Hello Friend

Hello my crafty friends!  Today's card offering is a super simple one that really does not need loads of explanation, but it is the kind of card someone would like to get in the post from a friend I think.  These are the best sort of cards in my opinion as they don't need to be sent for a reason.  Out of coconut white card, I cut four of the corner from the Italian collection and glued them into place to form a pretty filigree background.  Next I cut out one of the Decorative frames from the California Collection.  I used Adirondack Peach Bellini ink to colour it while still in the die, leaving that pretty white edge.  I stamped my sentiment in black Archival ink and cut it out with the Decorative Frames from the Italian Collection and inked it with an even lighter hand and mounted it in the middle.  I made a single Lattice bow in white and glued it to the side of my sentiment.  I finished the card with a thin peach mat, before adding a pierced white double mat and some flatback pearls in the corners.  The finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size.

This weeks winner of the Wednesday Card Giveaway is:

Denise Hancock!!!

Congratulations!  Pleas email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!
All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
We have rain here this morning in Burgundy but at least it's still warm.
Today's gift I would love to receive for any reason and I'm sure that I'm not the only one.
It's so so gentle and peaceful/calming. Today's colours just fit the bill and again you have given me one for my 'need a quick gift' file.
Today I can craft all day for the first time since I arrived as all chores done so YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend whatever the weather and I'll see you all tomorow.
    Take care

  14. Good Morning Sue and All

I love the background and I thought it was embossed with an embossing folder. For some reason my monitor is showing the card as a mustardy colour but I imagine the card looks even prettier in white. Yes Sue, I agree - the nicest cards are the unexpected sent just to say 'hello'.
Well wishes to Pam - hope she is ok.
    Have a nice day All.

  18. Hi Sue
Thank you a really pretty simple card today which is a good to know when you need something less fussy but still to have impact. I cut my Californian corners the other day for the first time and was impressed with how many things you could do with them - they were for the corners of a box but I had a play first! Have a great day. Love Diane G xxx

    Congratulatons to Denise : )
Pam, I hope all went well with your op yesterday. Sending my daily hugs to you and to Robbie.
Hugs to all in need and to someone I have not been naming, I am so sorry Sue! You always get big hugs. Also to Norah, Sandra, Tina, Gail, Yorkielass, Jean, June, Tandy, Tres and Lynda.
Norah, I am getting just a tiny feeling that you are quiet glad that you got tickets to see Sue and Julia! : ) Only teasing, I think we all heard squeals of joy when you got them. I am so happy for you, but sorry that some of your family won't be glad for you. Rory sounds like a really lovely lad, bless him. He obviously understands you which is wonderful. A Mum and her child share something special. Enjoy your hills too : )
Sandra, Great : ) I will email you over the weekend to arrange a meeting time and place, and yes I do drive. I hope you aren't suffering too much because of the travelling to see your Mum : ) I will get some rest tomorrow but it is the Kingston Bagpuize church fete today and I am wearing my Scouting hat again : ) as Scout leaders my husband, myself and a friend run the BBQ at the fete. The Scout Group also supply some of the tents and marquees ( I am not much help with the tent pitching these days but can help provide a blooming good BBQ service : ) Not sure if we are going to have rain or sun here, it is lovely at the moment but rain is forecast!
Have a good weekend everyone. Take care.

  66. Hi Sue. This is a simple but really beautiful card today !! I really love the combination of dies that you have used, and I am most certainly going to give this card a try. I have used the Italian border dies quite a lot but I have not yet made a card from the corner dies in the set, but I will now !! I am not sure about the colours as my screen is not showing very nice colours, so I will have to imagine what it really looks like !! I may however use other colours instead any way. I think pastel colours would look great, and lovely and summery. I may tweak it a bit and add some faux quilled blooms flowers to as I have fallen in love with those dies at the mo or even the beautiful Roses dies !! I just can't stop putting flowers on everything at the mo !!
I just want to say that yesterday's card is gorgeous Sue !! I came on the blog and looked at it, fell in love with it and for some reason got distracted and forgot to leave a comment, so big apologies Sue. I really don't know how it happened !! (My brain fog is really bad.)
Well a big THANK YOU for everything you do Sue, it is very much appreciated? Wishing you lots of love and hugs today love Tres x x x

Pam, I hope all went well for you yesterday. I hope all is going well for Robbie to. Sending you and your family lots of love and big gentle hugs love Tres x x x

  125. Good afternoon Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
another beautiful card for our delight today and i think if you have no objections Sue, i will make a similar version for my dear friend down in Guildford and just make her day a wee bit special too. It is so beautiful with the corners and centrepiece, not too long in the cdeations stakes but a beautiful result. Thank you Sue for your continuing inspiration that you give us each and everyday, you make my day and everyone else's that comes here. Such a very special lady, thank you.
Oh yesterday was just the best ever, i got my tickts and my heart lattice embossing folder as well. I was definitely the dog with two tails. I am just so excited as our dear Sue is my equivilant of the Queen of craft instead of pop.
Pam, i hope you are feeling better today after your operation yesterday. Your foot/ankle will be sore for a wee while but hoping that you will be better in the long run. Hugs sent to you and young Robbie.
Steph, hope you are taking things a bit easier after the wedding as it would take a fair wee bout of energy.
Margaret, i'm glad you have got your stitches out, but please be careful as you'll still be tender. The corgis will be glad to see mummy coming back to normal and talking to them again.
What a horrible day up here today with all the rain but at least my hills are getting their faces washed. I hope to see you all tomorrow. Working on this silly tablet that doesn't like typing so quick today. Sending hugs to all our fragile friends that need that wee bit,
    love and crafty hugs

  134. Helloooo Sue and the Wilsonettes! Oh wow! Two beauties Sue! Todays card is lovely and a reminder (yet again!) that we can make a gorgeous card from our corners and borders too not necessarily just the dies. It would look gorgeous in many different pastel colours. Ooooo now then, yesterdays card. I really love this Calabria die. It's just gorgeous! Maybe one day... Love the colours and yes it would make the ideal card for Christmas card, special wedding occasion, etc; Love it! Thank you for sharing details on how to do it. I've got a few pieces of acetate that needs to be used and this would be ideal! Thank you so much Sue xx
Just to say congratulations Denise on the Wednesday card giveaway! It looks lovelier in real life hun. Do the whoop whoop dance!
I missed yesterday because we had a bit of baking to do for my husbands 50th birthday party. It isn't until the 7th but his mum and dad have come over from Spain. My husband made four cakes and two chocolate brownie ones while I did the washing up as needed! Everybody complimented on them which was great because four out of six of them were dairy free! A great night had by all! The next party is going to be a barbeque on Thursday. I think everyone should have a bit of a do every year. Time goes by so quickly.....
Anyway, sending love and hugs to you Sue, Yorkielass, Lynda, Tandy, Lynne M, Pam and all your family, Jean and all of our Wilsonette family who are hurting. Thank you Claire about the folder! Congratulaions Norah on the visit to see our Sue! Take care everyone xx Love Karen xx
