Oops A Daisy

Hello bloggers!  I have had a few requests to show this one on the blog so here it is.  I have to admit that I am rather fond of this one myself, but I just love black and white cards.  I stamped the open daisy from the Taylored Expressions Oops A Daisy set on coconut white card with a black archival ink pad.  Next I covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I peeled the backing paper away and then covered it with Iced Snow for a blingy effect.  You can see it nicely in the close ups below.  Next I cut a Grand Square frame and I used one of the in between sizes to emboss a bit of detail into the frame.I added mounting foam to the back of the frame.   I cut four of the Filigree corner die from Becca Feeken and attached them to the underside of the square frame.  I attached the frame over my blingy stamped background and trimmed off any excess around the edge.  Next I stamped my sentiment from the set and cut the ends into a fork and matted it with a thin black mat.  I glued it into place across my frame.  I stamped two of the daisies using a clear perfect medium pad and heat embossed them with white detail powder.  I cut them out with the matching die set and adhered them to the edge of the frame, slightly overlapping my sentiment tag and each other.  I added some small 3mm flatback pearls to the centres and some Diamond Sprinkles.  I made a double white pierced mat for the card to frame and finish it nicely.  Finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

morning Sue from a very very wet and windy Sheffield.
Thank you for today's gift - I too love black/white - it is such a classic combination and doesn't offend anyone.
At the moment today's basic format seems to be my favourite as I have used it for quite a few bday cards and have just finished cutting and making up six kits using this format for my next two weekly crafty afternoon with my 'crafty friends' next Tuesday. The first in 2014 - where has the year gone.
Hope all loved ones who are poorly are on the mend.

  50. Good morning Sue all fellow Wilsonettes,
I like the positive/negative colour ways in today's card Sue. The little pearl accents you have used for the centers just finish the daisies off beautifully. I like the white against the black as it looks more delicate i suppose to me. And the new stamps and dies you brought to C&C are lovely but will need to wait until i have pennies again, which will not be this side of E****r i fear. And the CHA launch of the new Spellbinders will be coming, so i think i will need to block the channel so i wont be tempted.
Oh what a horrible day out there today. I think today is a day for playing and experimenting.
    Hope to see everyone tomorrow,

  68. Morning Mrs W. Morning Wilsonettes. Goodness me, what a dreadful day up North in ayup country ! Cant see the Peakes thanks to this miserable day - but hayho, hibernation = more craft, so I should stop moaning really. I remember watching you demo this card Sue, I salavated then and Im salavating all over again, making such a mess on my phone ! The colour of the card almost looks a creamy white not a true stark white, is it my phone screen as not on laptop, never the less, its so beautiful and uplifting, and not only do I now love using adhesive paper and pretty ultra fine almost clear glitters, and micro beads, Ive started to 'fork' my sentiments, I have to type and print most of my sentiments and matt them, but doing it that way I find I can cater for many more members of a family such as step parents, Nephews, Great Grandparents etc, but I need to find an easier way to cut the forks even so they match perfectly, otherwise they dont get used ! Ive had 2 orders now for Great Nephew so thank goodness I can type these out as I can do just what people ask for (plus I take them with me to markets/fairs) so people can have what they want (maybe Sue you can put this to the people you work with ) and ask for a 'complete' sheet of family relative ornate stamps to cover all family members ! Believe me when I say its hard to stop when you start ! Just think of all the combinations and there is loads !!! Im so really happy I have found your blog Sue as it really opens our eyes and minds (and bank accounts) should we get lost in the maze, we can sit and take time to browse through your past cards to help kick start us again, and even if we dont have the tools, you have given us idea's we sometimes lack. If ONLY you could open my mind to the sports cards that Ive just been asked for, not forgetting one for 'geeky scientist !!!! Ohhh dearrr and.4 of them ALL different !! No bows, no sparkles, what do I do ??!! Yes I have a sheet of sport themed stamps, but how on EARTH can I make them look 'classie for 60 & 40th birthdays ? Maybe the secret will have to hide in the background -.what do you think ? I SO need help here : /
Time to finish one order I did yesterday, sent them a photo of it so they could approve or 'tweek' (like to please as they are buying) they liked, so time to get sticking - thank goodness for our 'wonder glue' from Wonder Sue' : )

Love to all my beautiful Wilsonettes.

  92. Hi Sue,
Hi all fellow crafters! What a day! The rain is blowing sideways- if that makes any sense! Good day for crafting.
Unfortunately few other things need attention first.

I loved this card when I saw the Demo on C&C , Sue. It looks even better today! Thanks so much for the close-up photos as they really bring it to life and are such a help.

Steph, this may or may not be helpful but for your " forks" - I find it helpful to cut a plain piece of copy paper same size as piece to be forked! Then I snip one corner through both pieces (card and paper) - then carefully turn paper piece over cut card now you have a cut line to copy which makes your fork symmetrical!!
I'm no Sue Wilson but it might help!

    Love to all, Myra

If I can pull THESE off to customers spec, then Im putting MYSELF up for an O.B.E !! In fact I dont know WHY our Leader hasn't been decorated for what Sue has done for the crafting world ! Compared to some of the idiots that have for the most stupid of 'things' acheived, then someone that has done something REAL and outstanding for communities etc should be recognised for that fact. 119. Hi Sue

Another stunning card today. I loved the Taylored stamps when they were shown on C & C. Black & White are my second favourite colours. I to have had a flu'y cold over Christmas, and I'm still feeling under the weather. Sue your cards lift all our spirits. Glad you dad is now out of hospital Tracy.
