Thanks Ever So Much

Hi crafty friends!  This card is really one of my favourite layouts as it so simply shows off the dies at their best.  I love the backing paper and in my usual obsessed style, I covered it with micro beads for a nice textural look.  I know that I always split the comments when I do the dark cards, but I just love the sultry feel to these so I just can't stop myself, sorry!  I used the Adorning Square die set for this one.  It is quite intricate and beautiful, almost the look of an old fashioned handkerchief to me.  I cut two of them in the soft gold card using the three largest dies.  I offset them to create a lovely but simple focal element for my sentiment.  I stamped the sentiment on black card using a clear perfect medium pad and heat embossed with gold detail powder.  I cut it out with the smaller dies in the set and glued it in the centre of my offset squares.  I tied a double bow using the black silky crush ribbon and adorned the centre of the bow with a metal button from my craft stash.  I added stick pins as a further accent and decided to lift it a bit with a gold mat before adding my double pierced black mats.  A trio of black pearls in the upper corners completed the card.  Finished dimensions are 7" x 8 1/2" in size.

  16. Morning Sue, what a beautiful and elegant card today - kind of Victorian look which is just stunning. At first glance I thought this was the Asian accents die but just shows off the versatility of the adorning squares that they can have a completely different look depending on how you use them!

  140. Hi Sue, I am not usually a fan of dark cards, too sombre for me, but I do like the style of this one and can see it working well in a different colour.

Congratulations to the blog candy winners, I know you will be eagerly waiting for the postman to come :-)

  144. Hi Sue,
I like the dark cards - it's the layout that makes or breaks a design, I think and this one is just lovely. The Adorning squares are great and placed together like this make a wonderful focal point.

  151. Love the adorning square dies Sue, they do look like a handkerchief, a lacy one. I love lace with it's vintage, Victorian feel and any die that does that is a number 1 for me! I love the black and gold too, it's a rich and classy. Loving the gorgeous ribbon and the stash embellishment! Congratulations to you Sam, Val and Nurse Nellie (Danella)on winning on the Candy Blog! Wonderful! Enjoy your prizes! xx Love Karen xx

  155. Another stunner Sue, your cards always make me think of different ways to use the dies. I really must 'play' more with my dies because as you have demonstrated simply by turning a die can have such a dramatic effect!
Even after a long day at work you make me want to get my dies and ribbon out!
    Thanks as always.
