Best Birthday Wishes

Hi crafters!  I am not sure how I missed this one, but it was a sample that I made for my first JustRite shows on this year!  Ornate Squares are the star of this card (along with the plaited ribbon border).  I started by just embossing my white background using the embossibility folder called Valor.  Since I was keeping the colours rather monochromatic, I thought I would make a ribbon border using the black and silver reversible ribbon.  There is a tutorial on the top of my blog on how to do this so you can pop over to it if you want to see the step by steps for it.  I attached it to the side of my card using a piece of mounting foam to secure it.  You don't want to use glue as it will seep through the ribbon and make it hard and change the colour too.  Next I stamped the Justrite stamp from the Ornate Happiness set, covered it with a piece of sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut it out with the Ornate Square die.  You can see through the adhesive sheets to line up the die if you hold it up to the light.  After cutting it, I peeled off the backing sheet and covered it with clear micro beads for texture.  I cut one more of the same shape from coconut white card without the micro beads and offset them together for a mixture of textures.  I stamped the same stamp on white card and added my sentiment this time.  I hand cut it so that I followed the inside line (making it smaller than the one below it) and raised it with mounting foam for dimension in the centre of my focal element.  To embellish my card, I added a small black swirl to the upper corner and tied a bow to add to my plaited border.  I finished the bow with two black pearl stick pins and a black Dazzler for the centre of my bow.  I matted the card with a double black mat and pierced the inner layer with my piercing ruler and pokey tool.  Finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8" in size.
Don't forget, if you are in the Aberdeen area today, please stop by for my demo.  We are raffling all the cards I make while I am there for their charity called Archway.  I hope to see you there, it is from 11 to 4pm!  All for now, Sue x

    morninmg Sue
Hope you have a super day with lots and lots of people making lots of money for that charity.
We all need to be made aware of how lucky we are at times not needing help.
Well today's gift, black/white, plaited ribbon, micro beads what more can I say - you cannot go wrong with that combination in my book and I'm sure in a lot of other wilsonettes' books.
Unfortunately no crafting for me today the garden is calling = no yelling - free me from these weeds!! and as it's already very warm and sunny best be off before it gets too hot.

Hi sue, Want to make this card for my sisters birthday to cheer her up. I have tried many places to get the reversible black and silver ribbon. I can only get in 25mm wide and it is too wide. Where can I get the narrower one from that you use on your card.

    Many thanks

    Chris
