Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello bloggers!  I have found this little gem for the card giveaway today.  I thought it was clean and pretty and one of you might like it as an addition to your abode.  Leave a comment today to be included in the giveaway drawing.  Winner to be announced on Saturday's post.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and stamped the Filigree Leaves background stamp on it using the Flake and Glitter glue.  I stamped it twice across the background then set it aside until the glue turned clear (I cleaned my stamp well in the meantime).  I covered the background with Diamond Sprinkles for a blingey tone on tone look.  Next up, I cut a Lattice frame out of white card and added foam mount to the back in strategic places to raise it for dimension.  I stamped the Vintage Birthday stamp on white card and white heat embossed it.  I cut it out with the matching Vintage Labels Four die and inked it with Peacock Feather distress ink while still in the die.  I stamped the sentiment the same way and inked it as well.  I layered it atop the larger piece to make my focal element.  I decided to add a small floral element to the card, so I went back to the Filigree Leaves background, inked it up with Flake and Glitter glue once again, but this time I stamped it on Aqua card.  I covered it with the Sea Green Polished silk glitter when the glue turned clear.  I used the Posey Flower die set from Heartfelt Creations to cut out the pieces to the flower from the background.  It gives a lovely random swirly pattern to the flower this way.  I assembled the flower and added a pearl to the centre and seated it on a messy bow tied from white seam binding.  I added a small bow of pastel Bakers Twine as a contrast.  I finished the card with a double white pierced mat and some flatback pearls in the corners.  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.  It needs a good home, so let me know if you would like a chance to be the parents! All for now, Sue x

  53. Good morning Sue,
What a lovely card where you can see each element shining on its on merits. The differing parts are not trying to compete with each other to be seen, so a beautiful card has emerged. I like how you have the dark fading to light and back again. The white on white in the bottom layer embossed and the tone on tone in the flower looks just so nice, adding just the perfect touch.
Thank you for your inspirational talent yet again, as we are so lucky that you take the time each and every day. Crikey just thinking, if you had an open tutorial class that all of us came too, you would need the Royal Albert Hall or the Ally Pally to fit us all in and with big screens for everyone to see.
    Love and crafty hugs

  109. Well well well look who's here Sue, its your adoring Wilsonettes and many more just waiting to storm in out of the cold into a warm snuggly place full of begging women ! One polishing franctically, one admitting to approaching bus pass age ! HA. (its mine too in 15 days) well below bus pass age ! One booking a ferry to get the said card to Ireland, ladies ladies ladies, just form an orderly queue please and NO fighting it's not Wilsonettelike at all ! Im just going to write a little note, wishing for the card and put it under my pillow - just like I did when I was 5 (20 years ago) when I had a Cinderella book and wished for her beautiful wedding gown on the very last page (didn't bleep bleep work then) but I can try : )

Mmmm a little later than Id have liked today, my hands wouldn't work until an hour ago (maybe more now, as you know how I have waffle syndrome) so once Id had my meds shoved into my mouth (yeah, thanks Mr Lancashire, Id appreciate my 2 top teeth back) he's not at ALL rough you appreciate - and had strawberry milkshake dribbled down my chin (who cant feed someone else a small amount of drink without making a mess)? Mr Lanc, that's WHO ! Anyway Im struggling, but use to that now, so here I am - going on n on n on as usual !
The delight that met me when I got here was overwhelming, how beautiful and what a start to the day, a bright, cheerful happy card that gives you a warm, snuggly, feeling all through.

Just one confession though - I got Mr Lanc to enter my comment to our Wattsonette blog as I felt id been cruel yesterday and wanted to put it right as early as I could (jeez, it took longer for Mr Lanc to tap my dictation than it does for ME to waffle on here) !! Bless.

So, if you all behave, be good, stop that polishing and cancel the ferry ticket, and just put a 'wish letter' under your pillow, who knows, you may have some luck (but make sure the ink is dry or it will make a right mess on ya pillowcase !

Sending Wednesday waves and smiles to all.

  135. Hi Sue
What a fantastic card waiting when I logged on today, after a morning Christmas shopping when I sat down with a coffee, what could be better! Absolutely beautiful the colours are so crisp and clean looking, the card just says class. I have been thinking about getting the lattice style die, well thanks to you decision is now made, I have the other dies already thank goodness says the credit card!

  143. Hi Sue, a little gem of a card I agree, the peacock blue ink is so fresh but for me the little gem that sets it all off is your use of the bakers twine in the same colour, makes all the difference, love from Jackie D

  163. Norah I love the idea of a massive open tutorial, how great would that be : ) Id take some red extra strong adhesive tape for my mouth of course but I think Florida would be a good place to do it, nice and warm. Ive been thinking about today's card and as difficult as it would be, maybe Sue should put it through her paper trimmer and we could ALL get a piece : )

That's me done for today. Look forward to seeing what Sue has waiting for us in the morning. Sleep well lovely ladies. Nite nite.

  165. Hi Sue - late from me today as we have just done a 460 mile pre-Christmas round trip to see my wonderful 101-year-old aunt whose humour, despite the awfulness of very old age, is a total inspiration. She is much loved.
Roads were being gritted on way back so something verrrry verrrry cold is coming!!
Very pretty, gentle card today - love the peacock colour and the lattice frame is a new one to me so, who knows? Something else on the wish list.

  168. Hi Sue,
Beautiful card, love the glitter on the flower.
Today's beautiful card would look perfect framed and hung in my dining room, I am 3/4 of the way decorating it just need to paper the feature wall in a jade(ish) iris then clean up all the paint splatter that missed the newspaper on the floor.
