Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hi crafters!  I know that this isn't the usual type of card that I offer on the giveaway, but I thought I would mix it up a little bit just to see if there was any interest in a clean and simple styled card.  Leave me a comment today if you would like to be in the drawing for this card.  Today's card showcases the Discover Your Wings stamp set from Taylored Expressions.  I have to admit, it was a bit of an experiment here as I just wanted to see what sort of look could be achieved with these stamps.  I stamped them first with just clear Perfect Medium to get a watermark look.  Next I stamped the same stamps across the bottom of the card using a black Archival ink pad.  I cut a mask with a circle die and sponged some white snow cap ink through it to create a moon in the background.  I dried it well with a heat tool.  I removed the mask and used the side edge of the perfect medium pad and swiped it across the sky area a few times.  I used some blue mica powder and dusted the swiped area, then used a tissue to remove any leftover mica powder.  I stamped the sentiment in the upper corner of the card.  Using a white gel pen, I added a reflective edge to the moon.  I cut the entire piece with the Grand Large Label die and did some matting and layering with black and white card before finishing with a double white pierced mat layer.  Perfectly flat for easy posting!  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.  Winner to be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

What a beautiful card and anybody would love to receive it. I love how you've done the moon it looks so effective (another must try technique for us). I love the simplicity of today's card it looks so atmospheric. The sentiment is perfect and the watermark is lovely. As you know colouring stamped images is not my forte but I spent hours last night trying to master it and I am so pleased with my final result. I am practising colouring Easter bunnies for my grandson's Easter card and after loads thrown in the bin I DID IT 😄 I certainly did the happy dance lol.
    I hope everyone is ok

  60. Good morning Sue and fellow Wilsonettes,
They say less is more and with this card it is certainly true as it is beautiful and so simple. The colour is just right for the card that you have made showing the shadows up perfectly.
Nearly a mascot yesterday after crossing the road and a bus coming through a red light. Of course with the lousy legs equally determined they were going at their pace and not speeding up for anyone, not even a bus, it got round me with cms not even inches to spare. I'll tell you the wee ticker was going into overdrive, so giving them the day off today.
Have a good day everyone and hopefully i'll see you tomorrow.

  61. Hi all Wonderful Wilsonettes. Have an appointment so cant stay this time, but what I WILL say is that this sentiment is exactly how we feel about Sue, without her love of craft, and her inspiration plus her dedication to this blog AND US, we could have fallen flat on our crafty faces. Can we all spread the word to our crafty friends and craft groups that Sue has this fantastic blog. You may think 'who am I to preach' but someone very close to our hearts needs US right now ( I always keep a promise) we have been given SO much pleasure, we have jad many opportunities to receive, so can we ALL please give back by promoting Sue's exceptional blog, and her dedication to us.
I know we can build up followers again for we are the WILSON WILSONETTES.

I love the colours and the fab sentiment. A truly great card using great stamps and clever techniques. I would love to have the chance to win this card.
I watched your video yesterday. I never had any problems with it. The video was fab !! Your card was amazing !! I really, really loved it !! I am really sorry but for some reason I did not comment yesterday and I don't know why. I honestly cannot remember why because I watched the video then read some comments from others and must have just left !! I am sorry Sue. In my defence my illness makes me very forgetful. It has made my memory become steadily worse over the last few years. But I really did love your card and I was so pleased you used the Radient rectangles die set. ( one of my favourite sets.) I am going to buy the stamp you designed to match this die set. It is a must have stamp for me !!
I love today's card to but this new stamp set will have to wait !! At least your stamps are affordable !!
Lots of love to you Sue.

    Hello everyone,
This is certainly not your usual style - as you say, however,it is so lovely! It is like a painting! I love the moon and shadow work and I just think it has an almost ethereal look!
This follower would love to give it a home! I would frame it as has been said already.
Oh Norah, how awful, take it easy today!
Love to all, especially those not feeling on top of their
    game.

  176. Hi Sue and all Wilsonettes. Norah I hope you've rested up today after your awful shock yesterday !
Well.Sue your experiment has gone down a treat with us all. Its a beautiful work of art, such a soothing picture to look at and I agree to a lot of ladies here, that it would freshen up any room if hung. It has that beauty of an eariy sky, but the serenity of a late spring afternoon. I love the effect just a few colours and card have made, it just goes to show you can put your hand to anything, something we all admire about you. I think Im starting to experiment more now thanks to your blog and your tutorials (although I cant believe I asked the most stupid question ever regarding your CIC technique) !!!
The design of the stamp is beautiful, and you know how to bring them all to life, sheer genius.
    Good luck lovely Wilsonettes.
Hope you have all had a good day.
    Hugs.

p.s. Does anyone else think the new Andrex loo paper with butterflies and flower stems would make such a pretty stamp/embossing folder ? : )
