Welcome Sweet Spring

Hi bloggers!  Today's card is a bright cheerful one, let's hope the weather matches it  for everyone!  Once again, I am showing the Stitched Flowers from Justrite.  I really liked their whimsical quality.  I stamped each of the flowers on coconut white card and coloured them with Distress markers (Mustard Seed, Peacock Feathers and Spiced Marmalade) and used a white pencil for highlights then cut them out by hand.  The flowers are actually mounted on a piece of white card that has been cut on the diagonal and raised for dimension on to another piece of white card.  I stamped the tag from the set with a black Archival ink pad, added the sentiment and cut it out with the matching tag die.  I mounted it in the upper corner with foam.  I stamped the butterfly from the set and coloured it with coordinating markers and cut it out by hand as well.  Using a fine tipped black marker, I drew a scribbly frame around the top half of the card.  I added some small pearls to the corners and the tag and a thin black mat before finishing with a double white mat with a pierced inner layer.  The finished dimensions are 8" x 9" in size.  Just makes you smile, doesn't it! LOL

The winner of this week's Wednesday Card giveaway is:

  4. GM Sue - great card today - that scribbly frame is really effective. Whilst I do like the round flower used here I'm not so keen on the daffodil stamp for some reason. Big congrats to Patricia. Well the sun is out here this morning - had nearly forgotten what it looks like - and it should be staying for the weekend - so better get gardening before the rain returns next week - Happy sunny weekend all

Well today's card is probably the first time EVER!!! that i can honestly say i don't like it, LOL i know you will be flabbergasted that there is actually a card of yours Sue that i don't like cause you know i love them all, but this is so not my colours, or my idea of lovely stamps, for some reason i have never liked these open (and what i call) 'contemporary' type blooms so this isn't my kinda thing but i will say its ok'ish just because it came from the mind of Sue Wilson, lol, hugs sweetie, you know i luv's ya xxx Hugs and have a lovely Saturday, Vick xxx

Good morning Sue and all the crafty crew!!

Really cheerful card this morning. Just what we need to chase away all the rain and grey clouds. Its like the "how do you like your eggs in the morning" song in New York. Very Jolly!! and Happy!!
Its worked because the sun is out here, and I am not going to the gym. I have just made a lovely pot of tea and am sitting in the garden, being entertained by my lovely black cat Merlin, who is salivating, watching all the little birds and the Magpies having breakfast!!
Sue another great start to the day for many of us, so thank you for sharing.
Hugs to Pam , Steph, Norah, Julie Laz, Lindsey, Tres, Sandra, enjoy your golf Ann.

Today's gift is a big big 'less is more' gift.
I think that sometimes we tend to go a little OTT and spoil a beautiful idea. Today's gift just shows us when to stop and appreciate the beauty of simple things.
Yes it did make me smile and on a very dull last day of May I really needed it.

  71. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
Well i really like todays bright and cheerful looking card. I always think these flowers look cheeky and remind me of the colours in Livingstone daisies which i love their wee faces that come out when the sun is shining. I lovely card to cheer some who is down or poorly up with. I am looking at your wiggly straight lines and thinking that i still couldn't get them as straight as that even when they are suppose to be wiggly. Mines would go off at a southern tangent and forget the road back up again.
Well done Patricia, on winning this weeks beautiful Wednesday card. I hope you have the pride of place cleared for its arrival to be worshiped and gazed upon at regular intervals. PharmacyMichelle, enjoy the GBCF today flower and remember if it goes in the wardrobe or drawers, you've had it for months.
Cameeli, you are sounding really happy this morning, so glad. Enjoy your wee bit time the now and then are you off to the allotment again?
Mrs B, me and lovely have never knowingly been matched in the same sentence and i think it will fail again today, but i will enjoy the time as i will be in one room and hubby will be in another, so any wise cracks that he gives out i will miss. I tried on his hi viz jacket but looked like a flashing traffic cone. Crikey, so glad i tried it on while in the house as i might have been stuck in the middle of the road as a large bollard.
Janet(Ecco), i would swap you limbs flower but i think you would send them back for a refund as you would definitely think you had been given duff ones, but enjoy this afternoon at least.
Mr Laz, i hope that your beloved Julie is getting better day by day. We are all here waiting on her coming back as we miss every member of our fantastic family of Wilsonettes.I think i need you to give my hubby some tips on how to be nice. Please tell her we are all thinking of her and wishing her a speedy recovery back to being able to see again.
Myra P, if the trousers burst upon impact when bending, me thinks the gentleman was wearing too small a size anyway so would need to get a correct size pair that would encompass his nether regions on any manouver required. I wonder when his workmates will let him live it down?
Glad to see Joanna that you might be feeling a bit better that you could go to the workshop, i hope that you enjoyed it flower. Oh how lovely the sky is today. It is beautiful and blue with the odd wispy cloud and the hills showing their yellow gorse and heathers off a treat. Oh how i wish i could still climb them and look down upon the sights from up high. It is honestly like nothing else being up the top of Dumyat looking across to Falkirk, Stirling and down to Dollar. On a good day like today you can see for miles and the views are stunning. Right have bored you long enough with my diversions into my past loves, hope to see you all tomorrow. With hugs and wee prayers going to Tina, Gail and her brother, and our other special Wilsonettes that are in need of gentle hugs and a set of ears to listen, take care,
    Love and crafty hugs

