Thanks

Hello my crafty friends!  Another week just flying by and it's Friday already!  I hope today's card will give you a little crafty inspiration for the weekend!  I started by embossing my white card using the Art Deco Fanfare embossing folder.  I wrapped a piece of Green and white striped grosgrain ribbon around the bottom of the card and taped the ends to the back.  I tied a double bow and added it to the middle of my ribbon with a couple of glue dots.  I topped the middle of it with a white crystal sparkler.  For the focal element, I used the San Francisco die set from my California Collection and used the cutting edge from the Basic Set A set to give a slightly larger emboss area which I inked while still in the die.  I used Mowed Lawn distress ink for that. I cut two of the tags from the California Collection and crisscrossed them with some mounting foam and added them to the middle of the previous die.  I stamped my sentiment in black and cut it out with the Decorative  Set B die and inked it very lightly with Mowed Lawn before removing it from the die.  I added it to my focal element with some mounting foam.  I made two pretty stick pins to match and added them to my bow.  I finished the card with a few pearls in the corners and a double white pierced mat layer.  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 8" in size.  All for now, Sue x

WOW What a beautiful card. The Art Deco folder and California Collection are both in my possession so this is a must try this weekend - with just a slight change to the colour - I might try pink!
It's my 33rd wedding anniversary today and we don't usually exchange cards but I made a card using the California border and tag with a filigree bow and gilded butterfly - so I can keep it!!! LOL (Not throwing it away either).
    Hooray a long weekend again!!
    Enjoy your day.

  35. GM Sue - love this - I ordered some californian collection (my fave set) dies that came yday - including those used in this card - I was surprised how big the Set B dies were - lovely though - you have to see them in real life to appreciate them I think. The border die was so long it didn't fit in my box - I keep my dies on mag sheets in A5 boxes labelled into types - one box is for Sue Wilson dies - so I have had to keep the border elsewhere with a note on the mag sheet in the box with the corner and tag on, as to where it is so I dont forget!

Love the green freshness of this - and that EF is a fave already!

    Happy Friday all

Fur babies fast asleep on their backs in the lounge after waking up at 4:55am this morning. I would love to have some of their energy. Yesterday was spent chasing each other around the garden in a game of "tag your it" . The best bits were when they would have their front halves on the floor with bums in the air growling at each other as if to say "its your turn to chase me , come on ". No doubt another nutty day in prospect with them.

Gentle hugs and love to - Lynda, Yorkielass, Lindsay, Norah, Magpie and Alimecca.

  93. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a fresh spring coloured card you have made for us today Sue. The fresh green colour adds that pop of zing to a beautiful card. I must agree about the bow though, how i would love to be able to tie a beautiful bow such as this and with the addition of the pin it makes a gift instead of just a beautiful card.
Cameeli flower, i hope you are having a lovely time with your mum and dad, and tomorrow you enjoy all the compliments that are sure to come your way with everything that you have done to make your boys' day carry off lovely and you will have a new daughter by the end of the day. Enjoy yourself our beautiful MOB and tell us all about it when you catch your breath back.
Happy Anniversary Sheila, i hope your hubby likes his card and takes you out for a lovely meal, although i think it should be a medal you get.
Enjoy your birthday money Mrs. B and all i can advise is the Dies A and B set from the California collection, the bows and roses from the finishing touches, Seville with either Cordoba or Granada from the Spanish Collection would be the starting point as they give you the biggest variety of possibilities. Combining the different ones from the sets give you endless combinations, but enjoy it most of all as it is exciting finally being able to get that longed for die, and then you can't wait for it to come. I think i am going to swap my hubby for someone elses as he never gets me a birthday present at all, so i'm so envious(ignore me) of all my lovely blog friends whose hubby actually understands and supports their hobbies and contributes to them, you are so very lucky.
Well although we are cold today in Central, we do have the sun escaping now and then trying to break free and is making for a great day for everyone. I hope that where ever you are, you're having a lovely day. Take care my dear friends, with gentle hugs to our more fragile of blog friends,

  111. Hi Sue. Hope you are happy, well, and relaxed. Morning dear Wilsonettes. Im certain that tomorrow will be emotional for you Cam. All the hour's cutting butterflies, embossing and dreaming about them will pay off tomorrow and like Tina, guests will be talking about the day for a long time to come. So although today maybe just a bit hectic - (maybe an understatement) Im wishing for you all a special day full of special memories, and weather report looks promising : )
As one Wilsonette celebrates a new start, our Wilsonette recalls her day 33yrs ago. Happy Anniversary Sheila. Hope you love your card lol.

This card today is a great big spring green and white picture of W.O.W.ness (wonder of Wilson)ness. Its magnificent. If.I could get on the floor and throw a craft tantrum I would - I want the folder, I want the dies, I want the ribbon, the sparkler, the ink pad, I want or I'll scream and scream until Im sick !!! Woah, now Im showing my age lol !
This is such a stand out card. A card that would stop a conversation in its tracks, imagin this W.O.W standing next to a pile of cards from the best card shop, and it would still stand tall above all other's. There is NO mistaking that this is a Sue Wilson work of sensational art - ooooh, that bow Sue, breath taking.

Sending warm gentle hugs to those that feel down or unwell today.

    Love you.

  121. Hi Sue,
A lovely spring fresh colour combo today and that little touch of ink on the die cut makes all the difference. I don't use enough green in my cards,(unless its the leaves for a floral design), must try harder!
Great photos of your Mom's happy birthday celebrations, wishing you both many more of the same.
P.s. Love the die set and the embossing folder, more goodies to put on my wish list, sigh.
