Thanks

Hi everyone! I have to admit to a little bit of an obsession of late.  I just can't stop using this pretty spring green coloured card!  I have already used it for two of the cards I have made while I'm away too.  It is just so fresh looking!  When I started this card, I wasn't too sure where I was going, but I like how it came out.  I cut the Embroidered striplet die out of the spring green card and the largest size of the Seville cutting edge.  I used the Illusion embossing folder on  the Seville label to give it some texture.  I also cut two of the Spanish Corner dies out of coconut white card.  I cut a larger piece of coconut white card and arranged the pieces on it and glued them into place.  For my focal element, I cut the Hollywood die from the California Collection out of coconut white card.  I mounted it on foam in the middle of the card.  I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the Spanish tag die.  I inked it lightly with Bundled Sage before removing it and mounted it on foam in the centre.  Using the Classic Rose die set, I made several flowers with bud centres.  This is easily achieved by simply cutting in from the scalloped edges and then following the Blossoms Five tutorial at the top of the blog.  Once completed, I "sugared" the flowers with Iced Snow and added them around the focal element.  The largest flower was seated atop a messy bow tied from white seam binding.  I made two decorative stick pins to match too.  I finished the card with a double white mat and used Cosmic Shimmer white PVA glue to dot all the way around the edge.  Finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x 9 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

  3. This card is stunning, I agree with you the green looks so fresh and a colour I will consider using. I have a thing against green because in my senior school you had to wear bottle green knickers, the were awful thick things - proper passion killers.
    Take care.

  7. Morning Sue, the card today is fantastic and I too am loving the spring green colour, so I must get some and try it out.

Going to the vets this morning so hopefully Oska will be able to have his lampshade off. The stitches are healing and will be taken out too. He's been so good really and I think he's been more friendly to the kittens, let's hope it continues eh?

he's desperate to go out but I think we'll need to keep him in for a few days longer, if only at night, to stop him scrapping.

Craftihappiness to all, love from Pearl

  20. Good morning Sue and everyone. Normally I avoid anything green (having red hair meant that as a child I was made to wear green clothes all the time so I didn't clash!!) but I love this colour. I wish I had a smidgen of your inspiration - it's a shame you can't bottle it for us. Hope that you do a video showing how to do the bud roses as I'm not very good at following written instructions.
Hope that you are managing to have some rest Sue.

  55. Hi there Sue, good morning (if its still morning when you check in) Morning Wilsonettes from a dark evil skied blustery wet Lancashire. Amazing, clean and fresh. A few weeks ago I bought various contrasting shades of green, stacked it with other shades I got that day and its still there ! Thanks for giving me that 'kick up the toush' I needed to pull them out. Only problem is, I love all the shades of card I bought and dont want to part with them ! Am I selfish crafter ??!! Maybe I should make myself a collage card of my favs then I may be able to part with the rest LOL !
Id so love to be able to have the creativity to see a die and know it will also make beautiful roses too, as for the stick pins - I stand NO chance of being able to make those. Although I loved the idea the other day of CE making a kit, especially for those Wilsonettes that dont know where to start with size of beads etc ( it may tempt me to have the odd 'tut' moment) which would be inevitable, as I know more beads would end up on the floor rather than on the pin !!!
I agree with an earlier comment about bottling your talant Sue, Im so stuck for ideas and so many to do, I feel like hiding and forgetting the market. And dear Mr Lancashire ( I use that term loosly) keeps pointing to the calander, thanks love !!!
Well Im done. Hope you are having a lovely time at home with mom and friends Sue.
Cam we need to hear all about your day, please come home soon we are all getting fidgity now hon.
To all lovely Wilsonettes in need of TLC.im sending gentle caring hugs.

    Love you.

morning Sue from a very blustery day here in Sheffield.
There's nothing wrong with Spring Green. We all need a little Spring/Summer feeling and this is how you give it to us.
Your dies look better and better each time I see them used. I obviously love the colour scheme and the format is one which leads you on.(you see one die first which then leads you on to see another piece).
This is one gift which is going into my 'must do' folder and as I have a thank you card to do I shall be looking at today's gift for your inspiration.
Busy day ahead Friday clean up; Drs visit and then back to cleaning. Have I really had five weeks away? It certainly doesn't feel like it and only been back four days. Ah well.
Take care and see you tomorrow.