  78. Hi Sue. Morning Wilsonettes. Oh Sue, its beautiful. So fresh and bright, you have bought the sun to Bolton at last ! Those really lucky ladies spending the day here, dress down, its really HOT (at the mo) have a wonderful time, I live just down the road from where the craft show is, id have loved to have gone - hohum, maybe next year. I used your feux flowers on a diagional like this last week, I was hoping to do a similar inlaid flower like you did week before, but I couldnt think how to do it using your faux quilled flower set, Im sure you could make it work Sue, but Im not clever enough to work it out ! A good reason to get the proper die you used to get the desired outcome : )
The flower stamp just pops off the fresh white background. I adore it.

Congrats to Patricia Im so thrilled you have had your wish. Enjoy xx

Training day for 'Madam Cassie' so providing I stay in the sun I should be ok otherwise Im in the car watching and miss out on tips for 'good manners' !!!
Oh well, time to send lkve to you all and thank Sue for the sun. To all that have not woken feeling well, or that are sad and worried I give you my love and friendly comforting hugs.

  97. Hi Sue. This is just beautiful Sue. I know there are some mixed opinions here about the Justrite flower stamps today but I for one really like them. They are modern, contemporary, bright and cheerful !! They are something a little bit different. I love this card Sue. I love the distress pens you have used to colour the flowers with. I keep saying to myself don't buy any as I have a load of pro markers that I have collected over the years, but I do so love my distress inks and the pens would compliment them perfectly !! Decisions, decisions !! I may just buy a couple to see if I like them. I love the look you have created with your squiggly border. Such a great idea !! I love this tag shape from Justrite to. This is the only die on my list at the moment that is not one of your dies Sue !! This is a really lovely, bright, sunshiny, cheerful card today. Like others have said, a fab card to send someone who is unwell.
Have a lovely day today Sue. Lots of love Tres x x x

    Hi to all crafting friends.
I am so sorry Sue but I just don't really care for that stamp set! I can't help it. It's just not me . The card is as you say bright and cheery and I so admire your colouring - you would think flowers had been cut from printed paper. The white pencil is a great tip and has helped my colouring a lot.
Not saying much today - weather is lovely but I woke with a migraine and need to sleep it off if possible!
Love to Pam, Julie , Gail and all those going through tough times. xx
Congratulations to Patricia. Enjoy your lovely card.

  104. Good morning Sue &friends,
Wow a 'pop' 'pop' 'pop' of colour today, nice to have such a variety of cards, just to cater for all tastes, I just wouldn't be brave enough to draw the border, I would be afraid of messing it up! Those distress markers are brilliant, the have such strong colour pigment giving that fab pop of colour!
Theresa (TOB) I can totally sympathise with you as I too am 'housebound' unless someone takes me out and live a very similar life to you, so I am sending you the biggest of hugs as I know how miserable life can get, that's why this blog family is so important, take care xx
Myra I hope your migraine eases off soon and sleep is the answer, hugs x
Mr Laz hugs to you and Julie, I hope she is feeling brighter today.
My dear Cameeli, I will be round in ten minutes, save me some tea! Haha I could think of no better way to spend a Saturday morning!
Norah, I pictured you as a pink cheeked cherub with a shiny golden halo! Have a good time today x
Congratulations Patricia, you are now the owner of a wonderful piece of artwork x
Mrs B you are right and it's very frustrating, there is one in Wantage, but that's it, she doesn't stock very much of the lovely Creative Expressions goodies that Sue uses though .
Hugs to everyone today, huge big ones to those that need it x
    Sandra xx

  108. Unfortunately not one for me this time xx I not a fan of whimsical so that is probably why but I can see the fab techniques and luv the doodle lines - not something that I dare do on cards cos I always feel that I have spoilt them xxGailTxx

  109. Hi Sue
Beautiful, bright and cheerful and it does make you smile, but I'm useless at cutting out and as for doodle lines......so I don't think I'll be trying this one

  110. Morning Sue from a very overcast Shropshire, this card gives me the brightness I need on such a dull day, I love these flowers, it always amazes me as in clothes the plainer the better, am not to much of a heart and romance type person, but as I get older I love to make cards with all the flowers I can get my grubby mits on! So thanks for this one, I'm not sure I would be brave enough to do the squiggle line though but do love the abstract ness of it.
Tob you have a good rant that is what we are all here for to listen and be there for one another, as well as adoring Sue and her cards, and a good rant does wonders sometimes, Mr Laz I hope you are keeping busy and running round after your wonderful wife, and hope she is soon back in the sighted land. Norah you always tell us lovely stories, Cameeli try and have a good rest today, you have been so busy lately rushing around with everything. Myra hope the migraine goes after a good sleep. Steph I'm sure madam Cassie will be very well behaved for her class, Alison, Lynne, Tilly and Culley, Gail, Pam, Tres and every one else have a nice day today, hugs for those going through bad times or are unwell and for those who could just do with one xxxx
