Friends In A Grand Circle

Hi bloggers!  I have had a few emails recently asking to see some cards using the Die D-Lites.  I started by embossing the white background card with my A4 Heart Lattice embossing folder.  I selected some raspberry card (from my stash) and used the Grand Stately Circles cut cut my frames.  I used three of the dies to get two frames.  I skipped a size on the outer frame and then came back and added it during the embossing phase to add the detail on to the outer frame.  I mounted this frame with mounting foam for height and recessed the smaller frame inside.  I cut two of the Flower Box D-Lite and inked the flowers and leaves with Distress markers through the die.  I nipped away a few of the edge flowers so it didn't show through my inside edge detail on the recessed frame.  I glued the flower boxes side by side and the recessed frame over it .  I stamped my sentiment on coconut white card and cut it out with the Ornamental Tag Two D-Lite.  I inked it with Victorian Velvet Distress ink while still in the die.  I added a messy bow that was tied out of white seam binding, then spritzed with water and scrunched for a shabby chic look!  A heart Dazzler adorns the centre of the bow.  I added it to the side of my circular frame with a glue dot.  I wanted just a tiny little bit extra on it so I cut out a Butterfly Circle die out of white glitter card.  I used the tiny fall away butterfly pieces to add to the background and my sentiment.  I love those tiny butterflies! I used some flatback white pearls as embellishments to the corners and around the frame.   Adding a double white mat finished the card (no piercing this time as it was already a very large card!).  Finished dimensions are 8 1/2" x 8 1/2" in size.  I also wanted to let everyone know that Sam Poole has two shows tooday on Create and Craft at 11am and 5pm.  She has some brand new stamps and loads of beautiful samples and fun demos.  Don't forget to tune in to see her in action!  All for now, Sue x      P.S. Did you notice it or not? LOL

Such a pretty card, love how you have used the flowers. I have all the dies you have used on this card (I would never have thought of using them together - thanks), so guess what I will be showing at my next meet?! If you hadn't told us about the hearts I would never have noticed I had to really look hard to spot it, bit like the cat!!!!

  140. Hello everyone! This is such a pretty, pretty card Sue. The raspberry card makes it look good enough to eat like a 99 ice cream cornet topped with strawberry sauce.....mmmmmmm! The circle dies are stunning and a great idea putting the flowers in the middle. I love the heart folder and no, never noticed that the hearts were upside down! Just goes to show how much it matters, it still looks gorgeous! Love the little butterflies too. Ooooo yes, missed the 11am show with Sam but won't miss the 5pm one....I have it on timer and I'm watching the clock too so I won't miss it! Method in the madness....somewhere...! "Thank you" Sue for all the inspiration! xx Love karen xx

I have Sam's programmes recorded so can watch at leisure. Can't miss this glorious weather we are having here so taking full advantage and relaxing (and working) in the garden.

Dear Sue this is a gorgeous card and perfectly summery to match the lovely sunshine we've had today.
It took a few reads to get what you did with the stately circle dies but I eventually understood -I'm a bit slow on the uptake sometimes!
If you hadn't said something was different I wouldn't have looked and looked at the card so hard and eventually saw you've made teardrop gemstone shaped embossing instead of hearts on the lattice pattern! I like it both ways up so don't worry about it. Maybe write 'top' on when you've worked out where it is on the embossing folder? So you don't get these things happening I have to write on which way the embossed side comes up on so I put my card in the right side up! But then I like your cards when they look different and most the time I don't spot anything unless you point it out.
I love the flower box die d-lite die cuts and the way you've coloured them with the distress markers, I'm hoping that pro markers with the ultra fine nib on would have a similar effect? As I don't have distress markers nor flex markers. The flowers look so pretty across the circle die cut. I'd never have thought of using them in the circle I'd always think of straight edged cards for it...how you stretch my mind with wonderful creations.
The ornamental tag looks much better once you see it used on a card (than when c&c show you the die cuts boards they use, as I can't always see where or how I can use a die like this one so easily as other dies).
I use the butterfly cut outs too from the butterfly circle as I can't bear to throw them away as they are so sweet!
I Love the bow and dazzler also. Such a wonderful card today. Thank you.

    Best wishes and hugs

    From Katie-Louise Sweetlove x
