proud of his 2-pack.
Physio yesterday agreed with Wednesday, so back on 2 crutches, part weight bearing but I will do it.
Dianeandchips, how goes it hun x
Hope everyone is well, migraines gone.
    Welcome back Janet.
Huge hugs and love to everyone, you are very special people.

  20. Sunday Smiles as usual to you Sue. Happy Sunday to our comment winners, what a lovely start to your day, HOW many times have you scrolled up n down to double check lol, if you are anything like the rest of us - LOADS ... Enjoy your gift ladies.

Oh Pam, Im sorry to read about your little 'hiccup' regarding your poowly ankle hon. Please try not to get too dispondent and I know its easy for me to say,and I know it seems like forever since your accident, but hop- fully (sorry ) : ) this will help you start to get you back to full health again. What great news about Robbie, who would have thought that he was going to make this much improvement at the start, wow, his body must have been in SO much shock for it take so long to rest, but he's coming on a treat : ) let's all hope baby Leo fights as hard.
Tina, my thoughts were with you yesterday love.

Sue, Im starting to feel all over protective again ! Im seeing quite a few die companies following your designs, swwet little bow's, the odd familiar EF's and I dont think it's right ! There, concern and 'rant' over, if Id not put how I feel in words it would keep chewing away at me !!

The gift from you today is so delicate, then the Colbalt Blue to throw out the background, its quite an unusual Sue card, I dont like to say this, but it looks 'too empty' for your card, it makes me want to put something either across the top, or add something small but stunning somewhere, its lovely for a quick easy card which when making C cards is so necessary to allow us more time to work on those extra special cards. Id love to tot up how many cards you make a year, apart from blog cards that is, as everyday there is new inspiration, idea's and techniques, I know you have been doing this a lot longer than I have, and have so much more to work with than I have, but how on earth do you think of something new and different to forfill the quota of cards you have to make ? It just amazes me. Thank you.

Janet - hope you manage to fit all you need back into your car ready for your trip back to play with your new dies that will be waiting for you (although I do know that the week ahead is rather manic for you) !! Do you ever find room to take a few naughty cakes back with ? Lol.

Well, Im done, apart from wishing you well this Sunday Sue, which at the moment is dark damp and wet up North ! Hoping you are happy and well.
To my lovely ladies, I hope you have a decent day with less discomfort than yesterday, and if I could take any sorrow or pain from you I would.
    Have a lovely day.
    Love you.

I Love Today's Card, I Love The Fabulous Colour! And How You Used Snow Cap Ink Pad To Create Your Amazing Ghost Like Background, Then Going Over With Your Beautiful Aqua Adirondack Ink, This Brings Out The Glories Detail (I hope you spell it like that Lol!)
Then I Loved How You Then Went Over It Again This Time Using The Beautiful Colbalt Blue I So Love The Velum Sentiment , Where You've Used True White Embossing Powder, This Looks Amazing, I Love How You've Created A Mat/Laer And Added The Awesome Iced Snow, I know it's Your One Of Many Of Your Favourite Products But It's It's Mine Too.

  79. Hi Sue
Another stunning Christmas card. So easy to make to. And as luck would have it I actually have these stamps. Nice touch with the vellum as well. Like Lancs Steph I've noticed that some companies are jumping on your band wagon Sue. But I must admit your are more delicate and the correct size for bows, and theirs are much to large to put on a card.
Great news regarding. Robbie, he's lucky to have a two pack never mind a six one. Keep up the good work with your poorly leg and you'll get there. As least you will be able to get around a bit more. No running mind you.

Such a beautiful card for today, oh I can almost feel the quiet chill that always comes when it snows with that lovely blue background and the single crisp snowflake, thank you.

Hang on in there Pam you can do it, with just a little more patience you will get there. Please don't get over ambitious with those crutches! So pleased for Robbie he is one very determined young man all credit to him and his wonderful team at rehab.

Sue I really have to agree with Steph other companies are producing very similar dies and embossing folders to yours. I think it is so unfair of them, they should know better but in my opinion they are poor copies. Rant over just had to say though.

Tina you were in my thoughts yesterday, you are one brave lady.

So nervous but very proud for my daughter who is starting her new job tomorrow, as a deputy head in a new school, she is so excited about it.

