For today's card, I've chosen another one of the cards that I demoed while in Scotland in July. This one is a fun buckle card style done in soft gold and milk coloured card. I started by stamping a swirl from the Beaded Elements set all over the background. I used a clear Perfect Medium for stamping and heat embossed it with gold powder for a tone on tone look. After heat embossing, I embossed it using the Whimsical Floral Embossibility folder to add extra texture to the background. For the focal element, I cut out the Opulent Ovals to create five frames, one large, two medium, one small and one tiny. I also stamped my sentiment and cut it out with the smallest die in the set. Using gold tulle, I wove it through the frames and secured the ends to the back of the card. I added the smallest frame vertically across the centre and set my sentiment horizontally across it. I added a bow tied from the tulle to the side and finished it with a fancy gold button and stick pins. I finished the card with some flatback pearls to the corners and strategic spots on the die cuts and a double mat of milk card with an inner pierced layer. Finished dimensions are 7" x 9" in size. All for now, Sue x

I love the embossing on this card.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Sue,
ReplyDeleteThe opulant ovals are a beautiful die set and make the most beautiful of frames as shown in your lovely card today. As i am in a golden wedding mode i think this would make a cracker of a Golden wedding card that would most certainly be different from any other received. I like your fancy button that you have put on top of the tulle bow. I found one very similar in a button box that i got given from a friend, who had got it from her Aunt who was a Nun. (Love buttons...not enough toys when little to play with me thinks)
Well done Yvonne, enjoy.
Love and crafty hugs
Norah

Hi Sue, Sorry but it doesn't do it for me. Think its the colour, but sometimes photo's don't do things justice.

ReplyDeleteHi Sue. A really lovely card today. It is very elegant looking. I am not that keen on the opulent oval dies. I love everything else though. Soft gold card is one of my favourites, as is the silky crush ribbon and that button is fab. I think you said some of the buttons would be available soon. If it is this one of them then I can't wait to get my hands on some !! I am counting down the days now until you are back on c+c. I just can't wait !! It has been far to long. Lots of love Tres x x x
