Misted Flowers

Hello crafters!  Today's video shows another way to use the Classic Rose die set to achieve a completely different looking flower using it.
I still have not heard back from either of the last two card giveaway winners, Aquarius or Pauline A, or the Blog candy winner, Loftylass.  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com so I can get your prizes out to you.  I will give you another week to claim the prizes, then I will draw if I haven't heard from any of the winners!

Buy from Joanna Sheen

Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  1. Morning Sue, love todays card, gorgeous.
Tandy, I am so sorry you are having such a bad time, hope things start to improve for you.
I had news from the USA that my 19 yr old nephew had a skateboarding accident, broke his neck and may be paralysed, no movement yet in his legs but slight movement in his arms, we are so worried about him, my lovely brother and his wife and daughter are obviously devastated, as are we his family in the UK. I feel so useless being so far away.
Love and hugs to all on the blog.

To everyone else (too many to mention) who needs a cuddle or a prayer I will think of you. Reading the blog each day makes me realise that we all have a cross to bear but with the vibes that we all get life and our ails will be easier to cope with.

  50. Beautiful card as always. Caught up last night with your shows that i recorded to get a second chance of the demos. And I have to agree with Sam Smithard that there wasn't much time for more than 1 demo in some shows as having taped it, I noticed that the timer showed Leonie used the first 23 minutes of the show just to go through the items on sale. Then it was another 15 mins throughout the show going over the products yet again. Verbal diarrhoea or what!

Things in the USA for spinal problems are so much better, I had a spinal accident and after surgery my consultant got me a wonderful appliance from America as nothing like it was available here. 65. Good Morning Sue & lovely blog friends,
Lovely card today, I am off to watch tutorial in a few minutes! Thank you Sue x
I think that the only solution to the C &C demoing thing is for Sue to do 2 hour shows (like the tool shed and the Barbara Grey classroom) that way they can spend the first half hour going through products, leaving an hour and half for demo's, Sue isn't on that often and she has a huge following so it must be a viable solution! Their figures must soar when Sue is in residence!
Pam, what shocking news, you must be devastated, these things can heal with time, it's amazing what medical miracles take place, so try and stay positive, it will be very hard, the distance thing does make it harder, but they know they have your constant support
Huge hugs to ALL of you lovely ladies,

  69. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
I have had the joy of seeing today's masterpiece in 3 different versions. The top picture is of a airforce blue, grey and white. Then i have a tan, toffee, pinky beige and cream. And lastly the proper colours of lilac, purple and cream. It is a beautiful card and i love all the little filigree detail that comes through because of the beautiful dies. Thank you Sue for the efforts you put in to give the English version of words that are so different from your native American. I first heard the word "eggplant" when a friend along time ago daughter came back to visit from the States and she had a hard time finding Eggplant to fry. We went all through the various vegetables before we found out it was an aubergine that she was looking for.
Sue, i am quite sure it wouldn't be any hardship for us to take the poor wee cards that haven't been claimed yet and are feeling so unloved, any one of us would give it a loving home.
Oh Pam, i am so dreadfully sorry to hear your news today. I truly hope that your fears are not answered. I have broken my back 3 times but always in the same place, where my bra hooks so i am so lucky. That poor boy, my brother was a skate boarding fanatic in the 70's and i know some of the states he came in after trying his latest stunts, but he always came back in relatively one piece, battered and bruised but whole. Oh how my thoughts are with you and his poor parents and sister who must be so worried. I will be sending up wee prayers for his recovery and i am hopeful that the wee movement in his arms carries on down the rest of his wee body.
Mrs B, you me and a good few others on this site would fail a drugs test with no problem at all, but i am glad that you are beating the pain back with them though.
Before cutting my hair it was down at my waist for the first time in decades but it did need some of it. The last time it was as long as that was in P5 at the school when i had moved over to Clackmannanshire. I took ill and was put in the nurses room at the school and someone came in while i was asleep and cut a big chunk out of my hair.
I am hoping that the clouds that are having a rest the now on top of my hills. You know it must be awful tiring being a cloud having to go around the sky with no where to have a sit down, this must be why they created hills i think. Going into Stirling to see my friend today as Falkirk has the Queens baton going through it and we have it across here tomorrow, so it will be a no go area while it is on. Thank goodness for crafting, it is such a sanity keeper.
Gail, i hope your son is making a full recovery and your brother is at least in no pain. You are in my thoughts as is your beloved brother and his family.
Tandy sending you hugs flower, take them and wrap them tight around you, thinking off you.
Steph, can you switch on your ESP so that you can take in some calming thoughts and gentle hugs before your daughters big day. You have everything there, all ready just need the day to arrive now. Walk the new shoes around the carpet for a while so that you don't have sore feet on the big day.
Lindsay and Lynne, you were so quiet yesterday and no update on our foals or fur babies. Hope you are both ok.
Have a good day everyone, sending hugs to our more fragile friends for what ever reason. I hope that the sun is shining for you, if not outside, then from inside out.
    Love and crafty hugs
    Norah (Glenochil)

