On Your Special Day

Hi bloggers!  Sort of a wedding type of card, gold and white.  This card uses the Justrite Ribbon and Swags stamp set.  I cut a square of coconut white card and stamped the border on each side using a Clear Perfect Medium.  Once stamped, I heat embossed them with gold detail powder and matted the piece with a soft gold mat.  I cut a smaller square and used the corner from the set and stamped it in each of the corners and gold embossed it as well. Another soft gold mat was added. I stamped the circular design from the set on soft gold card, heat embossed it in gold and cut it out with a circle die.  I layered up all the pieces with mounting foam between them.  I stamped my sentiment, gold embossed it and cut it out with a smaller circle die.  I cut a faux quilled leaf and nipped it apart and added the pieces around a satin gold ribbon rose.  I made a fancy stick pin and added it as an accent.  The card was finished with a double white mat with a thin soft gold mat in the middle.  The inner layer was paper pierced as a framing accent.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

What a gorgeous card, Sue! So elegant in gold and white and the Ribbon and Swags stamps provide some beautiful gold embossed detail. The ribbon roses and faux leaves with pearls on tulle are such a lovely finishing touch on these cards and as delicate as they look they're fairly crush-proof in the post. Really stunning!

    Hi Sue,
    happy Independence Day!
The card is lovely - elegant but not over the top. White and gold is always a winning colour combination, and the faux leaves are so cute but the whole thing works.

HAPPY 4th JULY TO YOU AND YOURS.
What a spectacular gift today. Golden Wedding Anniv just shouts. Regal doesn't do it justice.
Today's gift has certainly gone to the top of my favourite list.
I would love to adopt today's gift - so sad it isn't the Wednesday give away. I can dream though!!
Sandra - Please Please take care as Cameeli says no more accident please. I know it isn't easy sometimes to stand on our own two feet but your little monkeys should know that Mummy needs care! Hope you're feeling OK this morning.
Norah - 'Don't you just love em' to quote my Mum. Sometimes your hands just itch to go around someone's neck after all the work you put in to please them. I know mine do.
Market day in our local town so off to market I go.
    Hope everyone else is Ok.
    See you tomorrow.

I love the Ribbon and Swags stamps and think this card shows them off perfectly, and as always your rose is beautiful (mine are getting better, spritzing the card makes such a difference) I hope you are getting a bit of rest before your roadshow up north : )
Pam, sending my daily hugs to you and Robbie. I don't know if the hospital told you but padded palms lightweight cycle or weightlifting gloves will protect your hands a little and should stop you getting blisters. Keep reminding yourself each day that it is one more day nearer to the end goal : )
Pam S, Witney. Sorry but I don't have your email address and can't find it. Please could you let me have it, thanks. I am looking forward to seeing you and Sandra:)
Norah, bless you. So sorry that your card, which sounds beautiful, wasn't appreciated by your girl but I'm sure the Bride and Groom will treasure it. I hope the dark clouds are staying away from your hills today, I think they have come down here actually! : )
Sandra, I emailed you before reading yesterdays comments. I do hope that your fall hasn't left you in too much extra pain, bless you.
Sending hugs to Sue and all of my special friends. Have a good day everyone. Take care.

  79. Good Morning Sue & Friends,
Firstly, Happy 4th July Sue, do you celebrate? I can imagine your Mum having her Independance Day Celebrations at the Breakfast Club!
Today's card is rich, opulent and gorgeous without being too much! That stamp is so pretty!
Eemeeli, I am happy to use my Dies to die cut some shapes for you, you tell me what colours and I will gladly send them to you, sharing is a huge part of being a crafter and I would be more than happy to share! Just click on my picture and leave me a message!
Norah, you do make me chuckle! I have too many 'teenagers' and they all have ago at 'trying it on' but it doesn't work with me! You must have been so frustrated about the wedding card, the first thing I always ask is 'did they like it' because after putting you time and effort into creating a little work of art you want some good feedback!
Claire W, I do hope you enjoyed your golf day, I have to admit I had no idea what you were saying, but it sounded like you did well!
Maria, thanks for your kind words, you sisters house sounds a little chaotic, 4 dogs, five puppies! What fun!
Julie, I hope you are feeling brighter, hugs to you and Lee of course!
Well I am going to go and have a go at those gorgeous gilded roses today, if I make it to the craft room, so many distractions, housework (boo), kittens & internet!
Steph you sound like me, it takes me about an hour and several attempts to write this much, as after my morning meds kick in I start nodding off again, not sure how many times my hand drops down and that wakes me up and I start again, lol x
    Hugs to all my friends

I do like my cards and handmade gifts to be an experience starting at the wrapping or box envelope. Happy crafting to all xxx

A very pretty and elegant card today, I love the ribbon and swag stamp.

