Friends Forever

Morning all!  I love the sheer simplicity of this one, although I had to fight myself not to add some flowers to it! LOL  I stamped black card with the Beaded Elements swirl using a clear Perfect Medium pad and heat embossed with black embossing  powder for a tone on tone look.  Background sorted!  On a piece of coconut white card, I stamped the Birdsong Meadow using a Black Archival ink pad.  I used the outer die from the lovely Cordoba die set and cut it out.   I cut a small circle out of copy paper and placed it in the upper corner.  Using Mustard Seed distress ink on a piece of cut 'n dry foam, I inked around the circle by lightly pouncing around it rather than the usual circular motion.  This is because it is very easy to get underneath the edge of the copy paper otherwise.  As I moved outwards from the starting point, I added Spiced Marmalade then Barn Door Distress inks and blended the colours into each other.  I removed the circle which created a white void and stamped my sentiment in black across it.  I mounted it up on foam for dimension an added my pierced mats to complete this simple card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
Today's gift is definitely a piece of Art. It may be simple to cut stamp and assemble but the colouring is the difficult bit for me.
Although I'm not a fan of a lot of black today's gift uses the background as it's frame.
I love the bird song pasture stamp.
Hope everyone had a good week-end and has started the new week off well. Take care and see you tomorrow.

This is a gorgeous card. I love how the wild flowers and seed heads stand out agains the skyline. I had a similar die for years and until I had learnt how to produce this background effect i never used it as it never looked anything but I just love doing cars like this as they never fail to bring a sigh of joy!

Good morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, Im more than certain your wonderful mom had a perfect birthday yesterday, and so many greetings to read, how lovely.
Friends forever, says it all really, and this is our sentiment for you Sue.
Oooooo I must think about buying this stamp, but will have to wait until the expense of the wedding is over ! I will have to trawl through my supply of stamps to see if I can improvise. I also love the frame and at last I can say I have that die : ) woohoo that doesn't happen all that often.
2 orders from yesterdays market to start today. And for all those lovely friends that gave me help and advice re the cow/sheep wedding card - well the customer that ordered it was really happy and apparently forfilled her expectations over and beyond ( wasnt sure how to take that ) LOL what was she trying to say lol that she didnt expect much or what ?! It made my day though, as I was quite nervous as whether she would like it (wipes brow)
Pam - I too admire your strength.
    Tina - In my thoughts.

Friendly hugs to all that are in need today. Relax Cam : )

  90. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
What a beautiful card that could be for anyone but what a brilliant one for the hard to make for members of our lives. The sunset colour scheme is so beautiful and so real looking. One of these days i might try doing this technique when i can be light of touch and not keep getting hard lines that won't blend out into each other. Please tell me that i am not the only hopeless blender of ink pads.

Fantastic Cameeli, so Cinderella shall go to the ball after all and not have to where her comfy trainers instead. I hope that now you are on the home stretch to finally adding a new daughter to you can relax and go with the flow until flower pick up day.

Lancashire Steph, so really happy that the lady loved your handmade piece of art for her. I am not surprised she loved it as you can not beat the personal touch and please, i hope that dispels any thoughts that keep niggling away at your confidence. Remember Steph, you are a Wilsonette, taught by the mistress of craft herself, so can't fail to produce top drawer mini masterpieces.

Wow Sue, it's fantastic that you had so many wonderful comments last week. I look now each day to see ever more comments being left by the time i am able to get on and i just think 'how really happy' i am for you, that your talents are being appreciated by a much wider audience each day, FAN DABBY DOZY. It normally runs altogether in the one word, but since it was a wee scots lady who acts like a wee mischievous boy that comes away with it, you might have a problem in pronouncing it, but it means brilliant around the rest of the world. So happy that more people are giving you a wee boost in the day to let you know about your latest masterpiece that you entice us with.

Well, it's a beautiful day up here at Glenochil looking over the valley to Alva and my beautiful Ochil Hills. I don't know when i like them most, when it is sunny or when they have just had their faces washed in the rain and they are lovely and bright that you can see all their crags and beauty that they hold to themselves. Anyway, i will leave you all now i have given the weather report for the Wee County, in Central Scotland and wish you all a lovely day. Take care all the Wilsonettes that are not on top (a bit like me) i send gentle hugs to all our special friends that need them so much. Just because the worse time has past, it doesn't mean we have stopped thinking of you, remember this.
    Love and crafty hugs

Great instructions for making it, and I bought this stamp from you so I could make this very card !! Just one problem though I do not have Mustard seed distress ink !! I do have wild honey and squeezed lemonade inks and I will try those instead !! I have everything else, so I will let you know how I get on. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful card today. I love the edge created by the gorgeous Cordoba die too.

  137. Hi Sue and fellow crafty Wilsonettes!
What a striking card today ! I know it's simple - but that's kind of in theory! Not quite so simple when I try! I thought of an African sky too with mabe an elephant or giraffe in the foreground! Can you see what you do to us? It is a lovely stamp but looks so finished , for want of a better word, in that gorgeous frame! I am waiting for mine to arrive.
Had fun yesterday making a shirt card using your bow and the matching ribbon dies as a ruff down the front. (2 strips) then used pearls for buttons. Hardest bit was getting the neck right but got there eventually cutting and folding! Great simple man's card! Thanks Sue!
Cameeli pleased you got your shoes and the butterflies sound gorgeous. Relax a little now.
Pam still thinking of you every day as some will be good and some very bad. X
Steph pleased all went well yesterday. Hope Cassie's training did too. x
Sending love to all crafting friends from a dull but dry and rather warm Lancashire.
Got children's craft again today after school - their holiday and mine is over!
Hay fever has started but mustn't complain as it is only for a few months - others have real pain all year round.
Trust yesterday went well Sue, and thanks!

I have made something similar before but it wasn't anywhere near as good as yours - no surprise there, then lol - but the recipient loved it and to me that is what it is all about.

Hope you are enjoying yourself across the sea. lol lynne m x x x x

Lynda, Yorkielass, Magpie - thank you for your well wishes, had an IBS attack and the only thing that helps is to curl up in bed and go to sleep. Better now and don't I know it with poochies on top form.

Tipping down with rain here and I knew the little b's needed to go down the garden so I thought get them down there quick before they get too wet. Oh I will never learn, I go out onto the path with a brolly up and call them, do they come out like heck they do, while mum is trying not to laugh hysterically ( worried neighbours might call the men in white coats) sheltering under umbrella poochies are nice and dry sitting at the back door looking at me as if to say " what are you doing out there in the rain mum". I'm going to change now as clothes are wet through. lol and hugs to all "Wilsonettes".

Not one that I will be making in the near future; not because i don't like it but because my Italian set of dies arrived this morning and so i will be playing with them for quite some time. Wish that i'd bought the Californian ones as well. i must say that the dies are even better and bigger than they looked on C&C. Thank you Sue for bringing us such wonderful dies and stamps to 'play' with. They really are, something else. Hugs. Pauline A x
