Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi there!  I am switching gears and going back into Christmas mode for today's giveaway.  I stamped the background using the Striped Holly background by Justrite using a Clear Perfect Medium pad on to coconut white card. I heat embossed with True White embossing powder then inked across the card with Brushed Pewter distress stain.  The embossing resisted the ink, but gave the card a softer look than just stamping on to silver card.  For the focal element, I stamped the Ornament using a clear Perfect Medium pad and embossed it with Silver Shine embossing powder.   I cut it out with a large circle die.  I stamped the image again, heat embossed it and cut out just the centre sentiment section with a smaller circle die.  I foam mounted it in the centre.  I stamped the dots on to a strip of white card and embossed them with silver and added them so it looked like the ornament was suspended by them.  Using my Classic bow die, I cut it in soft silver card for the base of my bow.  I used the Lattice bow die and cut it in white.  I made  the bow by layering the classic underneath the Lattice and assembling a double bow with tails.  I cut the tails apart so they didn't cover the hanging dots and mounted them to each side of it.  I finished the card with a mat of white with a pierced edge, then a thin mat of silver and a final mat of white card.  Finished dimensions are 6" x 7" in size.  If you would like to be in the drawing for this one, just leave a message today.  The winner will be announced on the blog on Saturday.  All for now, Sue x

This Card Is Truly Stunning, What a Fantastic Idea for Fabulous Christmas Cards, keep them coming.
I really Love how you've used
The Striped Holly Background from JustRite, then stamping on your beautiful Coconut White Card and using one of your Fantastic embossing Powders in White (The Creative Expression Embossing Powders are wonderful so fine that's why you get such a clear image when stamping)
I really Love how you've gone over The Background once you've heat embossed it with your Brushed Silver Distress Stain it gives such a Fantastic effect.
I Love The Focal Image where once again you have used The Silver Shine Embossing Powder, doing this twice I can see you've mounted The Main Image onto your Card then from the second image you've cut out just the centre then mounted that onto your main image, I Love how your Cards have height. Then there's Your Awesome Bow's I'm Truly Loving How your using Your Classic Bow with many of the others and it looks Wonderful Like this Card you've used The Awesome Classic Bow along side with your Lattice Bow, each and every day I just Love your work.

    morning Sue
I do so love that holly stamp. It makes such a beautiful background. Your Bows are really something to die for and today's gift just shows one of them off to it's greatest advantage.
Who wouldn't want this gift sat in pride of place; not just at Christmas but all year. I know I would so fingers/toes crossed.

Lindsey; Lynda and all other Wilsonettes who answered my plea - thank you so much - today's the day I shall be attempting this particular task.

Norah - So pleased you had a fantastic day - but of course there really wasn't a question of anything else. I have to say I can still see you walking on cloud nine today and so some time to come. Perhaps Sue will come to South Yorkshire one day - we can always hope. I agree that it is far better seeing a technique live rather than reading on how to do it. So have a really good rest today and then it's ready to try out all that Sue taught you!

Sandra and Steph - missed you yesterday - Hope you are both OK.

Hope everyone is OK (well as you know by now OK on my scale which includes all aches/pains/and other hurts etc)Take care and see you tomorrow.

  75. Good morning Sue and Sue-ettes : )

Happy - - th Birthday jacq, have a lovely day. Seems like ages since I saw that birthday !

Norah - read your comment yesterday but thought twice about answering as I thought - you would be either trying out what you've learnt at the demo or taking a power nap before starting again. Im so glad you had the chance to attend Sue's demo day, and hopefully had the chance to have a little chat with our precious friend. I bet you cant wait to try out the techniques you learnt.

Janet, I was here yesterday, and added my 'advice' on your folder frustration ! Hope something works for you, if not then id definatly ring the compamy for help.

