Wonderful Christmas

Hi everyone! As promised, here is one of the samples from my show live from CHA in Las Vegas. This sample shows how pretty it is when you have the stamps and matching dies for your projects. I stamped a handful of the the holly berry swirl onto milk coloured card. I coloured them using Distress markers (Forest Moss and Fired Brick). I cut them out by lining up the matching die (called Ornamental Add Ons) from Heartfelt Creations and taping it into place before running them through the Grand Calibur. I attached them to a background that I embossed with the Wild Poinsettia embossing folder by Couture Creations. I added some diamond sprinkles to all the berries for an added extra bling. To create a focal element, I covered a piece of red card with a sticky adhesive sheet. I cut it with the Heirloom Ornament 2010, peeled the backing paper off and glittered it with the Diamond Sprinkles as well. I stamped the sentiment from Heartfelt Creations and cut it out with a circle die and a slightly larger red circle mat for it too. I used Fired Brick to ink it while in the die. I added some green to the holly and mounted it in the centre of my ornament. I matted the piece with a thin red mat and then added my double pierced mat to complete the card. Very traditional (so unusual for me, huh!)LOL

A truly beautiful traditional C.card for today's gift.
I love the look of these stamps and dies so guess what - yes I feel another purchase coming on - the colours and format are beautiful but for me today it's the sentiment that takes centre stage. These are a must!!

Anonymous said...: GM Sue - lovely card - this one caught my eye on the TV of all your samples. I didn't buy the set though as I didnt really want all 6 sets of stamps. I would prefer smaller bundles or pick n mix - £90 to spend in one go is quite alot for most folks I think. Just my opinion though...

It was seeing this card that made me buy the set. I wasn't planning to but my lovely hubby said he would treat me, so didn't need telling twice. I agree with the others that it is a lot to spend when the bundles are expensive and smaller bundles or pic n mix would be great as sometimes you may already have one die from a bundle. I really like the heirloom 2010 die and have been trying to purchase it, with no luck so far,..any thoughts ?

The card today is lovely, I like the foliage and the glitter berries. I think it is the only time throughout the year you can get away with lots of coloured glitter as Christmas is a very sparkly time. Hope you are having a good weekend. :-)

What a lovely Christmas card this is. I love the holly stamps and dies. They look great with the distress markers used to colour them.
Love the glittered berries and ornament.
The poinsettia embossing folder gives texture to the background and works great.

Love this card so much work gone into it. You a constant source of inspiration to me thank you very much for all your hard work running this blog alongside all your other work.