  99. Hi Sue, another beautiful card and I love the roses. I have been making these since you first demonstrated them many months (maybe years?) ago but using Spellbinders dies. I will have to give them a go with the Classic Rose dies. I am glad the video showed the true colours of the card as my computer is showing the same mixture of colours as Norah's and they are nowhere near as appealing as the real thing.

Pam, so sorry to read of your nephew's accident, thinking of you all and hoping for a speedy recovery.

Well I can't see Norah's hills as they are shrouded in mist and the rain is falling here much as it is at Headingley so not much Test cricket to listen to or gardening to be done today. I can feel a crafty afternoon coming on :-)
Hope the sun is shining on everyone else.

  123. Hellooooooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Oooo our Sue! Brilliant video! Gorgeous card! Although I don't have the California collection I love it. It's just classy and stunning. I love those flowers! As always thank you for the demonstration....AND the reminder! I will have to have a go as I do have the classic rose dies and they do look gorgeous! Like Norah has said too, in the pictures (not a bad thing honest!) there is a choice of three colour combinations we can do. It's great to see that and you could call it a threefer one! About the tool shed idea, it would be good, but then you do all these videos and you give us so much of your time anyway Sue xx So "thank you" xx

  136. Evening Sue and lovely Wilsonettes. Im almost doing this in my sleep ! Daughters wedding gown delivered to Maid of Honour, hair cut, wedding card and my 'personal' card to my bride to be done, 58 heart's all cut ( in prep for making a hanging Guest Book) each guest will sign a heart in the colour of wedding stationary, and I shall arrange them in box frame whilst they are honeymooning, they dont know about it and I have no idea how to go about it without them knowing !!!
I have just sat down (or is that fallen down) for the first time since 2pm, Sue, please can I request a gallon of stamina and energy please as Im wilting ( and hurting right now) !!! Still working through my 'to do' list before we leave for the wedding in the morning. I may start and unwind once we arrive, and have some 'me time' with our daughter at tomorrow's meal. Then try and get her settled early as she is unwell with an infection - poor baby, poorly for her wedding day !
Sue, today's card is amazing, the delicate colour's just suit every detail. I will try and watch the video later as I find them so useful and informative, hope the filming is going well.

Oh Pam, what can I say, Im so sorry you are having such an awful time at the moment, I really hope that one day you can announve your nephew has ALL feeling back. Thinking of you, as I am of everyone that has struggled today. Opening a big box of cuddles for anyone that wants one, I have many to give,so feel free.
I should send this now before my eyes close !!
    Love you.

  137. Hi Sue

What a gorgeous card. I have some Spellbinders roses so will give it a try.

Pam, I am so sorry to hear about your nephew. I will have him in my thoughts but he is probably in the best country in the world for treating accidents of this kind. I really will be thinking of him and sending some positivity his way.

I'm up to reclined now and looking forward to a shower. It's way too hot here the last couple of days for not moving. Mr WheelyBad is going to help after walking the dog- actually he's a Sue fan too now. He couldn't believe how pretty paper could look (especially being with a Wheely messy crafter like me!)

I ordered some different shades of blue ink for triple stamping snowflakes. That first Christmas card may well appear before 1st August!

Crafty hugs to everyone, especially if you hurt somewhere in some way,