Margaret, I am so hot down here, I have put the aircon on. Paul will be as miserable as the weather up there but maybe not so windy. I hope you are feeling better.

Sandra, I know what you mean about doing housework when there are kittens to play with. My housework has never taken soo long. Enjoy!

Lots of big hugs to Steph, Margaret, June, Pam & Robbie.

    Kind Regards to all :-)

  116. Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What an opulent looking card that you have made today for us.I love the stamp that you have used as it reminds me of series that has been on the television showing period decor in the "grand" houses and this is the kind of design that they have traveling around the walls or around the ceiling. I too think that it is a multi functional stamp that would make beautiful Christmas cards as well as the beautiful wedding card that you have chosen to make for us today. Happy Independence Day Sue and all our friends from across the water. I hope that you have a great day and what better than a Friday when you can have the weekend off recovering from the party.I too am so looking forward to you coming to Glasgow and i've been greedy. Because it is quite a distance from me, i booked for both the morning and the afternoon slots. How does it feel being a big "Star" of the crafting world? I never went through the idoling of pop stars and didn't realise just what it was like until finding your site. You are our STAR Sue, and i've already got an autograph so i wont pester you for one.
Oh thank you friends for understanding my despair yesterday with daughter and nice to know that mines isn't unique. And yes ladies hands do sometimes itch to go around a cylindrical object that is invariable attaches to a body. It's not that you want gushing thanks, but just to know that it is nice is all i ask and that she is happy with it. I have my friends daughters wedding this afternoon, 4th time. I would have given up a long time ago, in fact i wouldn't have gone down that road a 2nd time never mind a 4th. I asked her if she was trying to be the poor mans answer to Elizabeth Taylor, but she says that if this doesn't work she's not going down the road for a 5th time. So since absolutely nothing is organised other than at the registars office, i will where just a nice dress and put some of my flowers for my cards in the plait that it will go up in.
Pam, please hop carefully as we don't want you injuring your good leg/ankle. I use gel pads that are for the ball of your foot in shoes to cushion my sticks as the hands can get sore when you are using them for a while.
Heather, i hope your eldest son has a wonderful birthday. Happy Birthday Heather's eldest son.
Lynne and Lyndsay, i am so missing you from the blog. I hope that you lovely ladies are alright and our fur babies and our beautiful foals.
Well i'm going to go and finish the card i made for today's wedding and i will hopefully see all you lovely people tomorrow. My hills have been pinched again and taken over by a smirri rain clouds. Please let it clear up for just 5 minutes pleaseee.
Sending gentle hugs to all our friends that are in need of them, Robbie and Gail's brother, i hope that he is a bit easier now Gail with the proper treatment. My prayers go to you, him and young Robbie, i hope that you are improving each day.
    Love and crafty hugs

  143. Happy Independence Day Sue - on YOUR special day. Another beautifaul card - thank you so much. Sorry I haven't visited for a while - just catching up with myself after a very hectic musical week-end. Big concerts on Friday evening and Saturday afternoon (where I nailed my Les Mis solo - thank goodness) then Saturday evening sang again and played my ukulele at a fund raising Rock Concert. By Sunday lunchtime I was running on "empty" and had a lovely afternoon nap (old lady or what???). This Sunday evening I'm with my pals "The Ukes of Hazzard" at a music festival at Goring and Streatley so if any Wilsonettes are in that neck of the woods please come along and say hello. It's a free event - but in the open air so we are praying for dry weather.

NORAH - I must share this with you after your disappointment of not being appreciated. I spent a lot of time last year making a lovely Christmas Cracker, which I filled with handmade chocs for my step granddaughter. I decorated it beautifully with a hand painted reindeer, complete with sparkly nose. It was supposed to be a keep sake - perhaps to either put on the tree next year or at the very least recycle it for another gift. She emptied the contents into a dish, and before my horrified eyes screwed it up like you would wring out a dishcloth and threw it in the rubbish bin! I was so good - I didn't utter a word - but I will be very careful who I give one of my "masterpieces" from now on. I just think that non crafters really don't have a clue how much time, effort and love goes into these things (let alone the cost). We do our best....love to all Susan X