  93. Good morning Sue and Wilsonettes,
I love the ghosting image to the background Sue, it gives that subtle look under the aqua ink. Think this is a lovely plain card with the lovely snowflake could probably appeal to more people than we may think.
Well done to all the winning Wilsonettes, enjoy your prize when it arrives.
Time taken which will be wisely spent Pam and see you back to yourself again. And what a lad, a 2pack already, good going Robbie. I think that is what friends are there for, the good and the bad days Pam. We will never get fed up hearing you because friends always have that shoulder and listening ear and what hurts you, hurts us for you if that makes any sense. You keep on telling and we will keep on supporting Team Pam in here at Team Sue.
yes Steph, i have also noticed that about Sue's ideas influencing or just plain.... think i had better keep the rest of that sentence filed in my brain. I notice that this company has also brought out fancy ones in with the plain set in both sizes. It seems that patent goes for nothing or so it seems to me. Have i bought the "new" dies, not on your life as i have the original and best in my mind and probably yours too flower. I may not have all the designs yet but i do have the main ones near enough and will wait until i can get the rest, although someone keeps bringing out new ones and like you i haven't anywhere near finished collecting the 1st set.
Well done Rose(Breezes) and glad that you have become a Wilsonette, but what a name to call your village, that's probably what i call Glasgow motorway on a week day morning rush hour...Chaos. Glad that you have won when you live so far from decent craft shops.
Deborah (Artliff), do like me, ink the stamp, TAKE the CARD to the stamp and press it firmly all over the stamp. I sort of rub the card on the back so that i don't miss a bit and it works each time for me. I used to do the stamp to the card carry on until i seen Sue do it the other way around and get a perfect image. Try, what have you got to lose?
Edwina (Scotley) sorry to hear that you have been in hospital the last 8 days, i hope that now that you are at home and back with us that you will regain your strength again, but not too quickly as we don't want you landing back in there in a hurry.
Well what a glorious day we are having up here in the sunny Ochils. My hills are so beautiful on a day like this and so wonderful to gaze upon. The villages down at the bottom of the hills because they sit at their feet, they don't get the full picture of their beauty. It's one of those peaceful days as daughter has come in from nightshift so is sleeping, son is at pals house last night so picking up at 4pm and hubby has taken his mood and went back to bed so peace reigns serenely in my house at the moment, long may it last. 99. Good Morning Sue & lovely blog friends,
Beautiful snowflake card today, a very sophisticated design, I love it, the colour combination too!
Pat, Mrs B & I were discussing the pick of week launch on Friday and the similarity to some of Sue's existing designs, but the dimensions looked all wrong and they just didn't look right, I guess there will be many 'copies' but I am confident none will surpass Sue's in either design or quality it must be very frustrating as a designer though, or maybe flattering that they all want to copy!
Pat I hope you are all packed for your holiday, don't forget your books!
Sue (mrs B) I will be thinking of you tomorrow, I hope all goes well, hugs xx
Cameeli I hope you are well, maybe we can chat and catch up this week? X
Margaret, I hope you are well, I am sure your daughter will be fine, it's always very scary though starting a new job, big hugs to you xxx
Lots of love & hugs to all of you lovely ladies, including..Myra,Margaret, Linda, Lynne, Norah, Pam, Julie, Brenda, Hazel, Ann,Anne, Steph, Pat, Sue, Lynda, June, and all the rest of you too x

  152. Hi Sue, sorry I'm late today but as Norah said, it has been a beautiful day here and I wasn't wasting it indoors. I have worked in the garden all day and can 'see where I have been' although no-one else would probably notice! I am now shattered and looking forward to a long hot bath but had to come on here first.
I love the deceptively simple look to this card. I do usually stick to the traditional Christmas colours but have to admit to having made several snowflake cards in blue so will have to give this one a go.
Congratulations to the blog prize winners, enjoy.
I'm rather glad to see it has started to rain now, good for the plants I have put in.

Fabulous card and I love the colours. The stamp is gorgeous. Well done to all of the winners, enjoy your prizes.
Just a quick visit today as I'm shattered! We have decided to decorate the whole house ( probably a bad move!) stupidly I bought some " Once" paint for one of the bedrooms. I thought I would start painting today as Dave was out. What a mistake! I ended up going over bits that I thought I'd missed with the roller - I think I must have put about 4 coats on and it still looks blotchy! Finally gave up and did the coving instead and when Dave came in told him he had to finish the walls! I was as sick as a chip!dave assures me it will be fine when it dries - I have yet to be convinced. One thing is certain - I won't be buying that paint again. Give me ordinary emulsion any day. Anyway, I need my bed so I will wish everyone goodnight, hope you've had a good day and that everyone is feeling ok. Margaret, I hope your daughter enjoys her new job. Love and hugs to everyone, will see you all tomorrow. Love Alison xxx
