Two Colourways

Hi my crafty friends! Sounds like sage advice to me, the card sentiment.  This is the card that Dean and I thought had a Moulin Rouge/Carnival/Can Can dancer feel to it!  It sort of does, I think, but that is some of it's charm too. I managed to snap off a few quick pics before they whisked it away to be sent out after my demo.  You'll have to tell me which colour way  you prefer!   I started with a piece of striped decorative card.  I used the swirl stamp from the Butterfly Dreams set (I really like that stamp!)  and stamped it all the way around the edge of the card with a clear perfect medium pad.  I heat embossed it with gold powder.  I covered the entire piece with a sticky self adhesive sheet, peeled off the backing paper (eventually!) and covered it with micro beads for a fun textural feel to it.  I stamped the large Labels 29 stamp from the Good Friends set, cut it out with the matching die and inked it with Tattered Rose distress ink.  I mounted it with foam in the centre of my beaded background.   Next I stamped my sentiment and cut it out with Vintage labels 2 and inked it with Tattered Rose.  I also cut the next size of the die as a mat and inked it lightly too.  I stacked them up to complete my focal element.  I used the Bitty Blossoms die set to create my floral elements.  I inked them with Tattered Rose as well for a coordinating look and rolled them to form the flowers.  I cut the leaves and inked through the die with clear perfect medium and gold embossed them.  I arranged them in the corner and tucked a piece of cream tulle in with them.  I pierced the milk coloured mat to finish it off.  Still love the sentiment!  Finished dimensions are 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" in size.

  9. Hi Sue. I think the striped backing in pink/orange is for me it evokes many crafty ideas. I could see a fairy or even beach type theme to it. The card has a simplicity which is my personal favourite look for a card. Hope this all makes some kind of sense - its a bit early for me 6.15! Great card.LindaT.

  13. Hi Sue

I agreed when you showed it on tele definitely a Moulin Rouge feel to it. However only with the red not the blue somehow the red seems more opulent than the blue and is definitely my preference. It is really beautiful I love the gold lettering and the sentiment - how poignant!

  143. Hi Sue a beautiful card which has that regency stripped look to me in the red. The gold embossing is stunning. Love both colour ways and would be thrilled to receive any one of your fabulous cards.

  144. Hello Sue, Both cards are stunning, the red/pink just edges it for me. Love the gold embossing and the flowers. Enjoyed the show with you and Dean, that sticky sheet was a bit stubborn.
Happy Easter Sue and the Wilsonettes.
    Have a great day everyone.

Hi sue I love this card and I really can't choose between the colours, they are both stunning!! Kimberley you are not the only one who has to wait I actually think c&c are getting worse for their delivery,I now never get any order before 10 days and normally have to wait two weeks which when you're paying top postage is really unacceptable and that's why I only buy the big deals from them on flexipay!! Everything else I get from other websites.sorry rant over but it's really annoying as I'm still waiting for my potw order!!!! Love lesley

    Hi Sue
Two stunningly beautiful cards I can't decide which I love the most - Sue that wasn't fair to ask!

I love all the embossing and the microbeading with the embossing under it such a good idea I'd never have thought of doing that.
The flowers are delightful and I love them as well as the bow.
Thank you for all your inspiration,

  169. How to choose... If I was not allowed a tie result I think I would go for the rose colours, but only if my life depended on it LOL They are both stunning and who knows, if it was a hot and steamy day perhaps the cool blues would creep ahead! Maybe it's the weather influencing me!
Oh those dies are so lovely they are on my ever growing wish list!
    Hope you're managing a break
