Have A Great Day

Hello crafters!  My fire and ice technique against a white backdrop this time.  I started with a piece of coconut white card and ran Scotch double sided tape all around the edges, overlapping at the corners.  I trimmed the ends even with the corners, then used the Autumn Leaves gilding flakes on it.  I used a piece of rubit scrubit pad to lightly refine and remove the excess flakes.  Next I covered the gilding flakes with another piece of double sided tape.  I poured the Iced Snow over the tape to create the fire and ice look on the edge of the background.  Next I stamped the A6 background stamp called Vintage Wallpaper by Sam Poole (available from her online shop Creative-Studios) by dabbing the flake and glitter glue over it.  I stamped it on white card and covered it with the same gilding flakes.  Once again, using a rubit  scrubit pad, I lightly refined the stamped image and removed the excess flakes.  I cut a Filigree Delight frame out of white card.  I added small pieces of mounting foam to the back and attached it to the gilded background stamped image.  I made a flower from the Button Floral stamp (see tutorial on the top of the blog for full directions).  I "sugared" it the flower with Iced Snow Glitter Jewels and added some swirls from the Bella Rose die set from Heartfelt Creations.  I stamped the sentiment with a black archival ink pad and cut it into a strip.  Using the flake and glitter glue, I added a thin bead of it to the edge of the strip and glittered it as well.  I mounted it with the end under the flower and gave it a bit of a curve and used a glue dot to hold it in place.  A double white mat with a pierced inner mat was the final step to complete the card.  What a nice way to send a friendly card!  The finished dimensions are 6" x 8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
from another already hot Friday here in Burgundy.
I'm afraid I'm going to be the odd one out today as today's gift does not hit the spot with me.
I like the colour scheme but then perhaps if I saw it in real life it may make me look again. I know all the other Wilsonettes will wonder why but there you go.
My visit to the craft shop yesterday left me very down hearted. In the UK we are far far infront with craft shops etc - I managed to find some card and a couple of gold/silver ink pads but oh what a disappointment.

I love your fire and ice technique and the stamp in the centre is lovely especially with the gilding flakes you have used. The filigree frame is pretty too and the flourishes with the paper rose is a stunning finish to the card.

I hope you aren't having thunderstorms where you are, we had a terrible storm where I live, both me and my dog were scared!

Have a great weekend and keep up the great inspiring work you show us on this blog. I really do appreciate your blog it brings a smile to my face however low I feel.
