Best Friends Forever

Hi bloggers!  Teal and the Adorning Squares... a match made in heaven!  I couldn't stop cutting these, they are just so pretty.  I cut four of them out of teal card using the largest four dies in the set to give me a lacy decorative frame.  I offset two of them and glued them in place together, then I did the other two exactly the same way.  Then I glued them together and offset them again.  This allowed me to get the points relatively even this way.  I added mounting foam to the back for dimension.  Next I stamped my sentiment and used the smaller dies in the set to emboss the area around the sentiment.  I mounted the Adorning Squares over my sentiment and what was originally a square inside shape, now looks like a circular shape due to the offsetting of all the dies.  I cut a larger piece of coconut white card for them to set upon and decided the corners needed something.  I had some of the left over fall away pieces from the dies and started to play with them.  I found that they made a nice corner element when pieced together so I used them in all four corners and glued them in place with some Cosmic Shimmer dries clear glue.  I added flat back pearls to the corners and also to the Adorning Squares as accents.  I matted it with a layer of teal card then added a double white mat with a pierced inner mat to complete the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 7" in size.  All for now, Sue x

    morning Sue
TEAL to start a day is fantastic!!
So I really love the colour scheme for today's gift and it's amazing how you can turn a square into a circle. I never know what to do with the little cut outs that are left - although I always keep them as it is a shame to throw them away - so now I must remember to use them in such things as corners.

    Dear Sue,
What an amazing and beautiful card this is, just love the adorning square dies (and have been playing with mine since I got the replacement set : D ) and in teal card my favourite too! You've really made my day start brilliantly with this great card.
I wondered where you got the beautiful flourishes from as I didn't recognise them as a die I knew then saw you'd used the left over cut pieces from the squares how beautiful they are put together I do use mine but not as well as this I must try this out.

Thank you for all your inspiration and hard crafting on our behalf,

  85. Hi Sue

I did this design with just two of the dies, just like the one in the charity auction. using four plus the leftovers takes this to another level. funily enough I picked out all the leftovers over my bin. My friend said you could use these to decorate a card. So I picked them all out. now I know how to use them in corners. we not only learn different ways to use the dies, but also the scraps. If you could call them that. hope your still mostly in holiday mode. You deserve it.
