My Dear Friend

Good Sunday morning all!  A very autumnal card for today's offering.  I really enjoyed using The Floral Harvest Justrite  background stamp as I found it to be very versatile in the different looks that could be achieved with it.  I stamped it on milk card using a coffee Archival ink pad.  I coloured it with Distress markers, mustard seed, forest moss, fired brick, spiced marmalade, wild honey and shabby shutters.  Using my scissors, I cut the inside of the braided area on the frame and added mounting foam to the remaining frame area on the back.  I re-stamped the background stamp, again on milk card and added the sentiment (Justrite stamps)  to the inside and the banner below using a coffee Archival.  I distressed around the sentiment with Antique Linen before lining up and adding the coloured frame image directly over top.  I stamped the background a third time, but this time, I coloured the leaves and cut them out by hand.  I mounted them with foam and placed them on the frame background.  I used Cosmic Lacquer on them to give them a nice gloss shine.  I used some Ginger, Milk and Brown Chestnut card to mat the finished frame for added interest, then finally finished with a double milk coloured mat with a paper pierced inner layer.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8" in size.

It is time once again to announce the weekly winners for the Comment Game.  However, first, I would like to own up to a bit of a slip on my part!  I took a few days off during the week for a short trip and in my haste to pack and get everything scheduled, I completely forgot to do my Weekly Wednesday Card Giveaway!  Surprisingly, I was not inundated with emails about my slip up, but I do feel guilty so I have decided to make amends.  I will add a second set of winners today AND do two card giveaways on Wednesday for you!  How's that? (I hope I don't forget again! LOL)

The first set of winners is:
CraftyAnn!!!
Clare W.!!!
Sue Crease!!!

The bonus winners are:
"P" in Wales!!!
Pearl!!!
Kitty Davies!!!

Congratulations all!  Please email me at americansue1@gmail.com to confirm your address and claim your prize!  Don't forget to keep me honest on Wednesday with the double card giveaway!!  All for now, Sue x

  9. Hi Sue, lovely card today, the colours and textures are brilliant I don't know how you manage to think of so many combinations.

I did try a card from an earlier blog of yours but it didn't quite work out to look like yours - I'll send you a picture. I was pleased with the result though and so was the recipient.

  14. Morning Sue. Morning crafters. 7am in Lancashire, its cold and promising to stay that way, but who cares when we all have our crafty stash to play with. This card screams Autumn, with all the colours of the leaves. Although its the start of colder days ahead this card shows how warm crafting can be just by using colouring mediums. Its a beautiful card Sue, how do you not get 'crafters block' ? If only half my brain had some artistic cells Id be ok ! And if I had even half of the stamps, dies, and inks needed to make some of the cards I've salavated over on your blog Sue, then I'd be a happier crafter : )
Cant wait to see tomorrows card. Happy Sunday Sue and all who enter here after me.
    Warm Sunday crafty hugs.
