Hello all! Back to one of my personal favourite die sets today, the Elegant Labels Four. Don't worry, I hid it from myself so I can't use it as much from now on! I used milk coloured card with a soft lavender and I love the overall romantic feel this gives. I embossed the background with my Basketweave embossing folder and matted it on a piece of lavender card. Using the mauve coloured seam binding (their name), I wrapped it around the opposite corners and secured the ends to the back of the card. I cut two of the Elegant Labels Four dies in milk card. One of them, I stamped the centre with the Vine Scroll stamp for a soft watermark effect using a clear perfect medium pad (you can see it in the close ups below). The other one, I cut in half and taped it to the top and bottom so that it just peeked over the edge of the die cut for a bit of an extra detail. I stamped my sentiment in Deep Purple Archival ink and cut it out with the Petite Labels Die D-Lite. I inked it with the same ink while still in the die and mounted it in the centre of the Elegant Labels Four die. I tied a messy bow from the mauve seam binding and added it with a glue dot in the lower corner. I made a rose out of purple card (using the method shown in the tutorial at the top of my blog) and seated in in the centre of my bow. I added a pearl swirl to the opposite corners as accents before adding a double milk mat which I pierced to add the finishing touches to my card. Finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size. All for now, Sue x

ReplyDeletei love today's card as it is beautiful. How you have the main colour as white and add embossing to it together with the contrast lilac is beautiful. The embossing folder on its own does not look anything startling, but add it to this and it comes alive into its own.
Thank you for allowing us into your talent once more Sue.

ReplyDeleteHello Sue. Another stunning card, with the gorgeous lavender colour too. Xx
ReplyDeleteYou and today's card are pretty amazing too! What an inspiration this is. The die is great and you have 'permission' to use as often as you fancy. I love decorative labels dies and each time I see 'basketweave' I like it more. It's now on my 'most wanted' list which grows almost every day. Truth be told if I won the lottery I'd buy every Spellbinder die in existance and then a bigger house so they could have their own room!! LOL.

Dear Sue,
ReplyDeleteI think I've nearly caught up now with your posts, sorry this is so late.
What a beautiful card this is, I love the lavender card against the milk card its such a pretty colour scheme.
The basket weave embossing folder is great and gives a lovely texture to the background.
The elegant labels four die is stunningly pretty and the idea of cutting one in half so that it peeps out at right angles to the main one is a genius idea and looks great.
I love the mauve seam binding its so pretty and sets the card off beautifully.
The purple paper rose is so very pretty and looks so well made, really finishes off the card wonderfully.
Best wishes from Katie-Louise sweetlove
