Get Well

Hi bloggers!  Although the sentiment on this card says "Get well" it could have easily been just about anything as it is just a pretty and adaptable design.  I'm given sets of stamps and dies to work with but hopefully you can take what you like and use it for your own card needs.  I started with a piece of Periwinkle blue card and cut the Samantha Walker Delicate Doily insert die shape out of the centre.  It was very gratuitous that the Becca Feeken Lacey Tier die frame die fit perfectly around the doily shape so I cut it in black and glued it in place.  I added a couple of score lines around it as I wanted a bit more blue to show.  I cut a frame out of coconut white card using the Grand Square dies.  To add some detail to the frame, I used the Basketweave embossing folder.  I wanted to have the unembossed edge detail on my frame so I placed the die cut frame still in the dies on the positive side of my folder.  I covered it with my tan mat and added a few pieces of card as a shim, then my raspberry adaptor plate.  I placed it on my grey base plate and ran it through (the folder is never closed for this technique).  Once embossed, I added mounting foam for dimension and attached it over my doily cut out.  I wanted some contrast so I mounted a piece of white card so it would show through from the doily.  I added a rose made from the technique in the tutorial at the top of the blog, with a pretty swirl accent cut from the Jewelled Flower and Flourish set.  I covered the rose with Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue, then "sugared" it with Diamond Sprinkles.  I seated my flower and swirly flourish atop some black tulle and tucked a folded flag under with my sentiment stamped on it.  I finished the card with my signature piercing around the edges of my double white mat and added a single black pearl to the centre of the doily.  Wouldn't this be lovely with a "just thinking of you" sentiment as well!  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x