Sue, As Ive said previously, I love silver for a C.card so it put a smile on my face when I opened your blog earlier this morning. Your new striped holly stamp is sooo pretty, as is the ribbon stamp you worked with the last time you were on CC. Using my phone to log in each morning, I dont see full screen, so I was chuffed to bits when I read you are back on our t.v screens this weekend, AND I will be actually in to watch it as the next craft market isn't until the 27th thank goodness, as many cards to make, with very little mojo !
Im sure you habe made many new friends during your 'craft tour' so Im looking forward to welcoming new Wilsonettes' Sue-ettes to our wonderful family.
As much as Id like to say rest up after your mega crafting marathon up and down the country, Im sure you have lots to do and catch up with, so I'll bid you a safe journey back home (such a long drive for you) and it would be so lovely to welcome you to Lancashire one day.
Barbie Fairy - hope you find what you want today if you manage to get to CBN. I need more card, so may say "hi" to Lyn myself this week : )

Pam, Nana Tina, Julie, and any lovely ladies that dont feel so great today, tomorrow is another day, so Im sending gentle hugs to try and get you through this day.

    Love you.

I hope you're taking some me time after the last week! Congratulations for the way your dies were received by the way. Norah have you come back to earth yet? Janet, I didn't add to my post yesterday about the platform sandwich as others already had advised you but I forgot to add that you cab download a guide from Craftwellusa.com that gives you the details. Also, if you spritz the card lightly with water first you get a lovely deep impression. Jackie have a great birthday. 118. Good Morning Sue & Friends,
A very sophisticated christmas card this morning, very classy and 'high end', the kind you save for a special friend or family member! It was a good idea to cut the tail in two so that they highlight the hanging part of the bauble, it shows how versatile they are.
You must be ready to get into your bed by now, you have had a very busy few days, tied in with the excitement of the launch at the same time, I was going to suggest a rest but you are doing the 'tool shed' show on Create and Craft on Sunday, will you be introducing your new dies??
Norah are your feet back firmly on the ground yet.i was so excited for you yesterday , I am sure it was all you imagined and more.
Janet has the weather improved, it's warm over here at the minute, we are in for some high temperatures over next couple of days, I hope you are too, it might get those grapes ripened ready for picking, do you 'tread' the grapes the old fashioned way? Haha
Big hugs to all of my special friends

  158. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
A lovely card in the white and silver. I lifted this background yesterday at Craft World but put it back as i preferred the wider one for myself(thinking of getting holly ribbons out of it). I think the bow and centre piece would make a beautiful card holder for Christmas as this what your pretty card is saying to my wild imagination. I hope that you and Julia take it easy going back down the road home as you never stopped yesterday. 3 demos back to back with a 30 mins in between cleaning up and putting away from the last, wow wonder woman couldn't have done any better with all her fantastic powers. I am glad that you have enjoyed Scotland and it's beauty once more. I wonder how many times that lass on the outside door was asked to get you to come again, as i bet she heard it everytime someone went out the door. I finally get the hi low technique having seen the results yesterday, i can understand why you like to do it so much as it was stunning. I think that i will practice and make a card for mum's friend Sue who is blind as i always try to make a card that she can see with her hands. Years ago i found the braille alphabet on the internet, so i use my pokey tool to write her a message. She laughs at it as she says it is awhful small and i really try to do it so that she can read it(it is a lot bigger than my normal writing).
Happy Birthday Jacq, i hope you have a great day and enjoy every minute of it. You have now just reached the new 40 and the doors are open for you to enjoy your new time of life.
Thank you Lorraine for speaking to me yesterday, for the life of me i couldn't place who you were with the Klassylady name. I'm not too good at remembering names, faces are entirely different. Glad that you got to come as well, it was Fluffy cat(Frances) that i was with as we literally live about a mile apart, lovely lady with a smile from ear to ear.
Girls i had the most wonderful of days yesterday and loved every minute of it.The legs are on strike today so i will not be anywhere today but oh it is so worth it for yesterday. I couldn't believe that Sue knew who i was as lets face it we are all a name amongst 5000 others, so that i really think speaks volumes about this lovely lady. Afraid nothing that hubby can say to me will be able to take away the fantastic time i had. James the carer came for Rory and is telling me that tomorrow and Friday is supposed to be a heatwave, hotter than Ibiza, well it's going to have some going because my hills are playing host to the clouds and drizzle today. I hope that where ever you are the sun is shining if not outside then from within. Sending big hugs to all our fragile friends that need that wee bit extra comfort, i am thinking of you.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)