  66. Hi Sue,
Gorgeous card and tha green card is absolutely fabulous - very fresh and springlike. I have some in a very similar colour so I'll have to dig it out. I'm pleased your card came out well even though you didn't know where you were going with it! I started to make a card on Sunday for a dear friend's 60 the birthday and sort of knew what I wanted to do! How wrong was I ! 4 hours later I finally made a card that was completely different. I had a nightmare! I had wanted to put gilding flakes behind one of the striplets but couldn't find my double sided adhesive sheets so thought I would just use the gilding flake glue. Big mistake! The gilding flakes just went mushy - didn't let the glue go tacky . So tried again - this time wasn't much better and then to top it all off , I dropped the whole tub of flakes on the floor and the cat. Have you ever tried picking up gilding flakes off a carpet? The poor cat should be black but now she's very sparkly! Anyway, I abandoned that idea and just made a card using the lattice bow with the ribbon strips and Art Deco folder which looks very classy if I say so myself. So Steph you see it's not just you who has trouble with pesky flakes!!!! Anyway must dash have a great day everyone & love & hugs to all. Love Alison xxx

  105. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful colour of green that you have found and so lovely against the white, making for a really pretty spring like combination. Another beautiful composition masterpiece for our gallery go to's. The roses just look so beautiful on the card and i have just about got them off to about right, i won't tell you how many attempts that took but it's coming along fine. My hubby is like a few on the blog, sees you making a card in the blink of an eye and wonders why it should take me so long to make one. Try to explain the process behind it is a waste of breath.
CraftyAnn i know how you feel as we had navy blue knickers and when you have a pair of hips on you like a couple of battle ships and legs like tree trunks, flattering they are not. It always had Joyce Greenville's song playing through my mind on gym days. Why was it they always had you doing cross country running in the rain or snow? And of course the last one back always had to do 5 times round the track and guess who that was? I tell you, if i couldn't run 6 miles cross country and come in early what made them think i could do 5 times around the track. I was always late for either my next class(and got it in the neck there, lunch when you were left with the scrapings that were cold and you wouldn't give your dog them or the bus home and you would need to walk. Oh happy times from the torture chamber called school.
I hope poor wee Oska gets on fine when he goes to get his stitches out and that he is still making friends with the kittens. I don't know who will be more relieved, you(Pearl) or Oska.
Happy birthday Wee Ryan, i hope you have a smashing day and get lots of lovely presents.
Steph, are the antibiotics taking effect yet on your infection? I do hope so flower as like a lot of us here you have a lot of over pain to contend with and that we bit more can sometimes just push you right to the edge. I do hope you are feeling better soon and if lovely Mr Lancs is got nothing better to do, he could give you a hand and do some of the cutting out for you with the mangle. It would give you a boost and be a big help into the bargain.
Alison(Alimecca), it's lovely that your cat wants to get in on the glitz part of crafting. Don't spoil her though, she might just get to used to being all shades of glimmer and shine and sparkle. Although she might just be a bit hard to train on die cutting and sticking on the card not her. which of us after using glitter or some sort of shine doesn't go around for days with some still on our faces, hair, arms etc. I am normally a dead giveaway in what i've been upto for days after the event although i have never tried to have Tia( a big soft daft chocolate Lab that doesn't know how to bark) helping me with it. She thinks she is doing good in getting her hair into my knitting. I keep telling her, i don't need the extra warmth knitted into the item. Trying to keep her back from the baby pink shawl i am knitting the now for my daughters friend. I knit 1 or 2 ply shawls and can i find any baby wool pink at this thickness? No. I am on 3ply which is beautiful, but looks like double knitting compared to the finer yarn i'm used too.
Oh well, lovely day for the washing to go out, so i will see you all tomorrow hopefully and go and get the washing and crafting lot sorted. Take care my dear friends and sending gentle hugs to our precious friends who are having a hard time. I hope that you have a good day where you are and who else thinks that Cameeli has went away on the honeymoon?
Love and crafty hugs from my beautiful hills that are greeting me this morning,
    Norah (Glenochil)
