It's Another Giveaway Day!

Hi my crafty friends!  I think this card is rather doilie-ious  (that was bad, wasn't it!)  But that is just what it reminds me of when you put four of the corners together like this.  Add in some micro beads and it is scrumptious I think!  I started this card by covering a piece of blue card with a piece of self adhesive sticky sheet and then trimming the edges to size and rounding the corners.  Next I cut four of the Heartfelt Creations blossom corner die in coconut white card.  Before I peeled the backing paper off, I laid the corners down to see where the approximate centre of my card was.  I used my pokey tool and poked a small hole in the centre.  I knew that it wouldn't show when the card was finished and it gave me a starting point from which to lay my four dies down.  Next I peeled the backing paper off and used that hole as the place where I first attached the tip of all four corner dies so that they would be relatively straight.  With the sticky paper, you don't really get a second chance.  Once it touches, it is pretty much stuck!  After I made sure they were firmly touching (I use the glossy side of the release paper, lay it over then rub), I poured my micro beads over the top of the entire piece.  I cut out the oval die in the Radiant Rectangle set, also using the smaller insert for more detail to use as a mat for my sentiment.  I stamped my sentiment (from Justrite stamps) then cut it out with one of the smaller sizes of the Labels 18 die set.  Using Stormy Sky distress ink, I lightly inked it while still in the die for an accent.  I mounted it in the centre of my oval, then attach that piece in the centre of my corner dies.  I added some flatback pearls to the card corners and parts of the corner dies as well.  Finished the piece with my customary double white pierced mat.  Finished dimensions are 7 3/4" x 7 3/4" in size.  How about if we do a giveaway on today's card.  Just leave me a comment and I will draw a name from among them to be the winner.  I'll post it up for you on Friday!  It has been absolutely forever since I have been able to do one.  I think it's high time!  All for now, Sue x

    Hi Sue,
who wouldn't love to receive this beautiful card!
The beauty of your shows was that I had all the dies already and could just sit back and watch your demos - apart from this corner one. And when I saw what you did with it, I just knew I had to get that one, too. Can't do a fan with the SB corners (butterfly and botanical).
Congrats to whoever receives this card.

  39. GM Sue - lovely - it does remind me of a snowflake - perhaps with a bit of chopping about?..

You mentioned on one of your Sunday shows how you bevel edge your cut n dry foam as this gives a softer blend I think you said - but I didn't really get how you were cutting it - I just hack mine off in 1 chop straightish and use - should it be round edged or at a slanted angle for best results?...

  61. Good morning Sue,
I love these filigree corners that has been designed as there is countless adaptations that they can make. As you say it makes a beautiful doily, and in turn you have made a beautiful card with an unusual angle to it. The midnight blue behind the design just makes the card POP!!!.
I see it has no bow, which is different from your normal cards, but the effect that you have achieved is stunning.
Thank you for your inspiration again Sue. Husband thinks i have an addiction as you are the first place that i go to WHEN i get the computer, but then there is a lot of us with the same addiction.

Love the way you have used the corner dies on this card, again its not one of your most intricate cards, more of a quick one, but boy is it effective, good idea to use the sticky back sheet to put the corners on before you add the microbeads to it so much easier than putting glue on such and intricate die. Hope you are well rested now after your shows on Sunday xx (thanks for bringing some better weather back with you too xx)

  152. Hi Sue, a really lovely card for us today, I actually did the same with the Butterfly corners, I did it in Blush and White card, I nearly fell of the sofa when I saw yours on C&C lol. Will there be any chance of getting just the Coconut White card on the C&C shows? I have lots of the other colours but no white, it would be lovely to get just the white in a larger quantity, hugs Liz C x
